Story
Hunter is a 2 year old Australian Cattle Dog mix. We rehomed him as a six month old puppy and believe he was abused by his former owner. We have patiently tried to work with Hunter on his behavioral issues, but are running out of time with a new baby on the way. He is a highly intelligent dog with many redeeming qualities. He is loyal and affectionate with his family members and very protective of them. Fully house-trained. He picks up tricks very easily. Unfortunately, he is very reactive to strangers and children. He will occasionally snap at strangers and exhibits herding nipping behavior toward children. He has some barking issues that seemed to be caused by attention seeking and anxiety. Hunter is crate trained but will do better with minimal crating. We do not know if he is ok with other dogs. He is not good with cats. Hunter needs an experienced, patient, loving home without young children.

Story
Joker is one cool dude! Joker is on the smaller side, but don't let his size fool you, he is a very active fun loving guy that likes other dogs. We are also told he is house trained and crate trained. Joker's fun personality wouldn't be the best for cats as he has a ball chasing them around. He is looking for a family who can keep him busy. If you are ready to go out on plenty of adventures with Joker, please come visit him during our open hours. A meet and greet with other dogs in the home is required before adoption.

Story
Who's looking for an adventure buddy? Rocky is your boy. Rocky is a male 2 ½ year-old Australian Cattle dog blue speckled/Rottweiler mix that weighs 47 pounds. This handsome boy came to us as an owner surrender through no fault of his own. Rocky has a heeler body with a nub for a tail, white stripe on the head and Rottweiler eyebrows. This boy has a high energy level. He will need an active family that can exercise him and take him on all sorts of adventures. He is ready to go on an adventure at any given time. He has an excitement for life and everything in it. Rocky loves car rides and all physical activities. He is reported to be house trained and crate trained. He is also reported to be good with older children, cats, and other dogs. As always, a meet and greet with any resident canines is required. Rocky likes to chase bicycles on walks. Please do your research on herding dogs such as Rocky. They are great dogs with the right owners. Herding dogs are smart as whips and need jobs to keep them mentally and physically active. Rocky is available for our foster to adopt program which means you can foster him in your home until he has completed all his vetting. This includes a microchip, vaccines and heartworm testing. Rocky is already neutered. Please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org to meet Rocky. Rocky’s adoption fee is $160. Story
To be considered for adopting a dog from Canine Lifeline, you must have an approved application must be on file. Please visit http://www.caninelifeline.org/adoption-process/ for more information about our adoption process and to submit an online application.   Ariel is a very pretty 2.5 year-old girl who found herself homeless at an overcrowded county dog shelter and made the trip to Canine Lifeline so she could take her time finding the perfect new home. The shelter listed her as a Heeler mix but we think she may have some Jack Russell Terrier or Beagle in her DNA too. Ariel is as sweet as can be but can be easily overwhelmed in new situations. She can be very timid and fearful meeting new people so it does take her some time to warm up to strangers. Ariel is much more comfortable with people when there is another dog around to boost her confidence so we do want to place her in a home where she'll have a confident buddy to emulate. She enjoys playing with other dogs so would also enjoy having a canine pal to wrestle with. Ariel has been crate-trained and housetrained in her foster home so should be able to pick up the house rules quickly in her new home. Ariel walks quite nicely on a leash but can be easily spooked by odd sights and sounds. She would love a home in a nice quiet neighborhood where she can truly relax and enjoy her life. Ariel goes hiking regularly with her foster mom and Boxer buddy and loves it! Given her shyness, she would do best in a home that has a yard with a secure aboveground fence. It will likely take Ariel some time to get comfortable in a new home but once she bonds with someone, you've got a friend for life! Ariel weighs about 27 pounds and her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Ariel. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there. Please visit our website at www.caninelifeline.org to see more photos of Ariel and to submit an online application.June 2, 2023, 12:50 pm

Story
To be considered for adopting a dog from Canine Lifeline, you must have an approved application must be on file. Please visit http://www.caninelifeline.org/adoption-process/ for more information about our adoption process and to submit an online application.   Scarlet is a beautiful 2 year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix spayed female who found herself homeless at an overcrowded county dog shelter. She made the trip to Canine Lifeline so she could relax in a foster home while searching for her permanent new home. While we don’t have any history on this girl, we have found her to be extremely friendly with people. She loves making new friends and enjoys rolling over for a belly rub if given the chance. Scarlet enjoys playing with toys and does pretty well with a game of fetch. She can be particular about her dog friends though so might do best as the only dog in her new home. Scarlet has had excellent crate manners and may be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee it. She enjoys going on walks and will make an excellent trail buddy for an active person or family. Scarlet is a great size at only about 30 pounds (easy to pick up if necessary) and her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized.
