He enjoyed pets and any treats available! He might steal a leaf or two along the trail! He did a great job and Ignored any dogs coming by on the trail. He did pull a little but slowed down to my paced in time. He knows sit and down commands. A sweet stout gentleman.Volunteer notes, 6/26/24:Baxter is high energy and loves to run. He will come when called. Affectionate.Volunteer notes, 5/12/24:Loved chasing then bringing back the tennis ball. Enjoyed a longer walk, curious to sights and sounds, but not pulling. Startled my movement in the woods, but recovered, no pulling to chase anything. Enjoyed being petted, sitting in the grass togetherVolunteer notes, 5/7/24:Today we learned that Baxter loves to chase balls, but his idea of playing fetch is to touch the ball with his nose and run back. He is sweet, friendly, goofy, and hilarious. He loves treats!Voluntee

Story
Hi! I'm Loki, I am a Rottweiler and Blue Heeler mix and I love people and running! I have so much energy and love to give, but I forget how big I am sometimes, so I have not met very many small humans. When I meet new people I get soooo excited because maybe they'll pet me! I've seen how humans greet each other and will try to shake their hands so they know I'm friendly. Some people don't like this, so I am learning about boundaries and staying calm, cool and collected. See how I pose so pretty for pictures? Very cute, very demure. When I need to go potty, I let my people know with an inside bark and some tiptaps. Very mindful. I love bath time! When winter ends and my cold-coat needs to go I am very patient and dont get scared by blow dryers OR grooming vaccuums. I love other dogs too! not as much as people, but I'm a big pushover and like to let smaller dogs knock me over and feel strong :) Can I have a chicken treat now?

Story
Due to unexpected life changes, I need to rehome my 6-year-old Blue Heeler, Viggo, by September 30th, 2024. I love him dearly and consider him the perfect dog--while I know it's in his best interest to find him a new home, I am heartbroken to say goodbye! I'd love to find someone who wouldn't mind sending me the occasional picture/update around the holidays. He is a healthy, well-trained, high-energy dog who loves hiking, running, playdates with other dogs, and learning new tricks. While he's always up for an adventure, he's also incredibly affectionate and loving; a true velcro dog, he attaches closely with his human(s). He would thrive in a home where he can get plenty of exercise and mental stimulation, ideally with someone familiar with the breed's needs. He is excellent on and off leash and is extremely easy to train!
