Story
Meet Shelby This sweet 3-year-old girl has had a tough journey. Shelby was once adopted, but sadly, her person passed away. After that, she was boarded at a kennel facility in Spring Valley, San Diego — and no one ever came back for her. Shelby is shy and timid, but behind those gentle eyes is a heart that just wants to feel safe and loved again. She’s been living in a kennel for far too long and deserves a patient, kind person who can show her what it means to have a real home. The Heroic Tail Rescue is stepping in to help Shelby find her forever family — and will even provide free training if needed to help her adjust and build confidence. If you’re ready to give Shelby the love and security she’s been waiting for, please send us a message or apply online at www.theheroictail.orgOctober 6, 2025, 2:30 am

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Check Me out ! Meet Wally, a cherished member of the Nut Crew. He and his siblings were rescued from a high-kill shelter in Downey, California, where their fearful mother faced euthanasia. The shelter was unaware of her pregnancy until she arrived and gave birth shortly after. ASR swiftly intervened to relocate this vulnerable family from the stressful shelter environment, saving their mother from being put down. Wally is the second biggest from the nut crew. He likes to be the one to instigate play time. He loves his down time to cuddle as well. Rapidly growing, he is expected to reach a medium-larger size of 60-70 lbs when fully grown. He is around 8.5 months old is house and leash trained. He's respectful of older pups and taking cues from other dogs. He knows commands like sit, lay down, and touch. He's active pup and loves chewing on his toys. He does well with kids but can be nervous with their unpredictable movements which may startle him. He sleeps soundly at night and has even coexisted with cats. He'd make a great companion for any family! His adoption fee of $495 includes vaccines, a microchip, and neuter. Story
Age: 2y Gender: Male Breed: Red heeler / Australian Shepherd mix Weight: 58 Personality: Jack is very shy at this time, especially with men. He does love and trust women. When left alone, he whimpers for a few minutes but then settles. Friendliness: Dogs: Yes Cats: Unknown Kids: Unknown Education: Bathroom and crate trained Favorite Activities: Getting pets and rubs, especially his ears and back of his head, getting naps Looking For: A calm home with a patient, understanding woman or a gentle family who doesn’t rush him. He can be in a home with another calm dog or as an only dog. Special Needs: He just needs patient humans to give him time to relax and gain trust Not to be cheesy but… this shy guy will melt your heart!  Hi! I’m Jack — a two-year-old, 58-pound red heeler/Australian shepherd mix with a gentle soul. I was rescued from the ESLR 2.0 hoarding situation in Mexico, and after everything I’ve been through, I’m slowly learning that the world can be kind. I just need a little time (and a lot of patience) to believe it. If you’re looking for an instant cuddle bug, I’m probably not your guy — at least not right away. I’m a cautious boy who needs to build trust slowly. It can take me several days or even weeks to feel comfortable enough to leave my crate or seek attention. But once I realize you’re safe, I start to thaw like warm cheesy guy that I am— gentle, sweet, and grateful for every bit of love you offer. I tend to bond with women. My foster mom is my favorite person, and my tail practically turns into a helicopter when she walks in the room. Men make me nervous, and it may take quite a bit longer for me to feel secure with them. I’ll be the most loyal, loving companion you could ask for! I’m house-trained, crate-trained, and very quiet. I don’t bark much (even at the mailman!) and I’m content to nap the day away while you work. I get along fine with calm dogs, though I’m not really interested in playing quite yet. A calm home,  ideally with a patient, understanding woman or a gentle family who doesn’t rush me — would be the cheddar to my mac. It might take time for me to come out of my shell, but I promise I’m worth it. Beneath my shy exterior is a dog who just wants to love and be loved. I’m just waiting for the right person to help me feel safe so I can shine! If you have a quiet home and a kind heart, I think we could make a grate match. My adoption fee is $350 and includes neuter, vaccinations, and microchip. Apply to meet me here: theanimalpad.org/adoption-application ##2566526##
