Story
Meet Peter! 🐾 Peter is an adult cattle dog mix and truly the best boy. He’s incredibly friendly, loves being around people, and is always eager to please. Like many cattle dog mixes, Peter is intelligent and quick to learn—especially when treats and consistency are involved. When he gets excited, he can be a little jumpy, but he responds well to guidance and is always trying to do the right thing. He enjoys staying active and engaged, whether it’s playing fetch or keeping himself busy with his toys. Peter listens well and thrives when he has both physical activity and mental stimulation. His happy attitude and sweet nature make him a wonderful companion. Peter can get very nervous when it comes to getting into a car, so he’ll benefit from patience, reassurance, and positive reinforcement to help build his confidence. With the right support, he’ll continue to grow into an even more confident and well-rounded dog, ready to be a loyal best friend in his forever home. The shelter is open Tuesday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, and on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A meet-and-greet is required for all shelter dogs if you already have a dog. Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter animal in need!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Let me introduce you to Annie ❤️   Annie is a beautiful Red Heeler with a heart to match. While she’s been raising her puppies, she’s also been showing everyone exactly who she is—and it’s something special.   Her foster mom says if she didn’t already have five dogs of her own, Annie would be staying. That alone tells you everything you need to know.   Annie has all the best traits of a cattle dog—she’s smart, attentive, loyal, and deeply connected to her people. She’s the kind of dog who wants to be part of your world, whether that’s helping you with daily life or simply being by your side.   And underneath that classic Heeler intelligence is a very sweet, gentle soul. She’s loving, steady, and has done an incredible job raising her puppies.   Annie is ready for a home of her own now—a place where she’s not just the mama, but someone’s heart dog.   If you know and love the spirit of a good cattle dog, Annie may be exactly who you’ve been waiting for.   Apply to adopt Annie and give this wonderful girl the life she deserves. Thank you for checking out our wonderful orphans. We try to post videos for each pet so you can really get to know them. Story
Say hello to Koda, a stunning blue heeler mix who is basically sunshine wrapped in fur. At just 7 months old and already weighing 55 pounds, this girl is well on her way to becoming a big, beautiful, full-grown adventure buddy.Koda came to us as an owner surrender when her family had to relocate for work, but she hasn’t let that dim her sparkle one bit. This girl is FUN, FUN, FUN! Seriously—if there’s excitement happening, Koda is already there, tail wagging and ready to join in. Whether it’s a hike, a game of fetch, or zoomies in the yard, she’s always up for it.She’s got a permanent smile on her face (yes, it’s as adorable as it sounds) and a personality that lights up every room she enters. Koda is crate trained, reported to be good with other dogs, and children, but NO cats please. He has a high energy level that makes her the perfect match for an active home.Koda is available for adoption. She’s been spayed, microchipped, and updated on vaccines—everything she needs to start her new life safe, healthy, and loved. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to this energetic, happy, adventure-loving girl, please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and submit an online adoption application for Koda. Her adoption fee is $160.Koda is ready to run, play, and love her way straight into your life!

Story
TEDDY 5YRS 33LBS MALE AUS CATTLE DOG LISA 3YR 21 LBS FEMALE MIX MUST HAVE ACD/HERDING BREED EXPERIENCE BONDED PAIR-Ever wanted a dog for you and a dog for your sig other but were afraid of clashing personalities? Well, not here because these two love each other, a LOT, so at least you know they get along perfectly and there is one for each of you. 2x the love!!!!!!!!!!!!! (And man, are they CUTE!) They travel often in the car with me for over an hour at a time - they do ride crated. Load up easy and ride quietly- unless we go through a drive through then Lisa has opinions about what she wants too. She likes to play ball, but not as intense as Teddy and will just let him get it and go find something else to do. They play and wrestle with each other and other dogs. Not overly rough but will get on ground with each other. They love to run laps in the yard chasing each other. They leave my uninterested dogs alone, as there is always someone else to play with. Lisa did not get along with my 1 male foster - just a little 10 pounder . Not sure who to started the war, but I did not leave them loose with each other * no actual fight/injury/contact ever occured. There was alot of noise 1 time, and they would grumble at each other when passing by each other's crates/run at work. Teddy is pretty easy going but doesn't like to be corrected. He will get bossy -verbal and pin someone who tries to But a sharp HEY from me and he will stop and walk away * never has been a fight or injury. Loves to play fetch and the other dogs do not challenge him to get the ball away from him. He would definitely destroy a stuffed toy if given the chance. They both love to chew on antlers/ nylabones/Benebone etc Teddy is a super cuddler and happy to hang on the couch or bed. Lisa loves attention too but takes a bit more to settle down at first. Both settle quickly and Quietly in a crate. They are both jumpers and when seeking attention. They have gotten better, but would need to be reminded of their manners going forward. We do not require a fenced BUT they would need a secure area to be able to run in and burn off energy weekly. Crate trained and housebroken   This animal is up to date on all shots, dewormed, and spayed/neutered. They have been heartworm tested (negative) and on prevention.  The adoption fee is $400.00 for the pair. If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an application. http://www.ajssearchandrescue.org/adoption-applicationMay 9, 2026, 6:23 am
