Story
Hi! Cocoa is a VERY sweet pup who turned 1 year old on 1/10/2025. I adopted him from a breeder when he was 2 months old. He just got his yearly vaccines, he weighs 42 pounds, he's very healthy and is crate and house trained. I love him but I have to rehome him because I recently had to downsize to a tiny 1-bedroom apartment, and he needs more space due to his energy level. I also feel I need to rehome him because of my work schedule. Cocoa needs more exercise than I am currently able to provide. Cocoa would be best off with someone who has a yard for him to run in and having other dogs would be a BIG plus. Cocoa gets SO excited when he gets to be around other dogs! The adoption fee covers his vaccines (you'll get a copy of his vet/vaccine records, which were just updated today... 5/15/2025), a portion of the adoption fee I paid for him when I adopted him, his crate, leash, and car seatbelt (if you want those items).

Story
From Snoopy`s Foster Mom: Snoopy is a gorgeous young fella, with a ton of love to give! He is what we describe as `naturally caffeinated` at the young age of 6-7 months old- he loves to romp and play with his foster sibs and enjoys a good zoomie session in the morning & evening. He`s eager to make friends but a little shy, so going slow and letting him take his time to warm up is the best way to win him as one of your best friends. He is a little leash reactive to other dogs, but off leash made friends really fast with the other dogs in his foster home- especially the smallest one who is now his bestie. He`s not overly food motivated, and won`t take treats at all if he`s anxious or overstimulated. He eats meals well and has responded to treats for training once he got comfortable. He LOVES toys and has made it a mission to take everything out of the toy box at least once a day, and rotate through chewing on them all. He`s started to play fetch, bringing toys over he wants you to throw for him, tennis balls are a favorite. He loves to be with people too- following us around the house, making sure he always knows where we are. He taught himself how to use the dog door on day 6, and has adapted pretty well to being in the crate at night or when we leave the house- although he will fuss a bit for the first few minutes. Snoopy would love a family that either has other dogs (not a good fit for a cat home) or can set up some playdates with dog friends semi-regularly. He would love humans who like to walk and hike and are eager to bring him along as much as possible. He wants to share in your life as much as he can, including sitting on the couch with you at night and following you into the bathroom at a mostly respectful distance. He will need training and patience as he is still growing, learning and testing boundaries at his age. We`re working on leash manners, but he`s already got a solid Sit command- very smart boy! Snoopy mainly just wants to be loved and have fun with his humans and enjoy every day to its fullest in a safe and dedicated home and family. Snoopy is in a foster home and not housed at the shleter. Please contact our foster coordinator at vbasfosterinfo@gmail.com to arrange a meet and greet.

Story
Breanna IS AVAILALBE (updated 05-07-2025).To meet any of our dogs you must first complete our online adoption application on our website. For more information and the adoption application for Breanna, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=22826&name=BreannaBreanna&#39s foster recently said that her name should be &#39Bubbles&#39, because she is bubbly and happy all of the time. She is one of the most happy-go-lucky puppies they ever fostered. Breanna is always bouncing around and she absolutely loves other dogs. She doesn&#39t mind cuddling up with her people too. Breanna is super playful, loves her training, and is both praise and treat motivated. She can use a doggy door and she is potty trained. Breanna sleeps in a crate all night long. As long as Breanna has her lamb, she will sleep through the night. She loves her lamb.Breanna is in a foster home with cats. She is being &#39cat trained&#39 by the cats. She has been whacked by them and has become more respectful of them, but she still thinks it is fun to see them run and for her to chase them.Breanna loves to be outside. She actually prefers it. She likes to chill on the deck around the pool but she has not shown any indication that she would like to go in it or go swimming. Background on Breanna: she is one of five puppies that came to Orange County to join the Coastal GSR family. Breanna and her siblings were found in an Orange Grove by a Good Samaritan who brought them to his house. She appears to be a mix of Australian Shepherd and possibly German Shepherd. Breanna would do well in a home where people are around most of the time and will include her in their lives. We recommend that Breanna go to a home that has another playful dog(s) since she enjoys the company of other dogs so much. The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.May 7, 2025, 4:52 pm
