Max is a loving and amazing dog. He is such a people person and always shows constant affection. He is very energetic and needs lots of attention. He is trained well and responds quickly to commands. He would be a great fit for a young family or a farm that can give him the space and time for his energy. I am relocating a cross the country this fall and need to find an amazing home for this sweet boy.

Story
Rocky is 11 years old. He LOVES people. He always wants to be where his people are at and by your side. He is a true Velcro dog. We would like Rocky to go to a home where he could get a lot of attention and daily exercise. He would be a great fit for someone who wants a loyal companion. He does not like other animals very much(he tolerated our dog that has since passed, and we are unsure if he would get along with another dog). He does not like cats. Rocky would need to be an only "child."

Story
LENNOX is a 2 year old, female cattle dog mix. She weighs 39 lbs. She was originally adopted out as a puppy and came back when she hit her "terrible teens". Those days are now long gone and she has blossomed into a lovely, young lady. Our Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program was just what she needed. Here, the rules are the rules and slowly, but surely, Lennox started to fall into line. Cattle dogs are a very task driven breed and obedience training was actually what she needed. She also polished up her social skills. Upon graduating from the program, she went to a great foster home. Here, she became BFF's with the foster's dog. (Who was also in our program and came back as an unruly teenager before he, too, went through Paws Behind Bars) Her "perfect fit" home will be an active one with older children. (cattle dogs will always want to herd). If there is another dog, a male would be preferred. A fenced in yard is a must so she can get the proper amount of exercise. She loves people and thrives on obedience and structure. If interested in adopting, our process begins with submission of our application. Please visit our website at www.adoptmebluegrasspetrescue.com and click on Lennox's picture in "Adoptable Dogs". Additional adoption FAQ's can be found here also. Meets will be set with approved applicants based on our "best family fit" approach. Thank you!

Story
Beethoven was born deaf to a litter of ten purebred Australian Cattle Dogs. His brothers and sisters all went to good homes to either be family pets or working dogs. However, because of his special needs, Beethoven stayed with us to be cared for. We already have three other dogs and realize we have stretched ourselves a bit. We want Beethoven to have his best life with someone who can care for him properly. Beethoven has been an outside dog who is crated inside at night. He is incredibly intelligent and sweet. While he can occasionally be ornery, he mostly wants to run and bark at squirrels when he sees them. He has shown food aggression in the past and we have worked with him to correct but we have seen him try to bully other dogs out of the bowl. In his life, Beethoven has interacted with at least five other dogs but never with cats. He does well around children.

Story
Copper is a Texas Heeler, or Australian cattle dog mixed with an Australian shepherd. Copper is 7mnths old (7/24/24) and the last of his litter to be adopted. Many of the other Texas Heelers had merle patterns and were adopted swiftly. However young copper has a pattern that resembles a Beagle. While his coat may look like a Beagle he is a heeler through and through. Very energetic and playful. Copper loves to please and wants to help when he sees someone working. Copper is very playful with other dogs but does not have experience around cats. Copper has been around children and, while he doesn't have good manners he is not aggressive. Copper is very timid but once you show him some little affection he opens right up. He has the snout of an Australian shepherd with the tenacity of an Australian cattle dog. Copper is not house broken, he is an outside dog that is crated at night.
