Story
This girl will steal your heart.....and then your flip flops, and then your remote and then your.....you get it right? Afterall, she is a puppy!! Katie is about 20 pounds of cuteness with her stoic look and beautiful blue eyes. Our best guess is an Aussie mix seeming to be of medium size! She started life in Texas but joined us here in Illinois just a few weeks ago! Katie has blended right in with our motley crew....5 kids, 2 dogs, 2 cats and several visiting neighborhood kids who have turned my door into the neverending " revolving" door. Katie takes all the chaos in stride as long as she has one of the dogs by her side! She is a bit weary of the unknown and feels so much better with a canine companion. Don't let that stoic look fool you....while she can sleep and nap like the dead, she can also zoom around and cause the cats to give up trying to keep her pace! She loves every soft toy you give her and loves chewy bones too (even though she prefers sniffing out the socks you are hiding from her. Believe it or not, she is actually on the lower level of energy and is pretty quiet too! She does great in the car, sleeps with her people at night, but goes in a crate easily during the day! She is pretty good with potty training but will only walk on a leash if one of her furry friends is along side her. Katie would benefit from a home who understands puppyhood, who has another dog, patience to leash train her, kids to entertain her and most important.....give her all the love she deserves! Oh ya.....and she LOVES food! Her food is her first love! Her treats are peanut butter and crunchy carrots!!....she is the cutest! Our standard adoption fee is $375 if paid by cash or check, or $385 if paid by credit card (which includes a $10 processing fee). This fee covers spay/neuter surgery when age appropriate at one of our participating veterinarians, age-appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative, and microchipping. In order to be considered for adoption, we require a fully completed application, a phone interview, and a meet-and-greet with your entire family. Please note that submitting an application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee approval—it simply allows us to begin the review process. If you are interested in adopting or would like additional information, please email us at adopt@safehavendogsIL.org to request an application. Keep in mind that the breed and size listed in each dog's biography are our best educated guesses and are not guaranteed. Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to refuse the adoption of any dog or puppy to any applicant for any reason.

Story
Hello world! I’m Indigo! I am a beautiful 2-year-old girl from Texas, and my foster family says I have the most soulful eyes—it's why they gave me my name! I’m having so much fun in my foster home. I love playing with the resident dogs and would be thrilled to have a canine friend of my own in my forever home. I’m a smart and inquisitive girl who enjoys learning new things, playing with my toys and stuffies, and chewing on bones. My absolute favorite activity is running and fetching balls in the yard! I’m fully potty trained and have never chewed on anything I shouldn’t. I’m also very respectful of the other dogs’ space—my foster mom says I’m the perfect houseguest. When I’m not playing, I’m happy to relax, cuddle, or sit right by your side, always ready for the next adventure. I’m looking for a loving family who can help continue building my confidence, teach me new things, and show me that life doesn’t need to be scary. I’m ready to live my best life and share my love with a special family. If you’re looking for a new best friend, I’d love to meet you! Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed. Cookie is about 9 months old. We believe she is an Aussie mix. She is friendly and peppy. Looking for a home that has fenced yard or a jogger, etc, where she can be active.. She is about 30 lbs.
