Story
Eddy is a herding dog enthusiast's delight. He appears to be a mix of Australian Shepherd and Australian Cattle Dog, which is known as a 'Texas heeler'. He is bred merle to merle, resulting in deafness. He's a handsome and unique looking boy who is affectionate, loves to sit for cookies. He hails from the Apple Valley shelter, picked up as a stray. He's very affectionate, and he's a pretty gentle boy. He has a unique temperament. Eddie's kind of on his own planet. We find his quirkiness to be really endearing and he's grateful for every minute of attention. He's an unshakably happy and calm boy. Eddie came from the shelter with a rash that turned out to be a nasty staph infection. It spread like wildfire and he lost most of his coat. The infection is finally gone after treating it several times, leaving Eddie with a thin coat. He takes a very inexpensive supplement to help with his coat. To meet Eddie, please complete our on-line adoption application: http://www.deafdogrescueofamerica.org/adoption-application.html   Please note that we are unable to respond to inquiries, emails or phone calls. Our adoption process starts with completion/submission of an application for adoption. All applications are reviewed as quickly as we can, and our adoption process is not first come, first served. We select our adoptive homes according to what our dogs/puppies require. If you are selected as an appropriate match, you will be contacted to set an appointment to visit the Ranch and meet Eddie.  April 17, 2024, 12:04 am

Story
I will never understand how dogs like Lily land in the shelter sytem. She was brought into West Valley Animal Shelter as a stray and not even 24 hours later had 4 puppies. She came into our care and has shown us just how wonderful of a dog she is. Lily is people friendly, kid friendly, and dog friendly. She is a great size and almost a little overweight. Its evident that she hasn't had much experince as a true dog, but she wants to learn! Lily is figuring out toys, but doesn't understand "fetch". She is getting more comfortable with her crate and is doing great learning leash skills. She has come a long way and will continue to blossom into a magnificent dog. The groomer said she was a "perfect angle" at her grooming, and the vet says shes under two years old. Serioulsy, GEM!   Thank you for wanting to adopt from Hank's Legacy Foundation. See a pet that you want to adopt or foster?  Please start by filling out the foster or adoption application on our website. Applications are required to be filled out before meeting a pet.  ##1918317##

Story
*Orange County home preferred!!* I found Winnie and her sister together, abandoned in the Antelope Valley when they were three months old. I have since moved to Huntington Beach, and these amazing fosters are ready for their fur-ever homes at 7-8 months old! I have House trained them and e-collar trained them and recently spayed them. I have socialized them at the dog park and on walks and they are the sweetest souls on planet earth. It breaks my heart to see one of them go but because they are littermates and the same age, they need to be separated. Winnie has a lot of energy and will need a dog companion at her new home. She is still fearful of skateboards, but with patience, that can be trained! I’m asking for a high fee because she will come with training, a $1200 crate + blankets (she will chew through a wire crate), $200 e collar, microchip, spay, and food/toys/toothbrush/treats to get you through the first few weeks. Experienced inquiries only!
