We were eager to take him in after learning about his fun temperament, and we cannot wait to see whose lives he will touch! This lovey boy is searching for a dedicated home and would be a great match for someone looking to add a puppy to their family. At just four months old, he is ready to soak up all the training and attention you can offer. Are you ready for a beautiful new day with a bright-eyed bestie? Apply to meet Mr. Blue Sky today!

Story
If you’re looking for the most devoted and committed dog that will forever be at your side - look no further-  Lulu is your gal. This sweet mama and her three pups found themselves with SNIPSA through Animal Care Service’s CASA program - an innovative program helping people and pets in the community before they become an official part of our city shelter. While Lulu was covered in ticks given their prevalence in South Texas, her spirit remained high. It was obvious she was dearly loved at one time. She lives for the ball and is more of a Retriever in a Blue Heeler body. She isn’t pushy or obnoxious. She just gently brings you the ball and patiently waits for you to throw it. The Blue Heeler breed is known for their intelligence, eagerness to please, obedience, and advantageous size.  Lulu loves the water, is learning about the indoors, will walk by your side on voice command, and willingly rolls over for a belly rub. Blue Heelers were originally bred to work cattle and thrive with a job. Thus, they may have a potential to “herd” so please be cognizant of this attribute when considering this breed. Heelers love to ride shotgun or anywhere in the vehicle :), typically do well with other animals, are athletic and sturdy and are often known as a “shadow” dog. They love their people and are unwavering in spirit. If you enjoy the outdoors, throwing the ball, or going for a walk or run, Lulu is a great candidate. Whoever adopts this girl is getting a jewel!! She is just a dream!

Who wants a puppy that makes everyone act goo goo? We know YOU DO! Alright, we know we can be a little cheesy at times, but these pups have a reason for rhyming. Their mama, Lulu, is just the best girl around, and she is teaching her babies all of her good manners. So far, this trio has learned how to seek out the best snacks, chase a ball and put on their cutest faces for the masses! It won’t be long before they find their forever homes, that’s for sure. Given that their mother is a Blue Heeler, these three will likely remain energetic come adulthood. They are already well-socialized with humans and other dogs, and seem incredibly eager to please. Given the proper training, any of these puppies will make a loyal and fun-loving playmate! Apply today!

Story
Chili is a 4yo Red Heeler, or Australian Cattle Dog. We took her in 2 years ago as a rescue. She has been a really good dog for us in that time. Recently, we took in another rescue, and they aren't getting along like we hoped. Chili isn't as high energy as most dogs of her breed. She is house trained, knows basic commands, and is ok in either a kennel or a dog bed. Chili is very affectionate as well.

Story
Clara is a 5 1/2 year old blue-heeler/terrier mix at about 32 lbs. She is an alert, intelligent and loyal dog that needs room to move and travels very well. We currently live in an apartment and new employment will require leaving a cattle dog in a confined place for longer than I am comfortable with. While she gets plenty of daily exercise the time I will be able to devote will have to stop next year. Am, ideally, seeking individuals(s) that have the room (yard or ranch) and are experienced dog owners. She has never been trained to herd but has the instincts and listens and obeys commands very well. She has only been trained with positive reinforcement techniques. I would require at least a few visits before agreeing to any adoption and am willing to travel to you. Please email or call me with whatever questions you may have. Thank you.

Story
Ludo is fully house broken, never destroyed anything, never messed in the house. He has a protective nature but is a big softy and cuddler at heart. He is acclimated to a busy work schedule and is perfectly fine being home alone during the day. He enjoys fetch and a short walk. He will do well in a home with children as he has been around them his whole life. He will do well with other pets as well, but would recommend him only being in a home with other dogs that are female.

Story
Sonic is sweet devoted and loyal to those he knows. However for any dog or human that he does not know he tends to be very aggressive loud and angry. Although he's only nipped at a few folks he's never actually bitten anyone else. We are both are unable to meet Sonic's needs of playtime outdoors and need to find a loving home ideally with no other dogs, just one or two people, that he can connect with and protect. Sonic was 2 years old on June 4th and he loves car rides!

Story
Hi! Beaux is a very sweet, friendly dog. He gets a long with any animal or person. He has never bitten anyone or shown any kind of aggression at all. He has tons of energy and loves to run and play. He is house trained. He was homeless, hungry and alone on the street crying in a thunderstorm so we took him in and have taken care of him as best we can. We unfortunately do not have the time to play with him as he deserves nor the financial resources to keep up with vet care and food. Im a single parent so money is extremely tight for me. I’m hoping to find a good home and family for him where can play and have room for him to run and be happy. I’d say he is around 2 years old. He gets anxiety around thunderstorms and fireworks and vacuums. Other than that he is always happy and his tail is always wagging. He is the Goodest Boy. He loves to cuddle and get belly scratches. I’d love to find someone to love him as much as he loves everyone. Thank you!

Story
Bingo is a very special dog that was adopted in January of 2020 by a beloved volunteer and friend of SNIPSA. As Bingo was passed over for adoption again and again, he found a special friend in SNIPSA’s dog walker, Kalvin. Day after day, week after week, Kalvin and Bingo went on afternoon walks. This special bond blossomed into best buds for life when Kalvin officially adopted Bingo. Devastatingly, Kalvin passed away in early November. While our hearts are broken for a friend lost too soon, we are committed to making sure Bingo finds a new family who can offer him just as much love (and as many walks) as dear Kalvin. A happy and energetic pup with a huge love of fetching toys, Bingo is also an epic cuddle bug! While his bond for his “human” is strong, he will do better as an only pet. This lover boy is eager to please and would make a doting, loyal companion. We are so invested in finding Bingo the right home that we enrolled him in doggy boot camp at Lone Star State K9. He has spent the past few weeks brushing up on his manners so he can be the best boy for his new owners. Bingo means the world to us and we hope he can find a fresh start in 2024. Will you be the one to offer Bingo another chance at happiness?
