FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks! --- Meet Bunny from the Easter litter. She and her siblings are the sweetest and smartest puppies. Bunny currently is fostered with big dogs and little dogs - she's playful with all of them, but she adores the Senior German Shepherd in the home. DNA just came in and what a fun mix of pups. DO NOT let the Great Pyrenees fool you - at 17 weeks old, she is only in the 26# pound range - the DNA weight guidelines actually said they would be in the 60# range when fully grown. Mommy is about 60#. Really, they are much smaller than the 'great pyrenees' would imply. Bunny is learning all things puppy - doing great at crate training, rocking housebreaking, and more! She plays with the fosters nieces and nephew too. She is the sweetest, gentlest girl. Quiet and cuddly. This puppy is spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated except for Rabies. Puppies are good with dogs, cats, kids and more. Being a puppy, they will need lots of training, including housebreaking. Remember, puppies are cute, but they have sharp teeth, need to be fed 3 times a day and poop... a lot! They might cry in their crate, might need a potty break in the middle of the night. They will pee and poop in your house - your fault ;) - and will chew on your shoes, your childrens toys and maybe even the furniture. But... once transitioned into your home, will be life long companions! The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for transitioning a rescue dog into its new home and helping it to settle in. It suggests that the first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training. Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption. Adoptions typically take place in Marysville. Adoption fee is $525. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible. Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sundays to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home. Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We dont ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.

Story
We got him from a breeder in Monroe, and he came home with us May 18th, 2024. We also have a German shepherd that he gets along with well. We also had a skittish cat that he didn't try to bother, though he didnt see her much. He will show his love with his entire body (hes an excited wiggler), and might piddle a smidge if he gets TOO excited but he will go to the door if he needs out. He will bark and lunge at other dogs when we are on walks, and if there are people jogging (we had 7 acres that he had free roam of and we moved to a no-yard cul-de-sac and hes not adjusting to so much noise and movement very well). We have young kids that he does well with but he is also very protective so he will bark at other kids that come over. He really needs space, and less distractions along with someone who will throw a ball for him and let him get his zoomies out. He also wants to sleep in your bed or sit on you when youre watching TV.

Story
This is Frodo. He is an almost 4 year old Australian Shepherd mix. He has quite a bit of energy but loves going to dog parks to run or chase a ball (still working on the bringing back part. lol) My wife and I recently had a baby who is almost two and since then he hasn’t been very nice to him. We do have another dog that he gets along with but she’s a female so maybe he’ll be good with dogs of his choosing or maybe only females. He is very sweet to his owners and older kids. He does need work in socializing. He’s fine when on a leash in public but still will occasionally growl at passersby. If he’s comfortable with you he’s also a very cuddly dog. All in all he is a good boy, he’s just not very fond of the baby and needs a little work in public which is why we need to rehome him.
