Rusty, Sweet neutered male, is a bit shy at first but warms up to people quickly. Rusty plays well with other dogs and is curious about cats. He lives in a home with five cats, 2 dogs and a 7 year old. He loves playing fetch with the ball and is working on bringing it back and dropping the ball. Rusty does well in his kennel at night, and when no one is home. He uses a dog door and is house trained. Rusty likes to go on walks however it is best to go early in the morning or late in the day when there is not a lot of traffic or people. He gets scared by the cars. And since we have no idea what kind f life he had before he was saved by the rescue, it is just something he needs practice and confidence building ;) Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Meet Gretel (aka Liza Jean) This adorable little masked bandit will steal your heart and your blanket- and no she is NOT wearing a mask! That is her gorgeous coloring!! She's so full of love and energy in an adorable little package. Her foster mom says, "She's been an amazing playmate for our dog! She will play hard and love hard. She just seems to know when I need extra love- I have had some medical issues lately so TONS of cuddles from this wonderful pup. It's not a typical kind of cuddle, she has her OWN love language. The little darling will snuggle her head on me with her butt in the air- the whole cuddle session. When she's satisfied she's given enough love, she'll flop down asking for her OWN belly rubs. This kiddo can't get enough of em. She's gotten along with my dogs and with supervision she's learning to be ok with my cats. We're still working on the cats part. She just so so so wants to have her own family who will play with her, let her cuddle them and then give her the celebratory belly rubs. Not TOO much to ask for this very smart and very happy girl!" The name of Chili is actually a brilliant name for me :) I am pretty chilled and am kind of like a mild Chili for dinner. She is a gorgeous dog with a personality that shines brighter the more you get to know her. -She is completely housebroken, has never destroyed anything in the home, knows how to use the doggie door. -Loves toys, playing fetch, playing with flirt pole, daily walks, care rides and TREATS! She is very treat motivated. -She's a devoted companion, once she decides you are her person she will be your shadow. -She needs slow introductions and time to settle in and feel safe. Until she gets to know you, she does not like people getting to close or trying to pet her. After she has decided you are her friend she will run up and beg for attention (and treats). -Happiest with steady, gentle company. Would likely not do well with young children or a "high energy" household -She does not really "play" with other dogs but will share space companionably with other dogs as long as they give her space. -Gets trigged by the doorbell and "strangers" entering the house and will bark like crazy. (She is a great watch dog and has decided her job is to protect the house). Again, slow intros help and also having the new person shower her with treats when they arrive. We have also just put her in room when strangers arrive then let her out later when things calm down and she does OK. - Piper has a previous leg injury that never healed correctly. She needs daily pain medication to manage this or else she starts favoring that leg and limping. If she takes the meds, she does great and walks/plays with no problem. -She takes daily antianxiety medication, and this has made a huge difference in her personality and really helped ease her transition to a new home.
