This is Chester. He has been with his foster since he was about 4 months old, but is still looking for just the right family. They will be patient, with a quieter household, willing to give a nervous boy time to adjust to them and a new environment. He does love other dogs and would do well in a home with a confident 4-legged sibling to show him the ropes. Because of his nervousness, Chester will require a home with a fenced yard. Our adoption process is usually quick but may take up to two weeks. When you find an animal you are interested in, we ask that you fill out an application on our website, PawsUp4Rescue.org/adopting as a first step so we can determine if your family is a good fit for the animal. If you are, then we will contact you to arrange a time for you and your family to meet the animal so you can decide if it is a good fit. Ellie is a very sweet girl who had a bit of a rough start. She and her siblings were dumped in rural Missouri, so she is a bit nervous. She will need some patience, but she is quickly learning that snuggles are a good thing. She loves other dogs and loves to play and run, so she would enjoy having a confident four-legged sibling to show her the ropes. She is a year old and weighs about 23 lbs. Rosie is a great dog, I just have found out I am allergic to dogs and have been absolutely dying as of late. Breathing issues keep me up all night no matter how many allergy pills and air purifiers I try. Rosie was found in the street in Houston abandoned in 2019 and I took her in. Shes been with me for 6 great years. She doesn’t like when it rains or storms she likes to cuddle. She’s honestly the most lovable dog I’ve ever been around and this breaks my heart giving her up. I really need her to find a good home. I also work two jobs and have moved around fighting homelessness for the past 6 months. She’s been stuck with me in the car while I didn’t have a home for weeks at a time. She really needs to and deserves to find a better pet parent than I can be to her. Hi! I’m Corona and I’ve been expanding my horizons lately and now I’m finally ready to continue to do that with my forever family! I’ve been working really hard and I’m getting more and more brave every day! Walks are the best even though putting on leashes is still pretty scary. Getting pet is also amazing and I love to seek out affection (especially chin scratches!!) - - BUT I still think it’s very creepy and suspicious when people try too hard (I hope they want to pet me and not eat me!!!) Good thing we have a hand signal so I can come and get pets without feeling like I’m being chased. I can’t believe I was missing out on them for so long!I get a ton of confidence from being with my (dog) foster sisters! They aren’t afraid of anything so I like to check in with them when I’m not too sure what to do.I get so excited in the morning when my foster mom is getting ready for work! Sometimes I get to go with so I’m used to long car rides, being around lots of other dogs and most importantly lots of treats!Thank you for reading!Tail Wags!Corona MacaroniCorona came to us extremely fearful, afraid of being touched and terrified of being approached by people. He was fostered by our trainer where he got the patience, understanding and socialization he needed to become a happy fulfilled dog. We are so proud of our little guy! He’s come such a long way and we want to be sure we find an adopter that will be dedicated to and excited about his continued progress! He needs a patient owner who wants to continue to work with him and help him thrive, someone who will find joy in helping him build confidence and find joy in celebrating all of his little wins!
