You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Juno has been well trained to live in a home. She is nicely house broken and crate trained. Her foster says of her ' Juno is very sweet Loves to play with toys & run around outside. She is very calm in her crate.' She is a working breed and would love to have a job to do around your place. She is such a wonderful, and useful, dog to have around. She has gotten along well with the other dogs she has met. No cats, though. She does not do well with them. We have had her completely vetted and made sure she has all her shots for you.  A beauty to look at, and lovely both inside and out.She would love to join your family and in no time she will be a cherished family member . If you are interested in Juno, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 29, 2024, 12:01 am

Story
Diesel is very energetic and would do best with a home where he has lots of room to run around. He is neutered. Unfortunately we have been experiencing behavior issues between him and another one of our dogs. Usually he is fine with other dogs however they had puppies together and we’ve had issues with the two ever since. He is very sweet and loves affection. He loves playing tuggawar and fetch.

Story
Ophelia is a super sweet, gorgeous dog who adores people. She's great with other dogs (but could also be on her own). She is housebroken and smart. She would thrive in a training class as she's an eager learner. She is @40 lbs and we estimate 2 years old. Aussies generally make excellent watchdogs and are known for their playful and affectionate natures.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 19, 2023, 12:13 am

DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Penny is 2yo, weighs 50lbs, is spayed, is up to date on her vaccines, and is microchipped.  Penny dislikes/fears the dark and loud noises; she LOVES car rides !  Penny's guardian have spent a considerable amount of time and money to determine the underlying reason for Penny's sudden onset without success.  She and her canine sibling are currently in a training program from which they'll graduate 1 March; Penny is learning how to properly walk on leash, sit, down, stay, and place.  Although she's doing well, Penny attacked her canine sibling again recently, which prompted her guardian to keep them separated.  Penny's guardian adds:   "When she’s with just my husband or me, she’s content.  But, she is much more content and visibly happy at training & doggy daycare because she’s active.  We have 2 dogs in addition to Penny that we had before we adopted her - a 9yo lab and the 3yo lab.  Our jobs are very demanding, and it was always fine that the dogs had a more chill lifestyle until recently.  It is not fair to Penny to have to be crated or in another room because she can’t get along with our other dog anymore.  We want her to be able to run freely, be as active as she possibly can.  We are heartbroken, and this is the toughest decision we’ve ever had to make.  But in the end, it’s about her happiness and quality of life that matters most." Penny's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome her:  Although Penny and one of her canine siblings were the best of friends, Penny has inexplicably attacked and bitten her a few times since December 2023.   Lunge/Attack/Bite Incidents:  Since December in 2023, in Hollywood, MD, Penny has attacked and bitten one of her canine sibling without provocation; the bite broke the skin, animal control was not involved and veterinary treatment was not necessary.  Penny's guardian explains:  "Penny lunged at and attacked our other dog.  Our other dog ended up with a gsh in her ear, chest, and bit marks on her front leg.  They were not severe, so we cleaned them up and they're healing." Penny's guardian states the following regarding children:  Although Penny hasn't lived with children, her guardian recommends her living with children, stating "Penny loves our two young nieces and nephew.  She is gentle with them, lays next to them, and loves when they play with her". Penny's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Although Penny lives with two dogs, her guardian doesn't recommend her living with dogs, stating "Prior to the first incident in December, we never had any issues with Penny and our dogs.  They were all the best of friends, played great together, slept on top of each other, drank out of the water bowl together, truly inseparable.  We have never had any issues with Penny with our neighbors' dogs, dogs at the vet, or groomer". Penny's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Penny lives with a cat, so her guardian recommends Penny living with cats, stating "Penny and our cat are best friends". Penny's guardian describes her as follows: Very active Couch potato Playful Friendly Fence Jumper Likes to be touched Affectionate Independent Protective Always at your side Indoor dog House-Trained Crate-Trained Likes men Likes women Penny's guardian described her ideal future home: "Penny would truly thrive in an active home.  Going on multiple daily walks, playing outside, going for frequent car rides, going to different parks or beaches, running and playing freely.  She would benefit from a fenced yard with lots of room for her to run and play." Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Nico is a unique dog to say the least! His DNA Wisdom Panel found him to be 59% border collie, with his mother most likely to be 100% pure border collie. He certainly stays true to this breed for sure!  He loves to be busy, or have a job as they call it, by running around the yard and watching everything that moves. He actively plays with our other foster dog, and they can play for hours. He will herd young ones, so no children under 10 for him, because he will lean into them until they go in the direction he wants. Coonhound is 18% of his DNA, which explains his ability to track and follow a scent in our yard. Once he catches the scent of a fox or groundhog, he will bark, but not continuously. If you pretend to howl, he will 'sing' along with you-and that is when you hear his distant hound relatives. Nico is one of the smartest dogs our foster family has ever had. He learned to be house broken in a few days, and knows several commands. He will go in his kennel when told to do so. This is NOT a crate- it is much larger to accommodate his long legs when he stands up. He has good recall-especially if you have a treat! Nico is working on leash walking and is improving every day. Even though he is 72 pounds, he will try to climb up in your lap to get some love. He came in 33% underweight,  and has now learned that he doesn't have to inhale his food.  We put it in his kennel and let him eat by himself so he doesn't feel threatened by other dogs. Nico's perfect home would be one with another active dog that loves to run and play.  He would like to be outside because he loves watching the world go by, but at night, he wants to snuggle in his bed. Just a warning-he yawns loudly!  To keep Nico safe, he will need a yard with a physical fence.  If you are interested in Nico, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 29, 2024, 12:01 am
