Story
She'll make sure you are fit n fine! That I am! I am Dr. LunchLady and I am a 4 years old, spayed female Aussie Cattledog, all of 27 lbs. I was rescued from ESLR and fostered by my working-dog savvy foster mom. I got adopted but my energy and drive wasn't a match for the home, so here I am! I know that there is a pawtastic home for me, and I will be running around there. I am incontinent and leak urine when relaxing without meds, so I am taking Proin (~$30 for a months supply, price varies on market value and where purchased). I am fully bathroom and leash trained and so smart that I am a honor roll student! I do have a high arousal state and can be leash reactive, more out of frustration than aggression. I mean, I don't mind other dogs, but want to check and make sure they have their license and registrations on them :) I am the Lunchlady! I am a classic working dog and happiest when mentally enriched. I am very sweet and loving with my people, but wary of strangers and take time to warm up.  Toys are my jam and food is my biggest motivator, and so is work! Give me tricks and tasks and watch me flourish! I get along with dogs, more like tolerant, and happiest when we are working together with my person. I do prefer having one confident dog companion. Cats and kids are not really my thing. I do show herding behavior and nervousness. I prefer being mellow at home rather than social trips. Even if taken to a restaurant, my panting is a clear sign of anxiety and shutting down, and not calmness (any dog savvy person will get it!). So being chill at home is ideal for me, and then doing fun stuff in the yard like frisbee, agility, herding, bite-work, obedience.  I would love a high-drive dog savvy person to be my furever human! Someone who sees my athletic and working instincts and performs dedicated activities with me routinely. I have started frisbee and just passed my herding instinct test with flying colors! I am good with other dogs and would do best with at least one, as a confident dog would help me let loose. However, I would be okay as an only dog too! I need an adults only and calm environment without too many strangers being in and out. Please check my IG for more of me @honeybaked_hamdog  If you think we can be a real cool activity loving pair, let's meet up! My adoption fee is $300 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/ ##1787508##

Story
The one with that golden paw! Hi guys! My name is Midas, and everything I touch, becomes my family! I am a 2 year old, 42 lb male Australian Cattledog mix. I have been fixed and working hard on my good manners. I am bathroom and crate trained and working on leash walking skills. So what’s that on my nose you ask? The very sign of human cruelty. I had a so-called owner who took a machete to my face and neck. Pris from Los Adoptables took me in very kindly and then TAP stepped in to bring me to my most amazing foster home. Pris cared for me and found out I was fully blind but with medical intervention, I have regained vision. I do have cataracts and partial retinal detachment. I will have a follow up with an eye specialist in about 3 months wherever my new family wants to take me and they can decide if I need a surgery at that point. Now that’s out of the way, let’s focus on my golden qualities. Do you like class clowns? I am that! I keep everyone in splits with my high energy fun loving nature and goofy antics. Being a cattledog, I love work and play and tricks and treats! From lounging on the couch watching tv to going to the park and playing for what seems like forever I am the boy that can do it all. I am very dog friendly and having a playful dog playmate will keep me so happy! I have met kids but not for long enough. But I sure am adaptable! My foster mama is astounded that in spite of seeing unexplainable cruelty, I have so much love in my heart! What can I say, I am the golden child afterall! I would love a home with a yard where I can play and hang out with my doggo sibling. I would love mental and physical enrichment and will make a great workout companion. And when you need a TV date? Just call me and we will be snuggle buddies. If you want that loving touch in your life, you better meet me! My adoption fee is $250 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/ ##1938594##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.**Meet Paloma: The Quirky Canine Queen of Chaos!** At approximately 6 dog years young, Paloma's journey from the dusty streets of Mexico to the comfort of a foster home is nothing short of a telenovela. Rescued with a motley crew of canines, she initially treated the rescue facility like a haunted house, only without the ghosts - unless you count her own ghost-like fear. Paloma's social resume reads like a Tinder profile for a canine comedian. She's a bit skittish in new situations, but once she's got the lay of the land, she struts around like the canine royalty she believes she is. Give her a dog her size, and she's the life of the party. But, oh, small dogs beware – Paloma's got a strong opinion about your stature, and she's not afraid to express it with a diva-like flair. She's a connoisseur of humans, with a preference for the XY chromosome club. Sorry, ladies, she's a bit of a man's dog. Foster dad, in particular, holds a special place in her heart. Paloma's morning routine is not for the faint of heart. Her breakfast anticipation reaches operatic levels, and she serenades the household with what can only be described as a dinosaur's morning aria. Earplugs recommended. Now, let's talk about trust falls. Forget team-building exercises; Paloma invented the trust fall. She randomly throws herself onto her back, demanding belly rubs. Special food? Check. Allergies? Check. Fashionable lint belly button? Double-check. Paloma is not just a dog; she's a symphony of quirks, a maestro of mischief, and a snuggle aficionado. Oh, did we mention she's an avid hiker and camper? Just kidding – she tried it once and hated it. Short walks are her jam – anything longer, and she'll give you the stink-eye that says, 'Why are we not on the couch?' Adopt Paloma – because who needs a dull, ordinary pet when you can have the canine chaos queen herself?Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 19, 2024, 5:20 pm

Story
This tiny puppy was found in Tijuana during a house fire! Both she  and her brother were rescued by the fire fighters and sent to a foster for recovery.  They ended up getting Parvo and recovering from it.  The brother called Flame, was adopted out.  Smoke aka Willow is still with us at her foster home.  She goes to dog park and has a lot of energy. ##1778999##

Story
We rescued Zora from a kill shelter several months ago. She is a very sweet, affectionate, and energetic dog. She will require the opportunity to go on long walks and runs. She's very playful and a wonderful hugger (her fur is soooo soft). She's very young. She was very good at using puppy pads, but has recently become confused as we're trying to train the dogs (we have 7) to go outside. She is very much a pleaser and will (usually) go to her crate when she's told. She loves to play with other doggies, but gets very nippy sometimes and terrorizes our pit bull who doesn't realize she could easily end Zora (and instead jumps in mommy's lap). We'd rather she never find that out. With my husband leaving the home (we are separating), the "alpha" is gone and Zora is now trying to assert dominance. Thus it's best for the other dogs and our preschooler if she lives elsewhere. We will miss her, but she's just too much for one small person to handle along with 6 other doggies.

Story
Per El Cajon Shelter: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler, red Merle, born 9-22-23. This is her second home. Currently 33 pounds. House broken, will scratch at door when she needs to go out. Decent on leash and good with other dogs though extremely hyper and still learning to stay down off people, counters. Extreme chewer, has chewed numerous cords, paper/cardboard, wood, but not furniture. Typical heeler, nips lightly at ankles. Regrettably rehoming as 8 year old chihuahua hates her and she is too rough with our chickens. We have struggled with the decision to rehome and considered training class but recent Achilles surgery has limited our mobility. We love her and have saved baby teeth and would be very happy to stay involved, should her new home not work or she just needs a play date.

Story
Jewel's story is a heartbreaking one. It took us over a year to get her. She had an owner in Rosarito Mexico, but he would not feed her and only used her for breeding and guarding the property. Her last 2 litters came into our rescue very sick because of his overwhelming neglect. He only surrendered them when he thought they were going to die and he didn't want to deal with that "inconvenience." But after her last litter passed away we used that as the momentum to finally push him to allow us to take her. Because of the laws in Mexico you cant just steal a dog that has a legal owner without physical abuse videoed so we needed his permission to take her. I'll never forget the first time she came in the house, she wanted to so badly, and the moment she realized that she now had a bed in the house she lost it! She has the sweetest and sunniest disposition we have ever met! All she wants is love and attention. Her favorite are hugs, they solve any situation. If she is naughty, she needs a hug. If its beautiful out, she wants a hug. She is very smart and learns new skills quickly. She will do anything for pets and snuggles!

Story
Meet Zion, a 1.5 year old Australian Cattle Dog surrendered to Woof Gang Rehab by his previous owners. True to the cattle dog breed standard, Zion is loyal, smart, alert, and wary of strangers. With Zion’s training, the issues he was having leading to his surrender are very well managed. Zion is working on proofing his advanced obedience training, walks very well on leash, and is reliable off leash. Zion is looking for an active home that will continue to implement structure and keep up with his training to keep setting him up for success. He would be an excellent sport dog for anyone interested in getting him into a competition sport and/or other active lifestyle like hiking, running, or camping. Zion is a happy boy and hasn’t met a person whose face he couldn’t put a smile on. He is extremely eager to please, his engagement with his handler is amazing, and he’s always ready to go, go, go! Zion gets along very well with foster sister Kimber (a lab). Kimber has shown Zion that strangers aren’t always danger and has helped his confidence with new people. All Zion wants is for his family and friends to PET HIM. Zion also does great with other dogs. Zion is available now, and is currently fostered out of San Diego, CA. Please follow his foster on IG, @cuddleswithkimber and @woofgangrehab to follow his training journey! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Gentle, sweet and a little bit shy, but absolutely gorgeous!Meet Kona, a gorgeous, furry white and brown female pup who was rescued along with her littermates after being found in the desert with their mama in La Paz, BCS, Mexico. Kona is a little bit shy, but very gentle and sweet. She loves to snuggle in your arms and give you kisses when you pick her up, and her fur is oh so soft! Kona was rescued when she was just a few weeks old, and grew up in a foster home with good vet care, food, and lots of love and attention. Her mama is a small/medium sized terrier mix around 30 lbs, and we think there is some Shar Pei in this litter from the dad's side, but Kona looks like an Aussie shepherd mixed with a little husky. She is sterilized, vaccinated and ready to find her forever family! Story
Awesome Jericho's Promise Jagger is available for adoption in Southern California! Super sweet boy looking for a family that likes leash walks only, or likes staying home without many visitors. He is a perfect boy at home with his people, but gets defensive/possibly protective of his family when others come over, or he meets them on walks. With his family, he is the sweetest boy, and very well behaved, he is potty trained, and crate trained. He gets along great with other dogs and is ok with cats. He gets along with children that he belongs to, but not children that he doesn't know well. He is apprx one year old. His mama is a dachshund/terrier mix, but he looks like he also has lab in his mix, and maybe a spaniel of some sort. Whatever he is, he is a GORGEOUS boy! Long curly hair, that is glossy black. He weighs about 35 pounds, so a great size for someone in an apartment that doesn't want a tiny dog. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. Please let me know if you would be interested in meeting him! Can transport throughout Southern California!

*Courtesy Post* (San Diego) This is Blue, he is an 8 year old neutered male. He is crate trained, and potty trained. He is a big lover, however very protective of his home and an alpha dog. He seems to have some anxiety/stress due to the foot traffic constantly passing his current home situation. He would be best in a home with a yard, and no other dogs. He is a super loyal dog, and does well in the car. Loves walks, and tug a war. If interested please contact Kim at (760)310-0325 kdietrich714@gmail.comApril 16, 2024, 12:05 am
