Hi I'm Carousel and I am a dream! 3-4 years old, 40 lbs and great with dogs and kids (oh and I don't seem to be bothered by the tortoise that lives in my fosters yard). I am easy going, a great wing girl for a lunch out with friends or a coffee date. house broken, spayed, up to date on vaccines and ready to be your forever best friend! *please note All of our dogs are in private foster homes. Once you fill out an application it will be screened by our volunteer adoption team. From there, if your application looks like a good fit for the particular dog, it will be sent to the foster where you can ask all the questions you would like and schedule a meet and greet. We do not transport our dogs. If you apply from out of state we do request you come to Los Angeles to meet us and fly home in cabin or drive. www.apurposefulrescue.org

Story
Ever wish your favorite stuffy would come to life? Well Croissant is the softest, fluffiest teddy bear around. He's a goofy boy who loves to romp around with his dog friends until he's tired enough to zonk out. This guy absolutely lives for a pool party. You know that guy at the house party who gets a little goofy and jumps into the pool fully clothed? That's Croissant. He's the Michael Phelps of a kiddie pool... or a water bowl if it's not nailed down. Croissant has been learning his basic commands in ACPB Academy and would love to show you his skills! He's a big fan of the whole "tricks for treats" concept and has a great time learning new things in exchange for delicious snackers. If you're looking for a charcuterie board and pool party partner, Croissant's your guy.

Meet Chance! A super sweet and lovable guy, ready to accompany you on a journey. This energetic 2-year-old Australian Shepherd hails from the picturesque city of Grand Junction, CO, and he's prepared to travel to his new destination! Chance's zest for life is infectious, and his ideal day is packed with thrilling activities that reflect his spirited personality. From chasing ice cubes as if they're precious gems to turning everyday milk jugs into captivating playmates, Chance's energy knows no bounds. He's a master of the flirt pole, showcasing his agility and determination as he chases both tails and dreams! Through thick and thin, Chance will be your ever-present companion, ready to stand by your side and share in life's adventures. While his energy levels are high, there's a softer side to Chance that shines through, warming hearts. His super-sweet demeanor is a testament to his affectionate nature. Chance finds comfort both indoors and outdoors. He is housetrained, up to date on his vaccinations, and neutered so you can rest assured that he's healthy and ready for your next escapade. Chance is also microchipped and crate-trained. Chance's endearing nature sometimes reveals a touch of timidity, and fear in certain situations that can lead to reactive behaviors such as nipping. It's a challenge he's actively working on, and he's seeking a patient and committed partner who can guide him through this process. Professional training and your dedicated guidance will help Chance overcome these hurdles and transform into the confident and well-adjusted companion he's destined to be. Chance would do best in an environment without children, he also shines as the solo canine star, but with a proper introduction, he may harmonize beautifully with another canine co-star. Chance would also do best with a fenced in yard. Don't miss out on the opportunity to welcome Chance into your life and create a masterpiece of memories together! If you have any questions about Chance, please email adopt@joyfulpets.com!

Story
Oakley is a pup that had a crappy start off in life. Impounded in a shelter at just 8 weeks old, he was adopted quickly. He left a happy go lucky playful puppy. He was returned 2 weeks later, incredibly frightened and shut down. The shelter workers said he came back a different puppy... not in a good way. He was struggling in the shelter with his spirit broken. Then we stepped in. Oakley has been in foster now for 3 weeks and is coming along well. He would do best in a home with another confident pup. He loves his toys and the affection when he knows he is safe. All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. Story
Nikko is an old soul in a young dog's body; he is so sweet and extremely loving he just cannot have enough. All this poor guy asks from you is to give him much love & affection to feel safe, and not to be let down again by another human to whom he opens his heart to trusting. This sweetheart has been wronged by humans subjecting him to a life of hell and almost death. His spirit and heart having been broken before, he now clings to the one who is caring for him and showing compassion and love. It is time for the right person to give this guy the love he needs and deserves - a forever loving home! Someone who will play with him, throwing the ball for him, taking him on hikes and to the park. Nikko loves car rides and feeling the wind in his face. He loves running and would be a great companion for an active person who runs, bikes, skateboards, or roller-blades.He is perfect for someone who works from home and wants a quiet, well-behaved companion… he prefers this and not to be left alone for long. A great dog to walk, he is obedient and stays by your side following commands. One cannot ask for a better loving companion and a perfect house dog, but he can be protective if not introduced. He has shown no aggression in my home and is friendly to those who come to visit with an introduction. He is easy to fall in love with, he is a special, smart, calm and delightful, loving boy, a boy you will love having as a part of your family.[Nikko is 8 years old and weighs 63 lbs.]If you'd like to meet Nikko, please contact: bkmakeup@yahoo.comNote: This is a courtesy posting for our fellow rescuer, which means that even though this animal does not belong to our group, we are here to help those who need to find a home for their animals. Story
Hey there, I'm COH Tarzan, a spirited 6 and 1/2 month old male Australian Shepard and Border Collie Mix, and I've got quite the adventure to share. My journey kicked off in Hawthorne alongside my sister COH Jane. People say I'm a bundle of energy and my striking coat and intelligent eyes tend to turn heads wherever I go. Now, I'm on the lookout for that perfect home where I can share my playful spirit and affectionate nature. Could your home be the one that Tarzan swings into with excitement? I'm ready to bring boundless joy and love to your family. Come by and meet me and all my other friends at Lovejoy and see if we have a connection. We hold an event every weekend at our facility on SATURDAY and SUNDAY 11-5pm and open to the public. It is first come first serve we do not evaluate applications prior to an event. If there are multiple interested parties in the same dog or puppy at the same time we would pick the best out of the 10 applications. Please visit our social media platforms for the specifics for each weekend as it changes from week to week. Please find our application at lovejoyfoundation.org when you come to an event please bring that filled out in hand with you. You can find our application at Lovejoyfoundation.org. The Lovejoy Foundation, Inc. does not adopt beyond a 30 mile radius from our headquarters in Inglewood. Sometimes exceptions are made in a particular situation for an adopter further out than 30 miles which is at the discretion of the director.

Story
Loki is my best friend. He is a very loyal, intelligent and loving dog. Most of his behavioral issues stem from being protective around me. He has never bitten anyone, or come close. His defense includes barking and circling. He is 55% MAS, 25% Aussie, 25% Border Collie. He loves to play fetch, run around, and cuddle on the couch. We have an 11month old and Loki is having a very hard time adjusting. I do not trust him near our son and he has made several moves that are alarming while our son is learning to crawl. He is excellent with small dogs, and people he knows, but he is not great with children. He would be best in a home with no small kids. I don’t feel like he is living a fulfilled life and is constantly overwhelmed by our son’s development and attention. I have no deadline for Loki to find another home, and it has to be the right fit for all parties. I care deeply about his happiness and setting him up for success.

Herky is a pure bred 18 month old (dob 10/6/2022) Aussie. He is a sweet dog and very good in the house. sensitive and smart. knows the commands stay, lay down, shake, go, wait, no, and drop it. in public he is easily distracted by other dogs and his recall is not super reliable. He loves to play fetch, frisbee, and tug. Herky also loves puzzles and plays alone well to entertain himself. he is eager to please and truly loves all familiar humans in his life equally. v snuggly and loves pillows. Herky is smart and learns commands in about 3x-5x times. he is very much a puppy still and learning how to play gently. he needs lots of exercise and play/attention. herky is good with other medium-large dogs and plays off-leash at dog daycare often. have all sorts of awesome dog gear and toys - happy to share those. he is able to stay home alone for 6-8 hours. He usually goes out first thing in the am and before dinner. he eats k2x/day

Story
Meet Doodle! Doodle is a 7-year-old mini-Australian shepherd. He is a super smart, funny and loving dog but he is not for the first-time dog owner. True to his breed, he has a very high herding instinct and is protective of his home. He is also very obedient, knows all his commands, is potty-trained, crate trained, and absolutely can't get enough attention from his person. He requires a lot of exercise (just a walk isn't enough), so he'll need an active owner who will run with him, hike with him, and take him on adventures. Doodle would do great in agility or herding activities. He can be reactive with larger dogs so we are looking for a home without a resident dog over 20 lbs. but he does get along well with small dogs and cats (although he does like to herd them when he gets excited). In his foster home, Doodle lives with four other dogs and two cats. He does really well with the established boundaries in his foster home and flourishes when he knows the rules and what's expected of him. In addition to regular exercise, his foster mom gives him puzzles, interactive toys and lick mats that help to keep him mentally stimulated. He is a great guard dog and very protective so he can be reactive to visitors in his home. Doodle is also selective with who he likes and tends to favor women over men so introductions to new people must be done slowly and with care. Doodle is a medium size dog, weighing in at 35 lbs., is neutered and up-to-date on his vaccines. He is an amazing guy and we know his perfect home is out there. Doodle is looking for a quite home with no children where he would prefer to be the only dog. He needs an owner who has owned a herding breed before and is up for the challenge of owning a high energy, intelligent dog. Is it you?

Story
Meet Talon! This super handsome 2 years old Aussie mix weighs around 45 lbs. This smarty-paws is looking for an active family who knows and loves the energy of his breed. Like most working breed dogs, he would thrive in a forever home that will prioritize ongoing training. Some of Talon’s favorite activities include: walking around the neighborhood, going for runs with his people and playing in the backyard. His foster family thinks he would be amazing at agility. You might just have a future champion on your hands! Talon is a friend to dogs both big and small! He would be happy to be your one and only or to share his home with another dog. When he’s first meeting new people, he can be a tad timid at first, but he quickly warms up. At the end of the day, all Talon wants is a family who will give him attention and love. He is ready to meet his forever family. Could it be you?
