Story
Introducing our lively and energetic Spirit! She’s a 3 year old Cattle Dog/Beagle mix (guess), 35 lbs, and so sweet. This girl is a bundle of joy, always on the go, and ready for action. With an abundance of playfulness, she’s the perfect partner for games, fetch, and outdoor adventures. Once she gets all her energy out, she chills with her people on the couch!Watch her prance around with that unmistakable spring in her step – she brings an extra dose of cheer wherever she goes. She even does her happy feet dance sometimes! An adventurer at heart, she thrives on exploring and discovering new horizons, making her an ideal companion for the outdoorsy types. She is like a prancing, running deer! You'll be pleased to know that she’s both house and crate trained! What this girl craves most is your affection and attention. She’s a real people-pleaser, and those belly rubs and ear scratches are her absolute favorite! She doesn’t trust people right away and takes time to warm up, but once she does, she is extremely loyal, affectionate, and protective of her people when people come over. She gets along well with kitty friends. She is dominant with other dogs and likes to show them she's boss, but she is completely fine with them after! We've only seen her around submissive dogs. Proper, slow introductions are important with her and other dogs. It is safe to say she may not do well with other dominant dogs. Spirit’s open heart and care-free personality are sure to brighten your days and fill your life with endless joy and excitement.Adopter must have a fully fenced yard and an active lifestyle.DISCLAIMER- Breed type is determined based on general appearance and behavioral characteristics and cannot be guaranteed unless DNA test results or AKC registration were provided at intake.***MOST OF OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN TEXAS, BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE. Story
Introducing Zara, a delightful one-year-old bundle of affection and unwavering devotion. Zara's journey began when we saved her from a high-kill shelter in Texas, narrowly escaping a grim fate. It's evident that someone may have treated her unkindly, as she initially displays timidity (cowers) around unfamiliar people, but she will also get on her back for belly rubs. With time, love, and a reassuring touch, Zara will blossom into the best version of herself. She has the prettiest coat and if you brush it the opposite way, you can see that her roots are red!  In her nurturing foster home, Zara is flourishing, thanks to her work-at-home foster parents who provide ample human interaction and the attention she craves. She's a snuggling pro, always seeking reassurance and showering you with boundless love. While Zara prefers not to be confined in a kennel at any time, she is house trained and we think she will get used to a crate with some patience & positive reinforcement. She is very food motivated and eager to please. She's very well-mannered on leash and loves walks so much.. Those are her favorite! She dislikes being alone, so ideally her family will spend a lot of time at home or bring her places. Zara would thrive in a home with submissive dogs or as the only dog, and slow introductions are crucial when meeting new dogs & settling into a new environment. She is NOT good with cats or other small animals due to her high prey drive, so her future home must not have any. It's important to note that she's best suited for a home with children over the age of 10 as she doesn't always realize her size. She will playfully nibble on you when she wants someone to pet her, which is a typical cattle dog trait.  Zara needs to be in an environment where those around her understand and respect her boundaries as she continues to heal and learns to trust that she'll never experience harm again. When Zara knows and trusts you, she'll eagerly leap onto you, expressing her love through her endearing, expressive eyes and a hug. Zara delights in a balanced blend of indoor and outdoor play and finds pure joy in basking in the warm sun. If you're in search of an affectionate and loyal companion perfectly suited to a work-from-home /retirement lifestyle or an active one where you’ll bring your dog with you all over, Zara is the ideal addition to your life. Story
12 week old Jade is a little on the shy side, she likes to be held and lays on your shoulder with her head tucked under your chin. She likes to be pet, but wants you to be down at her level and likes to come to you for attention. She enjoys chasing other dogs and playing with squeaky toys and ropes. She has been sleeping on an elevated place bed and likes it. She has cattle dog characteristics as she will nip at the back of your pant leg when chasing you! She isn’t a licker, but likes to look her people in the eyes and will nose touch to your face! She’s a wild one when she’s running around on the floor, but instantly calms down as soon as she’s picked up and just sits there! She’s great with her foster’s 2 and 6 year old grandchildren - they have held her and played with her without any issues! She doesn’t have any resource guarding issues with food or toys. She’s also starting to get the hang of house training! This girl is SO precious and any family would be SO lucky to have her!!DISCLAIMER- Breed type is determined based on general appearance and behavioral characteristics and cannot be guaranteed unless DNA test results or AKC registration were provided at intake.***Jade is fostered in Virginia, but available for adoption & transport out of state (depending on where).
