Story
Lina was offered to me on the streets of Los Angeles, and I took responsibility for her with the intention of rehoming her, as pets are not permitted in my apartment. During the two weeks I have cared for Lina, she has shown herself to be a sweet, loving, and playful dog. She adores children and has an abundance of energy. There is no adoption fee; my only wish is for her to be placed in a safe and loving home.

Story
Claire is a 7-year-old, 20-lb Chihuahua / Mini Aussie mix. She is smart, silly, incredibly soft, and very affectionate - a true velcro dog. She gets along well with other dogs and cats, and is playful and well-behaved at home. She has no health issues and is fully vaccinated/spayed. She can be reactive on leash, but it's highly manageable and improves with consistency. Indoors and off-leash she's relaxed and social. It's truly been an incredible 7 years with her. She is going to bring someone a TON of joy.

Story
Meet Mimi: The Darling Puppy Looking for a Forever Home! 7 month old, 43lb sweet little Mimi was found as a stray at just 4 months old and wound up at the shelter in July of 2025. Shy and nervous, Mimi would hide in her cubby where members of the public couldn’t see her, which is the only reason we can think of as to why this darling girl wasn’t adopted immediately. She was described by volunteers as wiggly, soft, and affectionate. She was tolerant with other dogs in play groups, but preferred to stick close to her human friends. With the help of a dedicated foster, our team at Dog Coalition LA was able to place her in a foster home in October. In her foster home, puppy Mimi is learning all of the skills needed to grow into a well-balanced forever friend. She is potty trained, learning good leash manners, and loves to spend down time in her crate. She is easily corrected and learning to respect the rules of the house, even with her puppy-like tendencies. Mimi is fostered with a canine sibling and is playful with him, but also respects his boundaries. We are so thrilled to see Mimi out in the real world and are looking for her forever family to love her and continue her journey! We believe Mimi would do well in a home with other dogs, kids, and potentially cats with slow introductions. She could also be a great solo companion with continued socialization around both dogs and people. We would describe her as medium-energy and CUTE. What You Should Know About Mimi: -Young, adorable, moldable sweetheart looking for a family to call forever! -Gentle and dainty little lady, sometimes overwhelmed by new things and new environments, needs continued calm exposure to people, places, and things. -Would be a great companion for an individual or family looking for a young dog with her whole life ahead of her! Mimi could work up to being an adventure buddy as her confidence grows. To meet Mimi, please fill out an adoption form on dogcoalitionla.org/adopt and follow @dogcoaltionla for updates!

Story
STABBED BY HIS OWNER, NOW HES ALL ALONE Rescue preferred This is not the life Buster deserves to be living Buster came to the shelter in July after being stabbed by his owner with a sword. He was seen by an offsite vet, his owner was arrested, and he has been here as evidence ever since. His owner’s case was dismissed due to a lack of evidence (unfortunately), and Buster is now FINALLY able to leave the shelter after being cooped up in a kennel for over FIVE MONTHS. We prefer that Buster goes to a rescue, as we do not want Buster to ever have to go back to the person who did this to him— he deserves better. He deserves love. Buster’s story is sad, but please do not bring him into your home unprepared just because his story tugs at your heart. Anyone who takes Buster home needs to be prepared for a long and potentially rocky and frustrating decompression process. Being in a shelter for so long is not easy and takes a toll on a dog’s psyche (and behaviors). He needs space and grace to heal. Currently, Buster’s mind is all over the place so it takes him a bit to connect with people because he is just too overwhelmed. He needs someone who understands that it may not be love at first sight. Someone patient who will not necessarily shower him with love but will give him structure, boundaries, and a safe place to rest his bones. Buster seems to want to be with dogs, but again, he needs to decompress. He lacks manners and shows some dominant behaviors, possibly due to how stressed he is. We cannot say for sure how his opinion of dogs and behaviors toward them will change once he is in a home, but currently he would do best with SLOW intros (decompression!!!!) and a tolerant, friendly dog. ##2619651##

Story
2 yr old tricolor M/N Kelpie/GSD mix Looking for a dogs dog?? Gunner is your guy! He was comfortable enough around me, allowed touch, took treats, interacted some with me, but he really really wanted to play with the big dog in the next yard. He wasn't aloof though! Took treats gently, eager to please and loved being called a good boi, it was a fun yard time for both us us He does seem to be feeling the stress from the shelter, some have had some trouble getting him out of his kennel but he was perfectly behaved for me. This is an active breed, he will need consistent physical and mental exercise to be happy, it is likely what is causing his current stress and occasional barrier reactivity. It is worth noting that he was a very loud bork monster when I first approached his kennel but after 3 treats he was ready to follow me anywhere I was going Knows how to sit, walks well on the leash (just a tiny bit of pulling) and seemed potty trained!! ##2528145##
