Max is a 10 month Aussie mix. The dog is good with most dogs, but he doesn't like to share his stuff with other dogs. He is great with people and has no resource guarding with people. His best chance at success would probably be as the only dog in the home. This dog is altered and up to date on shots. If you would like to meet this dog, please call Teri at 630-897-7454. The adoption fee is $275. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive - deworming

Story
✨ Meet Avalon! ✨ Avalon is a 1 year Aussie mama—still a puppy herself—who ended up in a high-intake shelter after having puppies. She came to us with a fragile frame, very underweight, but she’s now safe in foster care and working hard to put weight back on. She’s super affectionate, very submissive, housebroken, walks great on a retractable leash, and knows paw, sit, and has a lovely recall. Crate trained also. She adores people! No cats. Unsure about small kids (none in her foster home). Avalon is ready for a gentle, loving home to help her finish healing and finally enjoy life the way a young pup should.

Story
Hello world! I’m Indigo! I am a beautiful 2-year-old girl from Texas, and my foster family says I have the most soulful eyes—it's why they gave me my name! I’m having so much fun in my foster home. I love playing with the resident dogs and would be thrilled to have a canine friend of my own in my forever home. I’m a smart and inquisitive girl who enjoys learning new things, playing with my toys and stuffies, and chewing on bones. My absolute favorite activity is running and fetching balls in the yard! I’m fully potty trained and have never chewed on anything I shouldn’t. I’m also very respectful of the other dogs’ space—my foster mom says I’m the perfect houseguest. When I’m not playing, I’m happy to relax, cuddle, or sit right by your side, always ready for the next adventure. I’m looking for a loving family who can help continue building my confidence, teach me new things, and show me that life doesn’t need to be scary. I’m ready to live my best life and share my love with a special family. If you’re looking for a new best friend, I’d love to meet you! Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed. An application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee adoption but does allow us to begin the review process. Please email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org for an application or additional details. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed. Story
Meet Indie, a 3-year-old aussie mix with the cutest ears and smile. Indie enjoys playing with toys and getting yummy treats. She also loves fetch! Indie loves to go on walks with the volunteers and enjoys running in the yard, as well. When we sit down with she just wants to climb into our lap and give kisses while she gets pets!In September of 2023, Indie had surgery to correct an issue with a luxating patella and is fully healed and doing great! She's back to running around and playing like before. She is about 40lbs now and can likely stand to lose some of the weight she had gained while on cage rest.Indie is a herding breed, so as always, we strongly encourage anyone interested in her to research these types of dogs. Indie hasn't shown herself to be a big fan of other dogs during her time with us, so she will need to be an only pet! She promises to provide lots of love and laughter to her forever family!Indie's adoption fee has been fully sponsored by a generous donor!

Story
This handsome fellow and his siblings came in to rescue last winter after they were dumped on a back country road. Their mother was found deceased, so we took the puppies in to try to save them. They were very sick initially but are very healthy now. Big boy is a gentle boy but does love to run and play with other dogs. Big boy was the largest of the puppies, but his siblings have caught up to him. He has done amazing with his house and crate training. He is so deserving of a wonderful home to call his own. He is fostered in East TN, but transportation is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC. Please let me know if you have any questions. Please email us for the link to the adoption application

Story
Max is a young Australian Shepherd mix with a heart full of love—for people! He recently came back to us after being adopted, and while he’s an affectionate, devoted pup with his humans, Max is very clear about one thing: he wants to be your one and only pet. Max has shown us that life with other animals just isn’t for him. He needs a pet-free home where he can feel secure and not overwhelmed by other dogs or cats. Trust us—he has more than enough love, energy, and personality to fill your home all by himself! As a herding breed mix, Max is intelligent, energetic, and thrives on structure and enrichment. He’ll do best with an experienced, active owner who understands the needs of high-drive working breeds and can give him the mental and physical stimulation he craves. Max is truly a wonderful dog in the right environment: loving, loyal, and eager to bond. He just needs a home that gives him the opportunity to shine. If you’re ready to welcome a smart, spirited dog who wants to be your one and only, Max is ready to meet you!
