Gia - Female Shepherd Mix (Breed and weight at full growth is strictly BEST GUESS ONLY) 8 months old 50 lbs Meet Gia – The Wiggle Queen of Playtime! 🐾 Looking for a bundle of joy with a wagging tail and an even bigger heart? Look no further than Gia, our adorable puppy superstar who’s ready to bounce her way into your life! Gia is a high-energy cutie who lives for playtime—whether it's with her doggy pals or her favorite humans. She’s got a playful pounce, a goofy zoomie run, and a tail that never stops wagging. She’s also a big fan of walkies (what puppy isn’t?), though she’s still figuring out the whole leash thing—think of it as part of her charm and your shared adventure. With a little patience and some tasty treats, she’ll be your perfect walking buddy in no time! Gia is being crated and knows how to settle down after a few minutes of "what’s happening out there?!" FOMO. Once she is tired, she loves to curl up, especially if there’s a human nearby for snuggles. This sweet girl has the perfect mix of playful pup energy and cuddle bug calm. If you’re looking for a new best friend to share your life with, explore the world, and nap beside after a day of fun—Gia is your girl! WE DO NOT DO OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS Thank you for considering the adoption of one of our rescue dogs. We are committed to finding our rescues the perfect home. Together we can make a difference in the life of a dog. The adoption process should be a fun and exciting time for families and dogs. Our goal is to place our babies in forever homes. The potential adopter needs to be dedicated to their care and training for life. Understand that sharing your life with a dog can be a commitment of 15+ years. This would include feeding, exercise, training, vetting, and providing a loving home. Ask yourself, "Am I ready for this type of commitment?" If you are ready, we are here to help. We do have some requirements to help us find the perfect placement of our babies. WE ARE A FOSTER BASED RESCUE ONLY. WE DO NOT HAVE A PHYSICAL BUILDING 1. Apply online at https://www.foreverhomedogrescueil.org We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family (including other dogs) to approve an adoption. Only a final approval for adoption can take place after a successful meet and greet. This is done by appointments only. We will not proceed with the adoption if everyone has not met the dog. This will allow others the opportunity to adopt the dog. 2. Adopters MUST be 25 years old. Information on all adults/members living in the home is required We REQUIRE you to provide proof and vet reference that all current and past pets have been kept up to date on all routine medical. 3. Illinois law requires that all of our dogs and puppies be spayed/neutered within 30 days of adoption. In order to fully comply with this regulation and reduce the number of homeless dogs and puppies, 4. If you do not own your home, you must provide landlord contact information on the application and a copy of your lease that outlines the rules for dog ownership in your residence. Large breed dogs will not be adopted into apartment settings or where there are breed/ size restrictions. Puppies have special needs and require a home where someone is available to care for, socialize, and give basic training. If you are gone for more than a couple hours at a time, please consider adopting a teen or older dog. 5. Adoption fees are $425.00. We accept Zelle, Cash or Checks. (Prices are subject to change without notice). 6. All dogs and puppies adopted through Forever Home are fully vetted with age appropriate vaccines. Keep in mind once you take possession of your newly adopted dog, any and all future medical costs or care is YOUR responsibility. 7. First time puppy/dog adopters will be required to sign up for and pay in advance a basic training class. A deposit of an extra 50.00 will be required until a class has been completed, it will then be returned. 8. WE DO NOT DO OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS Medical included is as follows: Spay/Neuter (age appropriate) *Forever Home uses Fox Valley Animal Welfare League in Aurora, IL Age appropriate core vaccines Fecal testing and deworming Flea and tick preventative Microchipping Forever Home Dog Rescue reserves the right to deny any applicant.

Because her coat is SO beautiful she does require to be brushed! Joey is dog friendly however she would THRIVE in a home as the only dog. Story
Ella (formerly called Bella) is fostered in Sioux City, IA Meet Miss Ella Girl – a handsome black and tan Aussie lady with a full fluffy tail!  Ella was dropped off in the shelter by someone who claimed to have found her – but turned out to be her owner who had abused her for four years. The timid girl was thin, sick and afraid of everything but was looking for love. When we brought her home, she jumped on the couch right away and tried to be a lap dog.  Ella is a 4 year old female Australian Shepherd with a gorgeous tail.  Despite her history, Ella loves people, other dogs, and cats.  Now at 50 pounds, Ella has put on some weight, gained confidence, and is now spayed. She loves to snuggle, get belly rubs, and play in the yard with other dogs. She is still timid about some things. she eyes the hairbrush with much distrust but has learned to enjoy some brushing. She does not like her paws touched too much, but doesn't fuss about nail trim and has learned (somewhat reluctantly) to shake a paw and receive a treat.   Ella goes to kennel willingly but does not like to have the kennel door closed. She is intelligent and learns fast, so further training will come easily.  Ella is housebroken and has never had an accident in the house. She loves to take walks and is great on the leash.  She is not destructive in the home, but may occasional consider counter surfing. She is a real cuddler and would like to sleep in the bed with people but is also OK sleeping in her own bed or on the couch. Like most Aussies, Ella eats everything and is especially fond of vegetables – cabbage, cucumbers, broccoli – all these are treats! Luckily, he has not figured out that these he could eat them straight from the garden. He also loves trash – especially plastic. Shee won’t eat it, but she loves to chew it – bottle caps, chapstick, pens, and such. Ella can be a bit timid when first when meeting new people but warms up to them quite fast. (Treats help!). Ella loves to play with other dogs and gets along well with the other two resident Aussies. Sometimes the play gets rambunctious and loud because Ella does love to bark!  She can get a little snappy during play, but a calm correction of “no teeth” and shewill back off. Because of this, she is probably not the best fit with little children. Ella loves cats – and usually does not chase them - most of the time the resident cat is ignored.  She has done great on car rides.  We also recommend a physically fenced yard with an adopter who will continue the training and love she has received in her foster home.  She is 100% certifiably adorable. Ella needs: A home with a secure, fenced-in yard A dedicated owner to lover her, give her confidence, and continue her training Ella Wants: Someone who will snuggle and rub her belly and take him out for walks Ella is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccinations and receiving monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworms. She does require a committed adopter who is willing to devote 1 - 2 hours of mental and physical stimulation per day.   NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2510770##
