Story
I got Max when he was a 5 month old pup. He seemed a bit shy at first, but warmed up to us after some treats. After bringing him home, I noticed within a week that he did not take kindly to strangers. He would need to warm up to everyone he meets, and would fearfully bite any stranger trying to pet him. Fast forward to today, he is now a 14-month-old beautiful looking dog. He is very smart and energetic, and responds well to his commands (sit, stay, come) and is protective and loving to his family, but his fear aggression toward strangers is still very present. He has bitten a couple people and I am fearful of him biting more. One thing to note, however, is that he LOVES other dogs and can play with them all day. Unfortunately, he just has this biting problem that I can't seem to control, and it lowers my confidence as his owner. As much as I love Max, I decided it is best to rehome him to someone who can give him what he needs.

Breanna IS AVAILALBE (updated 04-04-2025).To meet any of our dogs you must first complete our online adoption application on our website. For more information and the adoption application for Breanna, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=22826&name=BreannaBreanna is one of five puppies that recently came to Orange County to join the Coastal GSR family. She appears to be a mix of Australian Shepherd and possibly German Shepherd. She is one of two girls. She is a little more easy going than her sister Britta though the two of them love to play with each other. Breanna loves the other dogs in her foster home but really loves the people. She likes to be snuggled and cuddled.Breanna and her siblings were found in an Orange Grove by a Good Samaritan who brought them to his house. Originally there were 8 puppies and the original foster found homes for three. The puppies did not appear to have been in the Orange Grove for very long. They were in good shape and were very social and playful. Breanna would do well in a home where people are around and will pay attention to her. She can use a dog door already and is 99% housebroken and she sleeps in a crate. The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.April 4, 2025, 4:17 pm

Story
Gentle and loving 1 year old pup, Whiskey, was rescued from the San Bernardino high-kill shelter. He was found very under-weight and with kennel cough. He was on the euthanasia list and since no rescue stepped in, I am fostering him. Now healthy and recently neutered, he is ready to meet his new parents! He is good with other dogs, very calm and loves to cuddle. Unsure how he is around cats or kids. Please help me find this sweet pup his forever home. Meet and greets welcome. 💙

Story
Kiara is going to be four years old on July 12th she was a gift to us from a family friend that breeds Australian shepherds and German shepherds but Kiara was born not a full breed so they were giving her away. She’s been our baby ever since she’s sweet and loves on her human siblings so much. She loves cuddles and kisses. She’s active and loves walks she’s an indoor dog so she gets so happy to be outside she needs someone that will match her energy. Someone that will love her for her. Someone that will give her the time of day. Kiara is an indoor dog but lived half a year with our parents outdoors and was perfectly fine. She can transition easily indoor to outdoor she’s very smart. Kiara is used to showering after being walked or just washing her paws she jumps into the bathtub and waits for her paws to be washed. We come from a no shoes inside the house. She learns very quickly
