Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.**Meet Paloma: The Quirky Canine Queen of Chaos!** At approximately 6 dog years young, Paloma's journey from the dusty streets of Mexico to the comfort of a foster home is nothing short of a telenovela. Rescued with a motley crew of canines, she initially treated the rescue facility like a haunted house, only without the ghosts - unless you count her own ghost-like fear. Paloma's social resume reads like a Tinder profile for a canine comedian. She's a bit skittish in new situations, but once she's got the lay of the land, she struts around like the canine royalty she believes she is. Give her a dog her size, and she's the life of the party. But, oh, small dogs beware – Paloma's got a strong opinion about your stature, and she's not afraid to express it with a diva-like flair. She's a connoisseur of humans, with a preference for the XY chromosome club. Sorry, ladies, she's a bit of a man's dog. Foster dad, in particular, holds a special place in her heart. Paloma's morning routine is not for the faint of heart. Her breakfast anticipation reaches operatic levels, and she serenades the household with what can only be described as a dinosaur's morning aria. Earplugs recommended. Now, let's talk about trust falls. Forget team-building exercises; Paloma invented the trust fall. She randomly throws herself onto her back, demanding belly rubs. Special food? Check. Allergies? Check. Fashionable lint belly button? Double-check. Paloma is not just a dog; she's a symphony of quirks, a maestro of mischief, and a snuggle aficionado. Oh, did we mention she's an avid hiker and camper? Just kidding – she tried it once and hated it. Short walks are her jam – anything longer, and she'll give you the stink-eye that says, "Why are we not on the couch?" Adopt Paloma – because who needs a dull, ordinary pet when you can have the canine chaos queen herself?Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 14, 2024, 5:42 pm

He is likely a super Mutt and just a mix of a little bit of everything, we don't know but his future family can have the honors of testing him and see what you got!For now, what we can say you get in terms of personality is a FANTASTIC dog. A total sweetheart, he is just a good dog. Reo is great with dogs and humans (men, women, children) even alpha dogs really take to him. He is a young adult and a perfect medium size in the mid 30's and he can act like a puppy especially when he is happy to met dog friends and be silly with them. He seeks human attention and is very loving. He is a smart cookie and we are sure when he is adopted he will excel during puppy training classes with his adopter. Reo is not necessarily a high energy dog but he is an active, playful dog who will need an adopter who is looking for a fun companion who can be active either during walks, runs, hikes or dog parks. He would do well in apartment setting if an active adopter but having a yard is a great plus. Reo has lived in a foster home with younger kids and did wonderful. He has shown to be dog friendly with all size dogs. We have tested him with cats and did well, he has never lived with cats and we recommend our foster to adopt trials to make sure the family cats and Reo do well together. He is a healthy UTD on all medical dog who just had a dental in 2024 and more than READY for his forever family. Reo is crate trained and could use normal 101 puppy trianing for better leash manners to not pull he is just a wonderful sweet doggo. We would love for you to meet this beauty! She is such a special dog. She is a TRUE mutt. We have no idea what her breed is and we wouldn't be surprised she is a super mutt with anything from shepherd to pits to some small breed dogs. She is the perfect medium size dog in the mid 30s and a young adult dog who is NOT very active but active enough to be happy on walks, runs, hikes or even dog parks but also thrive in a home with a yard. We can see her doing well in an apartment seeting as long as her adopter is looking to take her off leash places (once trained for recall) so she can run and have fun. Maddie is SO loving. She is truly a great dog who does GREAT with all dogs and just wants to be friends, I mean if somebody wants to bossy or be a bully to her she won't have it and is not a push over but she is not interested in any shenanigans but be friends and have fun. She also ADORES humans from men, women and children alike. An ARWOB volunteer spend some time with Maddie in June and this is what she had to say: ......'Maddie was very excited and energetic when she first arrived to the adoption event, but it didn't take long for her to settle in and relax. She's literally the perfect size, <40-45 lbs, and I could see her DNA test coming back as primarily blue heeler/cattle dog and pit being the second breed. I saw the best qualities of both breeds in her.    She needs more practice walking on a leash, but was catching on quickly in the short time I was with her. I didn't experience any leash reactivity despite there being other leash reactive dogs at the event, but she managed those interactions well and did end up meeting a few new dogs from ARWOB with no issues. With more training and socialization on a leash, I would expect Maddie to have 0 leash issues in the future and her to be a very fun dog to walk with.    She was in the process of learning how to sit and it was very obvious that she'll be easily trainable as she was eager to please and she appreciated all of the 'Good Girl!' positive reinforcements as well as treats and pets for rewards. Maddie seemed to really crave human attention and interaction as she leaned or rubbed on me on many occasions. She was very sweet and gentle with the several kids that we interacted with during the event, so could fit into a family setting with kids of any age. '....... We would LOVE to find an adopter for her and in the meantime perhaps a foster home. Maddie has not been cat tested and we suggest a foster to adopt trial with her if you have kitties at home. Foster to adopt trials for any reason are GREAT as it allows adopters to really get to know the dogs before they adopt.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you would like to meet one of our animals, PLEASE fill out an adoption application. Story
How this pet arrived: This pet was brought in by their previous owner. Why this pet is the one for you:Look at Behemoth which means big and powerful and that describes him. He is also handsome with his multicolored coat including a fine white vest and cute white paws. He posed for his photo with a funny cock to his head and a look that says "aren't I cute?" Yes, he is. He will need a lot of protected outside space where a few barks will not get him into trouble because he sometimes barks for attention. We can help you redirect that behavior. He is a loyal and protective type but first he needs to trust his household. Take your time with him while he develops that trust. He might do better in an adult household that respects and understands his nature. Once he trusts, he will be all in with love and loyalty. Better if there are some treats and toys along the way for him. He may step onto a sofa or bed to get closer to his family. We hope you don't mind. If you are interested in meeting who might be the next member of your household, come to our San Diego campus and ask about big Behemoth. He's a great guy. At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 65.3125 Age: 3yrs 4mths 1wks

Story
We rescued Zora from a kill shelter several months ago. She is a very sweet, affectionate, and energetic dog. She will require the opportunity to go on long walks and runs. She's very playful and a wonderful hugger (her fur is soooo soft). She's very young. She was very good at using puppy pads, but has recently become confused as we're trying to train the dogs (we have 7) to go outside. She is very much a pleaser and will (usually) go to her crate when she's told. She loves to play with other doggies, but gets very nippy sometimes and terrorizes our pit bull who doesn't realize she could easily end Zora (and instead jumps in mommy's lap). We'd rather she never find that out. With my husband leaving the home (we are separating), the "alpha" is gone and Zora is now trying to assert dominance. Thus it's best for the other dogs and our preschooler if she lives elsewhere. We will miss her, but she's just too much for one small person to handle along with 6 other doggies.

Story
Per El Cajon Shelter: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler, red Merle, born 9-22-23. This is her second home. Currently 33 pounds. House broken, will scratch at door when she needs to go out. Decent on leash and good with other dogs though extremely hyper and still learning to stay down off people, counters. Extreme chewer, has chewed numerous cords, paper/cardboard, wood, but not furniture. Typical heeler, nips lightly at ankles and feet as you walk. She is a one master dog and listens better to my husband. Regrettably rehoming as 8 year old chihuahua hates her and she is too rough with our chickens. We have struggled with the decision to rehome for months. On vacation in Nevada she would wander approximately 1/4 mile from trailer, ate a bunch of crickets, hopped in the river/lakes while we were fishing. Does great in the backseat during long trips. Overall she is a good girl but definitely would prefer to be out on a ranch versus in a house.

Story
Jewel's story is a heartbreaking one. It took us over a year to get her. She had an owner in Rosarito Mexico, but he would not feed her and only used her for breeding and guarding the property. Her last 2 litters came into our rescue very sick because of his overwhelming neglect. He only surrendered them when he thought they were going to die and he didn't want to deal with that "inconvenience." But after her last litter passed away we used that as the momentum to finally push him to allow us to take her. Because of the laws in Mexico you cant just steal a dog that has a legal owner without physical abuse videoed so we needed his permission to take her. I'll never forget the first time she came in the house, she wanted to so badly, and the moment she realized that she now had a bed in the house she lost it! She has the sweetest and sunniest disposition we have ever met! All she wants is love and attention. Her favorite are hugs, they solve any situation. If she is naughty, she needs a hug. If its beautiful out, she wants a hug. She is very smart and learns new skills quickly. She will do anything for pets and snuggles!

Story
Meet Zion, a 1.5 year old Australian Cattle Dog surrendered to Woof Gang Rehab by his previous owners. True to the cattle dog breed standard, Zion is loyal, smart, alert, and wary of strangers. With Zion’s training, the issues he was having leading to his surrender are very well managed. Zion is working on proofing his advanced obedience training, walks very well on leash, and is reliable off leash. Zion is looking for an active home that will continue to implement structure and keep up with his training to keep setting him up for success. He would be an excellent sport dog for anyone interested in getting him into a competition sport and/or other active lifestyle like hiking, running, or camping. Zion is a happy boy and hasn’t met a person whose face he couldn’t put a smile on. He is extremely eager to please, his engagement with his handler is amazing, and he’s always ready to go, go, go! Zion gets along very well with foster sister Kimber (a lab). Kimber has shown Zion that strangers aren’t always danger and has helped his confidence with new people. All Zion wants is for his family and friends to PET HIM. Zion also does great with other dogs. Zion is available now, and is currently fostered out of San Diego, CA. Please follow his foster on IG, @cuddleswithkimber and @woofgangrehab to follow his training journey! Story
Awesome Jericho's Promise Jagger is available for adoption in Southern California! Super sweet boy looking for a family that likes leash walks only, or likes staying home without many visitors. He is a perfect boy at home with his people, but gets defensive/possibly protective of his family when others come over, or he meets them on walks. With his family, he is the sweetest boy, and very well behaved, he is potty trained, and crate trained. He gets along great with other dogs and is ok with cats. He gets along with children that he belongs to, but not children that he doesn't know well. He is apprx one year old. His mama is a dachshund/terrier mix, but he looks like he also has lab in his mix, and maybe a spaniel of some sort. Whatever he is, he is a GORGEOUS boy! Long curly hair, that is glossy black. He weighs about 35 pounds, so a great size for someone in an apartment that doesn't want a tiny dog. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. Please let me know if you would be interested in meeting him! Can transport throughout Southern California!

*Courtesy Post* (San Diego) This is Blue, he is an 8 year old neutered male. He is crate trained, and potty trained. He is a big lover, however very protective of his home and an alpha dog. He seems to have some anxiety/stress due to the foot traffic constantly passing his current home situation. He would be best in a home with a yard, and no other dogs. He is a super loyal dog, and does well in the car. Loves walks, and tug a war. If interested please contact Kim at (760)310-0325 kdietrich714@gmail.comJuly 12, 2024, 8:52 pm
