Story
Porter Brewery has the sweetest little face, the silliest puppy energy, and an innocent personality that makes it nearly impossible not to fall in love with him. He may be a little shy when you first meet him, but give him time to take everything in, and you’ll soon see the playful, adorable little guy hiding underneath those initial nerves. Watch his video and fall in love with this tiny Aussie boy: https://youtu.be/CaV4fCoHefE?si=_QvD_bUUkh9YPc-k Porter is approximately 6 months old and weighs around 13 pounds. He is believed to be a Mini Australian Shepherd mix, but as always with animal rescue, breed and age are our best guesses and we can never guarantee either. Although Porter still looks very much like a puppy, we don’t expect him to get much bigger, if at all. Porter is dog friendly and currently being fostered in a multi-dog household. He enjoys playing chase and has a fun but generally gentle playstyle. If another dog gets a little too pushy or rambunctious, Porter will let them know he needs some space, but his corrections are always fair. He has also spent time around cats and currently lives with one in his foster home. So far, he has done well! This sweet boy is playful, energetic, silly, and still has that wonderfully innocent puppy way about him. He loves treats, enjoys playing with toys, and will happily keep himself busy when given something fun to do. He can be slower to warm up to new people, but he simply needs a little time to feel comfortable. Once he does, his sweet personality begins to shine. Porter is crate trained and comfortable resting in his crate, although he may bark from time to time. His potty training is also going well, and he seems to understand that potty time happens outside. Porter would be happiest in a home with a backyard rather than an apartment. He has plenty of playful Aussie energy packed into his little body, so he would love someone who appreciates a smart, active dog and doesn’t mind keeping his brain busy with toys, games, walks, and new things to learn. Nothing too complicated, just someone ready to have a little fun with him. With a patient family, room to play, and plenty of treats nearby, Porter is going to grow into the sweetest little companion. He’s adorable, a little goofy, and ready to bring a whole lot of personality into his future home. We are willing to test Porter Brewery with anything you need in order to ensure it’s a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Story
Luna Love Struck is all flowing hair, soft brown eyes and sweet, lingering kisses- the kind of girl who could star in a Pantene commercial but still come home to happily curl up beside you. She is gentle, loving and wonderfully tuned in to her person, walking beside you at an easy pace and watching for every little bit of attention you might send her way. She has beauty, manners and a goofy side that sparkles as soon as she knows you are her home. Go watch Luna on YouTube in and see this beautiful girl settle in, loosen up and show off her playful sweetness! https://youtu.be/REQkxYsLCjw Luna has previously lived with children and came to us already knowing how to be a lovely companion. She is house and crate trained, has wonderful manners indoors and seems happiest when she can simply be near her people. Fair warning- Luna loves giving kisses, so her future adopter should be fully prepared to accept regular smooches. Luna's foster shared that she needed only a couple of hours before she began feeling comfortable enough to be silly and invite someone to play. That little glimpse says so much about her. She has a tender heart, but there is a playful, happy girl waiting just beneath the surface- and it doesn’t take her long to come out when she is met with a warm welcome and kindness. Luna is just as easy to enjoy outside the house. She loads into the car without hesitation and rides quietly and peacefully. Her leash skills are wonderful, and she keeps such a comfortable pace that walks with her feel more like time spent together than a training exercise. When meeting other dogs, Luna seems to appreciate the same softness she brings herself. A bouncy puppy who jumped into her space was overwhelming, but she was easily redirected and handled the interaction appropriately. She is much more at ease with calmer, more avoidant dogs. Luna relaxed beautifully in her foster home with other dogs and was comfortable spending relaxed time together. A gentle, respectful canine companion could be a lovely match for her. Luna is ready and waiting for her someone who will look at that beautiful face, welcome her gentle heart and promise that she is home to stay. If you have room for a little playfulness, a lot of love and more than a few kisses, Luna would very much like to know and love you. Apply to adopt Luna through the adoption link, and reach out to her adoption coordinator with any questions. She will be happy to help you decide if Luna is the girl you’ve been waiting for! Story
Bailey has one baby-blue eye, one soft green eye, and the sweetest little way of moving through the world. At only four months old, she is still very much a puppy, all toys, curiosity and growing paws, but there is already something remarkably gentle and easy about her. She plays when it's time to play, settles when things get quiet, and seems genuinely happy just being part of whatever is happening around her. Bailey is beautiful, certainly, but it's the adoring, affectionate, wonderfully balanced little dog behind those mismatched eyes that really gets you. Go watch Bailey on YouTube in “Bailey Blue Skies | The Sweetest Little Head Start” and see this beautifully balanced puppy doing what she does best: playing, exploring and then happily settling into whatever comes next. https://youtu.be/3FofBrrgPuA Bailey is estimated to be around four months old and may be an Australian Shepherd mix, although rescue breed guesses are always just our best estimate. She is being raised in a loving foster home with a wide variety of other dogs, and that experience is giving her such a lovely foundation. Bailey enjoys a good play session with dogs who are interested, but she is also impressively respectful of older dogs and those who would rather sit this one out. She reads the room, takes the hint and moves along without making it personal. She is equally capable of entertaining herself. Bailey will happily grab a toy and play on her own or carry a Nylabone over to her bed and settle in for some quiet time. That ability to shift between play and relaxation is such a nice quality in a young puppy, especially one who still has plenty of growing and learning ahead of her. Bailey is gentle with people and isn't a mouthy puppy. She is already house and crate trained and generally settles into her crate easily. She may offer a brief little protest when the door first closes, because why wouldn't she try to talk you out of your plans but it doesn't last long. She is also a fantastic little passenger. Bailey happily hops into the car, finds herself a seat and settles in for the ride, making her an easy dog to imagine joining her people for everyday adventures. At this age, Bailey is right in that sweet spot where so much of the foundation has already been started, but her future family will still get to be part of teaching her all the things that turn a great puppy into a great grown dog. She could fit beautifully with a single person, a couple or a family with kids, and another friendly playful dog would be a wonderful part of the picture too! If Bailey sounds like the puppy you've been hoping to find, head to her adoption link to submit an application here- https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/6a89d69629806c5ade06bfe2 And if you have questions about Bailey reach out to her adoption coordinator. Story
~~THIS IS A COURTESY POST. THIS DOG IS **NOT** IN THE CARE OF THE ALTERNATIVE HUMANE SOCIETY. TO LEARN MORE ABOUT FINN PLEASE REACH OUT TO HIS OWNER AT smwaters627@gmail.com  THANK YOU~~ Finn is a sweet mini aussie/springer spaniel mix born on June 30, 2021. He weighs around 75lb's, is neutered but not up to date on shots.  Although Finn is sweet He likes to bark at the neighborhood kids. I believe this is due to his herding instincts. I have taken him to the dog park, which he enjoys tremendously, and seems to do well with multiple other dogs around and even people, but he does bark a lot at people and other dogs getting near his property.  We have 2 cats and he likes to herd them. he has never hurt them, only keeps them in line, so dog savvy cats are recommended.  I can say he does well around cats and is adaptable around other dogs but don't trust him around smallish children (older kids may be ok).  Finn LOVES walks and if you say the word "walk" he holds you to the obligation. His leash makes him jump for joy like a jumping bean!! He loves nature trails and may be ok off leash as long as it's not heavily populated. He LOVES tug of war and stuffed animals but he destroys them in 5 mins or less. Finn is a smart boy and can pick up commands with the right training. FYI he knows how to open the refrigerator!  He loves and his protective of his humans. He loves to sleep on his humans’ bed or beside them on the floor. Even though he loves being outside on sunny days he is an indoor dog and likes to be dried off after it rains! ##2753092##
