You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Bumper is a 2.5-year-old Australian Shepherd mix with some curious puppy still in him.  He loves his family and his routine.  His favorite activity is to play fetch.  When the weather is nice, he’ll bring you a tennis ball to go outside and throw around with him.  He’ll bring you the ball and drop it right at your feet.  Bumper is a very cute, very sweet, little guy who loves to please.  His favorite treats are Greenies.  He also likes Bully Sticks as a special treat every once in a while.   He is crated trained and good on leash. Bumper would like to be an only pet in the home, giving all his love to his person. Bumper has a tendency to want to fight with other dogs that are shy and/or timid.  He is also very strong with a typical breed herding instinct, so children in the new home should be at least 13 years old, unless the family is very experienced with understanding the breed. If you are interested in Bumper, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2024, 11:31 am

NAME: Hermione BREED: Cattle Dog Mix BIRTHDAY: Spring 2023 WEIGHT: 30lbs ADOPTION FEE: $300 &#226&#128&#139 This lovely young girl stole our hearts when we saw her in a dog-test video for another dog we were pulling from a southern shelter. Although she is much too young and active for our senior rescue, her sweet and submissive nature made her an easy addition to our pack. She has been a good friend to the dogs (and tolerant cats) here, but Hermione needs much more than we're able to provide. She is super smart and likes to keep busy, so she will need an active family who wants to have fun training a working pup. While she may not be a good candidate for herding sheep or cows, Hermione would likely excel at basic training, agility, and maybe even sniffer dog work. She is treat motivated but also just loves positive attention and affection.  &#226&#128&#139 Hermione has done great with house and crate training, is friendly with new dogs, friendly but maybe a little "much" for cats, loves meeting new people, rides well in the car, is relatively quiet, and is soft and kissy. Sadly she is heartworm positive, and will undergo treatment at the end of March. If she's adopted before then like we're hoping, her family will just have to bring her to our vet in Hanover; treatment costs are covered by the rescue. She is otherwise healthy and fully vetted. Please consider giving this fun-loving lady the family she has been missing so much! April 9, 2024, 6:07 pm

I am a sweet loveable guy that will surely warm your heart. I hope you will come meet me soon. We can go on a walk together and I'll win your heart over. Interested in adopting me? Story
Hello, my name is Christopher, a proud Cattle Dog with a heart full of loyalty and a spirit as boundless as the open range. Life with me is like embarking on a grand adventure every single day, and I'm searching for a special someone who shares my love for excitement and exploration.I'll be the first to admit - I'm not your average lap dog. I've got energy to spare and a natural instinct to herd just about anything that moves. Whether it's chasing after tennis balls in the backyard or rounding up my favorite toys, I'm always on the move and ready for action. But it's not just about the thrill of the chase - I'm also fiercely loyal to my humans and will stop at nothing to keep them safe. I'll be your faithful companion through thick and thin, always by your side and ready to lend a helping paw whenever you need it.Now, I'll be honest - I'm not always the best around small children. They can be a bit too unpredictable and chaotic for my liking, and I prefer the company of older, more mature humans who can appreciate my unique charms. But if you're looking for a furry friend who's equal parts loyal and lovable, then look no further. So what do you say? Are you ready to welcome a Cattle Dog with a heart as big as the great outdoors into your home? If you're looking for a four-legged companion who's always up for an adventure and never short on love, then Christopher is your guy!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Cheryl (lovemy4eskies@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Casper has come back in to rescue after 12 years as his owner is no longer able to care for him.  He seems to like men more than woman however he does spend time with me but he prefers my boyfriend.  He loves to take walks and seems to do pretty good. He is house broke but may have some accidents in the beginning as he is getting used to things and if other dogs in the home and if you're gone too long.  He has a backyard to run around in and has not tried to get out but it's best to make sure your fence is secured if you are going to let him out there unattended.  He tries to play with my senior blind boy (who did not play when he could see) so he would do best I think in a home that has a dog he could play with.  He does pretty good with children over 10 but he is skittish so not sure how he would do with younger kids. I am not sure he will ever get over being skittish.   I also did a DNA test on him and he is as follows:        54% Australian Cattle Dog        42% American Eskimo Dog        2% Chihuahua        1% Border Collie        1% Pomeranian Casper is a special boy and I will be looking for the perfect home for him.  If your interested please email me at lovemy4eskies@gmail.com He is being fostered in Ridgley, MD.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state. If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers. There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs. Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!                                                       April 24, 2024, 1:41 pm

No cats, though. She does not do well with them. Diesel is very energetic and would do best with a home where he has lots of room to run around. He is neutered. Unfortunately we have been experiencing behavior issues between him and another one of our dogs. Usually he is fine with other dogs however they had puppies together and we’ve had issues with the two ever since. He is very sweet and loves affection. He loves playing tuggawar and fetch.
