Story
Meet Copper! Copper is a very sweet, playful guy! He is approximately 4 years old, and at his last vet visit weighed in at 60 pounds. We think Copper probably has some Australian Shepherd, along with several other breeds including possibly Belgian Shepherd, Greyhound or Carolina dog. Copper is a beautiful and happy boy. He’s lucky to be alive! Copper came to us from the shelter at a time when he was minutes from losing his life because he had an upper respiratory infection. We are so glad he is with us now, and he is in a training program getting ready for his forever home! Copper does well in a crate, he also does well on a leash. Copper would love to be a hiking or running buddy! His foster mom said he is doing well at learning house training. Copper loves to play with his doggy friends especially tug-of-war with the big rope toys and will do wonderful at a daycare or dog park with other active and playful dogs! Interested in becoming a forever home for Copper? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws. We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Copper. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Copper the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $175. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
Our tiny miracle with the ultimate glow-up story is finally ready to be adopted! Please share Fig’s story and let’s find him the home he deserves ❤️ At just one week old, Fig arrived at rescue barely bigger than your hand — fragile, fighting, and needing tube-feedings around the clock. His first weeks of life were spent tucked close, fed gently and carefully, every single meal a tiny victory. Then came a diagnosis no puppy should face at 3½ weeks old: megaesophagus. But Fig? He didn’t read the odds. Picture this: a wiggly baby propped upright for every feeding, medication on board, foster mom cheering him on like he was winning Olympic gold instead of just finishing breakfast. Day by day, ounce by ounce, he grew stronger. And then — the miracle. By three months old, advanced testing showed something incredible: his condition was resolving. The medication? Gone. The feeding chair? Retired. The fear? Replaced with celebration. 🎉 Fast-forward to today… Fig is a thriving, happy 7-month-old bundle of joy who eats and drinks like any other dog. His only “special request”? A splash of water on his kibble. No soaking. No complicated routine. Just add water and serve with love. Because his early weeks were spent so closely bonded to his foster mom, Fig loves deeply and attaches hard. A new home may feel big at first — but once he knows he’s safe, he absolutely blooms. And when he blooms? It’s a full production. 🌟 He adores people. 🌟 He LOVES other dogs. 🌟 He brings main-character energy to every play session. Fig is the life of the party! He’s the one rallying the group for “just one more round” of zoomies. He would thrive with larger, playful dogs who can match his enthusiasm. Tiny pups might find his enthusiastic wrestling style a bit… ambitious. 😅 He’s making great progress with potty training and does best with a steady routine. He understands what to do but he just sometimes can’t quite hold it as long as he plans. Puppy life! Fetch? Quickly becoming his favorite hobby. Cats? He treats them like mildly confusing dog siblings — attempts play, shrugs at rejection, trots away without a care in the world. ✔️Fig is resilient. ✔️Fig is joyful. ✔️Fig is goofy, affectionate, and overflowing with gratitude for a life he fought hard to Now he’s ready for his forever chapter. Are you ready for yours? 💛 ✅ Neutered ✅ Up to date on all vaccines & heartworm preventative ✅ Microchipped 💲 Adoption fee: $250 👉 Apply to adopt Fig: https://foreveryoursokc.org/adoption-application/

Story
Neville is 8 years old. We bought him through Craigslist when we first got married. We have decided to rehome him because he has growled a few times at our toddler. He seems to do fine with babies and older kids, but not toddlers. We are also a military family and deployments have gotten too difficult with young kids and two dogs to take care of. So, we would love to find him a loving home that would give him the attention he deserves. He loves being around other dogs, going on walks, cuddling, and being petted. He will follow you around like he’s your little shadow once he’s attached to you. He’s not currently up to date on vaccines but will get him up to date before he is adopted. He will come with a dog bed, food bowl, and a collar. He used to stay in a kennel but doesn’t anymore. If you want a kennel, we might still have it for you.
