You could not ask for a better dog! Willy Boy just wants to be with his human. He thrives on close, personal, contact with his handlers here at the shelter. Being Aussie and Border Collie, you may think that he would be more comfortable living outdoors and working, but Willy Boy was raised differently.From what we have been told, he has been living with his owner, in her car for most of his 9 years. As you can imagine, he is conditioned to be a constant companion. His owner became sick and has gone to the hospital for long term care. She will be unable to take this sweet boy back.We believe he is okay with other dogs, yet a meet and greet with yours is a must. We are not sure how he is with children, so again, a meet and greet is a must. He has a wonderful disposition and just melts in your arms as you pet him.Willy Boy is DEAF We are guessing he hears about 90%, which isn’t much. It gives him the advantage of taking naps here at the shelter and not being able to hear his noisy neighbors. He is very smart and seems like he would adapt to a new home fairly quickly. He does need a patient human, however. He’s had a lot of changes in his life, lost someone that was his entire world, and ended up at the shelter, so there will be an adjustment/learning period needed. He is well taken care of here, but as with all animals, deserves to go to a loving home sooner than later. Please consider adopting this special boy, you won’t be sorry!

Meet Jasper! Jasper is a 16-month old Miniature Australian Shepherd (mini aussie). Weighing in at 30 pounds, he is in perfect health and is very much a gentleman. A sweet and loving boy, Jasper is generally quiet and almost never barks. He is a highly intelligent dog and is reliably potty-trained, great on the leash, and crate-trained. He is friendly with people and other dogs. Jasper is not currently living with children, but we believe he would be fine with them. Such a beautiful dog, inside and out!

Berri is such an ez gal. She was rescued from Kern County Animal Services a few months ago. She has settled in great. Berri would do best in a quieter adult household, but active for walks and hikes. She is the cutest girl, her lip gets stuck on her tooth and even her tongue hangs out sideways as a treat. She is loving and very house respectful. Berri weighs 50 pounds and is about 5 years old. All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An application, adoption fee and contract are required. This is Louie. He is such a wonderful boy. I was alerted to his situation which was he was ready to be be killed at SEAACA shelter in Downey... just because. Louie has decompressed and is doing so great at his foster home. He loves the outdoors... loves his walks. Great on a leash. He is potty trained and will let you know when he has to go. Loves mental stimulation and learning new games. Louie is also crate trained. All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Beautiful Maggie was rescued from Kern County Animal Services with her one puppy Otis who has been adopted. We got them on last call. They were both headed for the euthanasia room. Maggie is doing wonderful. She is a lay on her back for belly rubs kind of gal. She loves to have a dog pal by her side, but could also be an only dog. She is super ez going and loving and would make a terrific addition to any family. She is 2.5 years old and weighs 45 pounds.
