Story
This sweet girl was pulled from a high kill shelter with her sister right before the cold weather hit. The facility reached out to us and we couldn't say no. A cold kennel was no place for a 7 lb puppy. The girls are so sweet and affectionate, they love toys and love to snuggle. Aspen loves her belly rubbed while she lies in your lap. She is also a very active little girl and would make a great companion for that active person. But she promises to be a couch potato as needed too. Aspen can be a bit shy with new people, but she is very loyal and gentle. If interested in meeting Aspen please email us.

Story
This sweet boy was pulled from death row at animal control. He and his sister didn't have much time left. Vinnie has a very kind personality, skittish at first but will warm up when he gets to know you. He is a bit frightened of being touched or held so you just have to work with his terms. He will allow affection, but on his terms and when he is in the mood. We assume he did not receive much affection or care, if at all, but he still is just waiting on his forever home to love. Vinnie does like other dogs, loves toys, seems to be crate trained a bit. Vinnie is a great boy, with so much potential in the right home, he would probably do best in a quiet home without small children and he IS a flight risk, and will need an experience adopter. We hope that you will give him a chance.

Meet Sarge! 🐾🤍 Sarge was found as a tiny, motherless puppy with his littermates in Laredo and has been thriving in foster care ever since. Born around December 1, 2025, he’s grown into a curious, playful boy with a striking white coat covered in adorable spots. Sarge loves exploring his surroundings and tumbling around with his siblings. He’s smart, sweet, and full of happy puppy energy, always ready for fun but just as ready to soak up affection. He’s great with other dogs and does not show any food aggression. We’re awaiting DNA results, but we suspect a heeler mix, with an estimated adult weight of 35–50 pounds. Heelers are known for being intelligent, loyal, and active companions who thrive with engaged families and plenty of mental and physical activity.

Fletcher was an owner turn in. The rest of his litter had found homes, so his owner reached out to us for help. He was born in an apartment so he did not get much exposure to the outdoors and is still getting use to it. He is a sweet boy, very active and playful, he loves toys, loves giving kisses and snuggling. Fletcher would make a great companion and family member. If interested in meeting Fletcher send us an email. He cannot leave until he is neutered but we are taking applications.

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org Meet Rosa – the Sweetest Soul with the Coolest Eyes in Texas! Rosa is a 2-year-old, 42-lb Australian Shepherd/Kelpie mix with a uniquely colored coat that makes her as beautiful outside as she is inside! She’s gentle, easygoing, and about as drama-free as they come. If dogs had a “Most Likely to Be Everyone’s Favorite” award, Rosa would win it paws down. This lovely girl gets along beautifully with just about everyone—people, dogs, kids, new situations—you name it. She’s calm, confident, and refreshingly mellow for an Aussie mix. Think less “whirling devilish herding machine” and more “professional couch companion with occasional zoomies.” And let’s talk about those eyes! Rosa has one stunning blue eye and one soulful brown eye. According to urban legend, that means she can see things in heaven and on earth at the same time. Pretty cool superpower, right? Basically, she’s part dog, part magical guardian angel. Rosa also comes fully loaded with excellent house manners: • Crate trained ✔ • Housebroken with a dog door ✔ • Walks beautifully on leash ✔ • Polite, well-behaved house guest ✔ • Expert at giving soft, grateful looks ✔ She enjoys relaxed strolls, cozy naps, and being near her people. She’s the kind of dog who fits seamlessly into your life like she’s always been there. Now, cats are a hard no, sorry cat lovers, she’s not a fan (she believes they are tiny, suspicious aliens), so a feline-free home is a must. But with dogs and humans? She’s an absolute dream. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, go-with-the-flow companion who will make every day brighter just by existing in it, Rosa is ready to be your girl. Apply today and let this two-toned-eyed sweetheart see straight into your heart 💙🤎🐾

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org Meet Jesse James – The Outlaw of No Boredom Here! 3 years old • 40 lbs • Border Collie Mix Extraordinaire This is Jesse James, and no — he won’t steal your money… but he WILL absolutely steal your heart, your couch spot, and possibly one sock when you’re not looking. Jesse is a 3-year-old, 40-pound bundle of brains, enthusiasm, and nonstop “whatcha doing and can I help?” energy. True to his Border Collie roots, this boy is SMART with a capital S. His mind is always working, his tail is always wagging, and he is always ready for the next mission. Need a hiking buddy? He volunteers. Need a running partner? He already tied his shoes. Need someone to supervise yard work, car rides, or snack-making? Jesse has clocked in and is on duty. He loves people, loves being involved, and believes personal space is optional when you’re part of the family. If you’re looking for a dog to quietly nap in the corner all day… Jesse respectfully declines that job offer. This handsome guy walks nicely on leash, learns quickly, and absolutely thrives when he has structure and something to do. Training? Games? Adventures? He’s in. He’d be amazing for an active person or family who understands that a tired Border Collie is a happy Border Collie. Jesse does great with other dogs and older kids who appreciate his enthusiastic, wiggly, sometimes goofy personality. Cats are currently a mystery — but knowing Jesse, he’d probably try to organize them into a committee. His ideal home? One that enjoys exercise, laughter, activity, and a dog who thinks life is meant to be FUN. A bored Jesse is a mischievous Jesse — but a busy Jesse is the happiest, most loyal best friend you could ask for. If you’re ready for a clever, affectionate, full-of-life sidekick who will keep you moving, smiling, and slightly entertained at all times, Jesse James is ready to ride off into the sunset with you. Apply today at haydudeequine.org — before this lovable bandit steals someone else’s heart!
