Story
Meet Ripley 💛 Ripley is a loyal, affectionate cuddle bug who bonds deeply with her person and loves nothing more than snuggling up close. She’s pretty chill at home most of the time, but she also has an adventurous side — she loves hiking, swimming, and being outdoors, then coming home to relax right by your side. Ripley is potty trained and crate trained, and her crate is her safe space. She does best when she has structure and supervision — when she gets bored, she can become destructive, so she cannot be left alone outside of her crate. (Her favorite chew toy is… a Birkenstock shoe, so hide yours ) Ripley has done training and has made big improvements, but she can still be reactive with dogs behind fences (especially if the other dog starts barking), and she may react to fast-moving things like scooters, bikes, and joggers, so we avoid those situations as much as possible. Ripley would thrive in a home where she is the only dog, so she can fully relax.

Story
Nyx is 5 and turns 6 in April. Her original family was relocated to Japan due to military orders and;t able to take her with them and asked me to take her in. I cannot support having 2 dogs now due to my schedule and having a newborn. She does best with a male in the house. She is crate trained and is house trained. She loves other dogs but is unsure about cats. I don’t have her records because her original owners haven’t gotten them to me and I can’t access them at the vet office because I haven’t been added to her file but her shots are due in April.

Story
Meet Edison or Edi... Edi is a perfect dog, he's loving, well trained and very easy. We adopted Edi when he was four months old, he was at the humane society after being returned by two families after learning he was deaf. I did not want a deaf dog, my wife fell in love and we adopted Reggie and renamed him Edison. As it turned out, having a deaf dog was so much better than expected. We taught him signs, he stays close and is content just lounging in the sun. The only downside we found was we don't let him off leash around other dogs because they get too aggressive and he barks at the mailman. Edi is now seven and we have a newborn so are looking to find a good home as the newborn is too much for Edi and he's increasingly anxious. Edi will be a perfect dog for a family without other dogs or cats with no kids or older kids. We are located in Point Loma San Diego and will be working to find Edi the perfect home he deserves.

Story
Brisket is an Australian Shepherd mix with a big heart and lots of personality. Adopted in 2019 at around 2 years old, he’s a loyal dog who loves being close to his people. He is big on cuddling and showing his affection. He thrives on attention and would do best in a home with adults or older children who can give him the focus he enjoys and to help him burn energy off. He loves the play frisbee, go for walks, and lay out in the shade. Brisket is house-trained and smart, with tons of potential to grow with continued training. Affectionately known as our “alarm,” he’ll happily let you know when someone is approaching the door. Due to frequent military moves and changing schedules, we’re hoping to find him a stable, loving home where he can truly shine and get the attention he deserves.

Story
A great companion! Hi, friends! My name is Alonso, and I’ve come all the way from Tijuana to find my furever home!   I’m a 7 year old old Border Collie mix male, who weighs 45 pounds.  I’m potty-trained, house-trained, and leash-trained, and I’ve already been neutered, too.  As far as my health goes, I’m on Royal Canin Vet Diet Adult Gastrointentinal Low Fat Dry dog to help manage my kidney issues.  I also have limited vision in my right eye and am blind in my left eye, so I am currently on Prednisone acetate, which costs ~$20 a bottle, depending on the market value and where it is purchased and Optixcare Plus lubricant,  (~$15 a tube, depending on the market value and where it is purchased). I also take Telmisartan to manage my high blood pressure (~$15.00 for 3 month supply, depending on market value and where purchased).   I’m the sweetest boy! I love my humans and to be spoiled by them.  My favorite activities include cuddling on the couch, sun-bathing in the yard, napping during the day, getting belly rubs, and going for car rides and walks in the neighborhood.  I’m generally a pretty mellow type of guy, but I do get zoomies in the backyard, and I like to play fetch, too.  Although I love having company, I also do fine on my own with very little signs of separation anxiety. I’d prefer to be the only animal in the home since I don’t do well around other doggies or kitties.  Older kids (eight and older), though, would be a great fit for me. Basically, as long as I have plenty of time around my people, I will thrive be my best self! "The Animal Pad recognizes that taking in a new dog can pose a challenge to the entire family. Alonso’s adoption package includes a FREE four-week scholarship with our partner Goodpup (https://goodpup.com/). Goodpup offers virtual, individualized training to ensure you, your dog, and your family have the skills needed to thrive together. GoodPup Scholarships include: 4+ weeks of positive reinforcement training 24/7 chat for questions and support Access to a behavior team to assist in advanced cases" Do I sound like two paws up to you? If so, my adoption fee is $250 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.  If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/.   ##1495460##

Story
Meet Dutch🤎, a stunningly handsome and charming almost 2-year-old boy with a rich, chocolate-brown coat and captivating blue eyes that sparkle with kindness🥰. This loving boy was welcomed into a wonderful family in the San Diego area about 8 months ago. Initially, Dutch was more reserved and fearful when rescued from the shelter, but with time, he blossomed into a confident companion for his family, except for the husband, around whom he seems anxious and stressed. Despite the husband's patient and loving approach, Dutch remains wary, prompting his family to consider finding a new home where he can thrive without fear. With his current family, Dutch has formed strong bonds with the wife and kids, who adore him dearly, but they've come to realize that a woman-only household might be the perfect solution for Dutch to live a stress-free life. His family believes Dutch may have had a negative experience with a man in the past, which has led to his hesitation around men unless they exhibit familiar characteristics. Importantly, Dutch has never shown aggression and is great with cats and other dogs, making him an excellent addition to any household. He's potty-trained, crate-trained, and loves spending time in his crate and bed. Dutch is neutered, vaccinated, and chipped, and his current family is heartbroken but hopeful that he'll find a loving home🏡 where he can receive all the love and care he deserves. If you're thinking of adding a loving companion to your family and believe you'd be the perfect match for Dutch, get your application in ASAP! This gorgeous boy will undoubtedly capture your heart💗with his loving nature.😻
