Story
Cooper is a good boy. I adopted him from a shelter in July 2024, when they think he was about 1 year old. He had never had a family before, and he has come a long way. He is crate trained and house trained. He loves to cuddle on the couch, and he sleeps in my bed. Cooper is great with kids and really loves them. I have 7 nieces and nephews ages 13 to 2, and he is good with them. If he has not had enough exercise, though, he can be too excited and knock them over. All that being said, Cooper is high energy. I am not home enough, and my mom, who used to help with other dogs, can no longer drive, so cannot help me. Over the last few months I’ve been experiencing health issues, the most recent my heart, and it has been a journey. It is clear that while I love Cooper, he really needs a home that is more active. If he does not have enough exercise or stimulation he will chew anything and everything, so someone familiar with his breed would be best.

If so, check out Emma and look no further! Emma is a young Cattle Dog mix (about 1 ½ - 2 years) and weighs about 22 pounds. She gets along with other dogs and loves people—a lot!. True to her breed, Emma loves to play and explore and would do well with someone who will spend lots of time with her and keep her well exercised. Emma came to us in the end of January as a stray from Cleveland. She was very pregnant and gave birth two weeks later to five beautiful puppies! Emma was a GREAT mom, but now it’s time for her to finally get to be the center of someone’s attention as she LOVES people and would gladly cuddle with you on the couch as much as should would go for a nice long walk! Emma is spayed, housebroken and crate trained. If you are interested please contact info.gratefulpaws@gmail.com or fill out an application at https://www.gratefulpawsrescue.com/adopt.html

Story
Hi, I'm Poppy I'm a 2.5 year old Fully vaccinated and fixed. I'm the good boy. I would love my own forever home with a family That loves me, I'd like to tell you my story.I'm even kennel trained. I had a family, and I love them, and I was a good boy, I'm not sure but I don't think they love me. One day he all went for a car ride and I was having fun and my family stopped in this big Park and took me out and I turned around. They were gone. I lived outside for a while until this wonderful lady. Seen me and helped me. I was so hungry and so alone I was there for a lot of days I kept watching to see if they would come back but they never. Then one day this lady came to feed the all the dogs that people leave and she took a few of us with her and she goes back from time to time to try to help all the other dogs that the families are have left. God blessed me for her to find me so hot outside. There's no water, no food.. The lady that picked us up. Her name is Angela. She promised me and are my friends that we would never have to go and be alone again. So now we're looking for my forever family.. If you're interested in me, please call Addie at 216-205-2647 I'm just so happy that Angela doesn't have the heart to leave . So give me a shot. I promise to be loyal and love you! Please reach out to Addie Thanks for listening to my story

Story
My start in life was really rough. I was found in an abandoned house at only six months old, underweight, with crusted-over eyes, almost no hair, and shaking from fear. I didn’t know anyone or anything, and everything felt scary. After just three days in the shelter, I was on the euthanasia list, but my amazing Rottweiler rescue couldn’t let me die. They saw how much life I still had to give and knew I had the heart and energy of a big dog just waiting to shine 🐾 Since coming into foster care, I have really come out of my shell. I love running around with other dogs, going on walks, and crawling into your lap for snuggles. I have even learned how to play with toys, which is a lot of fun! I am a very calm guy who spends most of the day resting, and I would be perfectly happy just hanging out on your lap. I just need a little time to fully open up. My hair will grow back, and soon I’ll be a completely normal, happy, and healthy dog. If you are looking for a gentle, loving boy who has overcome a tough start, has a big heart, and just needs patience and love to flourish, I’m your guy 🐾💙

Gourd is a timid fella who can take a while to warm up to people. He has made a lot of progress through the ASPCA's Behavioral Rehabilitation Center and is learning to be brave! He'll need a patient home that gives him time to decompress and help him learn that the world isn't so scary! He likes to go on walks and does well with calmer dogs who don't overwhelm him. Gourd's heart is as big as his ears and all he needs is for someone to give him a chance! With a little bit of TLC (tacos, love and care), this goofy guy could become your new best friend. Come and meet Gourd today!

Story
Please contact Jamie (jamie@pawsandprayers.org) for more information about this pet.  Meet the snuggle sensation, Puppy Summer! This bundle of joy lives for cuddles and playtime galore. She's practically a house-training prodigy, snoozing in her crate all night like a champ. Just two 30-minute strolls a day keep her tail wagging. Summer's still mastering the art of leash walking, but her foster parent is on the case. She's a pro car rider and gets along with other dogs, though she might play queen bee, so slow intros are key. With her herding instincts, she's not the best roommate for cats or tiny tots. She's a bundle of affection and a real smarty-paws! Summer's got a heart as big as her puppy eyes! Summer's adoption fee is $350.00 Australian Cattle Dogs are brainy, fiercely loyal, and packed with energy, making them stellar sidekicks for active families who can keep up with their boundless spirit and love for learning. Their high-octane nature means they can turn into little whirlwinds of mischief or anxiety if left to twiddle their paws too long. Not the best fit for first-time owners or apartment life, but for the right, savvy human who gets their quirks, these dogs are pure gold. All Paws and Prayers animals are up to date on vaccinations (age appropriate) and are given monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Adoption fee also includes spay / neuter and microchipping. Please complete a non-obligatory adoption application at https://pawsandprayers.org/adoption-application/ Please read the entire bio before emailing the foster with questions. Meet and greets are not arranged unless an adoption application is filled out and approved and are by appointment only.  Resident pets of all applicants must have had routine veterinary care, be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines per the recommendations of your vet, current on heartworm tests and prevention (dogs only). We will verify these records; giving your veterinarian permission to speak with us will help expedite the processing of your application.  Should your pet have a medical issue that may prohibit any of these, please note that on your application and we will also verify this with your veterinarian. Inquiries submitted through Petfinder or other third-party websites do not submit as applications in our database. December 12, 2025, 4:06 am

Story
Meet Reggie. Reggie is a 5-year-young male Australian Shepherd weighing 93 pounds of fluffy, gentle goodness. This sweet boy somehow found himself without anyone to claim him, but we know his perfect family is out there just waiting to meet him.Shelter life can be a little overwhelming, so Reggie is shy in his kennel — but don’t let that fool you. He’s very friendly, just a sensitive soul taking it all in. Once you get him outside, he truly enjoys his walks, and you might even catch a little tail wag. Reggie keeps his kennel clean and he is not a barker. Unlike many Aussies, Reggie has a low energy level. He’s not looking to run a marathon — he’d much prefer leisurely strolls and then relaxing by your side. He does have a little junk in the trunk at the moment, but with regular walks and some consistency, he’ll have that beach body ready in time for summer. We are looking for a home environment for Reggie. No apartments for him. Because he was found as a stray, we don’t have much history on him. Compatibility with children, cats, and other dogs is unknown. In the shelter environment, Reggie seems unfazed by the other dogs. As always, a meet and greet with your resident canine is required.Reggie is available through our foster-to-adopt program, which includes vaccinations, microchipping, and heartworm testing. You get to foster him in your home while he finishes his vetting at the shelter vet. He is already neutered and ready to start his next chapter. If you’re ready to meet this sweet, shy boy and give him the loving home he’s been waiting for, email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and submit an online adoption application for Reggie. His adoption fee is $160.Help this gentle soul finally find the safe, cozy home he deserves.
