Deep down, though, I’m so very sweet—I just need the safety and kindness to show you. My sweetness shines in small ways, like the way I watch carefully with soft eyes, or the way I long to follow when someone kind passes by. I need a calm home, maybe with another kind dog to show me the way. I would do best with adults or older children who understand that I’m still finding my footing. Whether I get adopted with Nathan or on my own, what I dream of most is the same: a place where I can exhale. A family that won’t leave me behind. A quiet corner where I can rest, knowing I am safe.
