Story
Ekko, is a nice dog and a goofball. He is active and would like some interaction. BUT he has some problems. He owns stuff and he wants to keep it. This dog needs to get to know and trust you, so no kids, cats and needs experienced adopters who have knowledge about resource guarding. Ark Rescue dogs are available for adoption to homes in the Alabama and Tennessee Valley area only. We do require a secure fenced-in yard to adopt our larger dogs.

Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Huntsville, AL Meet Liberty! He is an 3 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 45 lbs. He is neutered and microchipped, but isn’t up to date on shots or on heartworm prevention. Liberty is good with kids and dogs! He hasn’t been tested around cats. Liberty bit the owner’s husband. This happened when her husband was trying to get him to go into another room. Liberty evaded him and went around the table and then underneath it. When he came out from under the table, her husband tried to steer him by his scruff (Liberty wasn’t wearing a collar) and re-direct him. That is when Liberty bit him. The owner is surrendering him because he bit her husband. He needs to find a new furever home as soon as possible! If you think you can provide a great home for Liberty, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Liberty. Owner’s Contact Information: Nicole Herceg at nicemmert@gmail.com.

Story
This is Stimpy. A 2 year old Australian Shepard mix(we think). He was found with a female stray (see additional listing) at a park in Baileyton, AL. He is a good boy with a few quirks. He is territorial around male dogs, but does fine with female dogs. We have had him for about 5 months and there hasn’t been an issue with my other male dog, but we keep a close eye. He gets along great with my other female dog and the female he was found with. He loves to cuddle, go for car rides and play with his toys. Tennis balls are his favorite. 10/10 good boy. He would be a great companion for someone who doesn’t have pets or has only female pets!
