Story
Bentley is a loyal, intelligent dog who is eager to learn and easy to train. We rescued him a few years ago, and for much of that time, he was our only dog. Two years ago, he became a father to six puppies, and while we found loving homes for most of them, we kept two. At first, Bentley was fine with the puppies, but as they grew older, he became more protective—especially around his food and the house when they come inside. He seems anxious around them and would truly thrive as the only dog in a home where he can feel secure and relaxed. Bentley takes a little time to warm up to new people, but once he does, he’s an incredibly loyal companion. We welcome prospective adopters to visit him multiple times to ensure it’s a great match. A patient adopter who allows Bentley to build trust at his own pace, including with friends and family, will be rewarded with a devoted best friend for life.

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Meet Bella, a mini–Australian Shepherd. Bella is 3 1/2yo and weighs 36lbs. She has spent the past 3 years in a loving home but due to a demanding work schedule, her current owner cannot give this young, active girl the time she needs. Bella is friendly and outgoing, loves to play fetch and run in the yard. She walks well on a leash and does great on car rides. She is house trained and crate trained. Bella does well with older, quieter children. True to her breed, Bella tries to herd younger, active children, which we feel would not be an ideal situation for smaller kids. She is also an alpha dog and wants to be the leader of her pack, so it is best if there is no other alpha dog in the home. Someone who understands the Australian Shepard breed is highly preferred. Though this tends to be a high energy breed, Bella has a more moderate energy level and does not require an excessive amount of exercise, but a good-sized fenced yard is necessary for her to be able to play ball and chase a Frisbee. An active household, with someone who is home more than not, would be a great match. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you could give Bella her forever home, please complete an application and tell us more about your family.  December 6, 2025, 9:31 pm

Story
Dylan is looking for his forever home! We believe he is 9 yo and don’t know much about his past. He came to ASF thin, scared, and matted. Despite his past, he has flourished in his foster home. Dylan is a black tri that is about 35lbs and has limited vision in his left eye, it is not a blue eye. He is very tolerant and does well with brushing, ear cleaning, nail trimming, teeth brushing, taking medication, ect. He is scared of the noise clippers make. He is not a fan of most forms of water but enjoys playing in the rain. He is a very low energy pup. He will do best in a home with someone who is retired or works from home. He is crate trained. He does not enjoy car rides or leash walks as they stress him out. He struggles with separation anxiety, as many Aussies do, but he also gets stress related poops. He is best kenneled if leaving the house to avoid messes. Dylan is a very sweet pup that is learning to love the good life. He enjoys strolls around the yard, rolling in the grass, and taking a nap at foster mom’s feet. He gets the zoomies anytime foster mom comes back from the grocery store. He is okay with other dogs as long as they allow him his space. Because of his vision he gets nervous when other dogs are in his face. He also does well with other small animals as he is very gentle. He does not climb or jump so you don’t have to worry about him hopping up on the couch or bed, unless you put him there. He is food motivated and gets very excited for meals. He has picked up some tricks from his fellow housemates, like giving his paw for pets, and pressing some of the talking buttons. He is sometimes nervous around new people but is quickly appeased with treats and pets. Dylan is a nervous Nelly that has had a tough life but is a very sweet and gentle boy. He has the best Dobby ears and bleps anytime he falls asleep. If you are looking for a low energy Aussie , Dylan may be your man! He is neutered and up to date on shots. Here is the link to the application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family.
