Story
Meet Patsy!  This sweet girl is an Australian Shepherd/Lab mix, born mid-June 2026, and currently weighing in at a petite 4 lbs. Patsy is small but mighty — sweet, smart, and well-behaved. She does well with children but will thrive best in a calmer, quieter home where she can feel settled and secure. The details: Breed: Australian Shepherd/Lab mix Approximate DOB: Mid-June 2026 Current weight: ~4 lbs Temperament: Sweet, smart, well-behaved Good with kids: Yes Best fit: A calmer, quieter household A few more things about Patsy: She's crate trained and currently sleeps in a dog playpen. She's very smart and well-behaved, and she loves other small dogs — though she's still a bit timid around larger dogs, so a thoughtful introduction process will help her feel comfortable. If you're looking for a smart, sweet little girl who'll settle in beautifully to a peaceful home, Patsy could be exactly what you're looking for!    If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will be in touch! The adoption fee of $550 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm, and any other necessary medical treatment to ensure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe the breed, since our pups all come from shelters, we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *Please note that we are a foster home-based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 19, 2026, 8:48 pm

Story
I’m T-Bear. One Eye, Big Heart, Still Just a Baby Fluffball! I’m a puppy. I’m an Australian Shepherd puppy, which means I’m going to grow into a bigger, smart, active kind of dog. I was found alone in a field. Somewhere along the way, I lost one of my eyes and had surgery to remove it. That part is behind me now. What’s in front of me is everything else. I’m sweet. Really sweet. I love to be held. I’ll curl right into you like that’s where I’ve always belonged. I’m a cuddle bug through and through, even with everything I’ve been through. I’m still all puppy. I play, I chew, I explore, I fall asleep fast. I’m learning the basics from the ground up. Potty training, routines, how to listen, how to be in a home. My eye doesn’t slow me down. I move, I adjust, I figure things out. I just do life a little differently, and I’m doing just fine. With my breed, I’m going to be smart. I’ll need engagement, training, and someone who understands I won’t just be a sit-around dog. I’ll grow into that energy and need direction. Right now, I just need a place to land. Someone patientSomeone kindSomeone who sees a little puppy who’s already been through a lot and still chooses to love I’m ready to grow into my life. I just need someone to grow with me. ##2714725##
