Story
**If you`re interested in meeting, please fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website https://everettwa.gov/161/Adopt-a-Pet and we will be in touch to schedule an appointment**Hank is a 54-pound male Aussie who has had a lot of recent instability and is looking for a home that can help him feel safe, secure, and understood. He thrives in calm, predictable environments and will need an adult-only, Aussie-savvy home, as children make him feel very uneasy. His previous owner had him for only two months and reported that he came from a difficult situation before that, so Hank has not had a real chance to settle or fully adjust. During that time, he snapped at the youngest child over time and showed some resource-guarding behaviors, but none of the reported incidents broke skin. These behaviors appear to be rooted in fear and stress rather than true intent to harm. He needs a quieter environment where he can decompress and rebuild trust. Because of this, he is not suitable for homes with children, and he’s not an apartment dog or a good match for busy, high-activity settings.Despite his sensitivities, Hank has lived successfully with other social dogs and even cats, showing he can enjoy calm, respectful animal companionship when he feels comfortable. With the right people by his side—patient, experienced, and understanding—Hank has the potential to blossom into a loyal, loving companion who finally gets the stability he deserves.

Say Hello to Zuko.A five-year-old mini-Aussie with a heart that opens fast and wide … one of those dogs who will let you know you’re his new favorite person in about two minutes flat. Zuko wants to ride shotgun.Help you carry groceries.Keep you company while you make dinner.Trail you into the garden to help with the weeding. And at night, find the exact right cuddle in and settle spot. He’s wildly gregarious, and his joy takes off the second he sees people.Because he’s an Aussie, there’s a whole second layer under the charm … bright intelligence, deep attentiveness, quiet problem-solving. But the real magic is his companionship. He has lived successfully with other dogs, but we suspect Zuko would be happiest either as the adored center of attention—or adopted with his brother Uno, his longtime partner and familiar heartbeat. If you’re ready for the kind of dog who makes everything infinitely brighter, Zuko is waiting.A Haiku for ZukoSun moves through tall grassBeautiful dog beside youThe long day softensTHE FIRST STEP IN OUR ADOPTION PROCESS IS TO FILL OUT OUR FORM AT WWW.HAVENRESCUE.ORG/DOGAPPLICATION

Say hello to Uno.A five-year-old mini Aussie who has sweetness in his eyes, quickness in his feet, and is always ready to be part of whatever you’re doing.Life with Uno has motion to it … in the best way. A brisk walk with plenty of sniff-stops and joyful little check-ins.A helpful shadow while you tidy, cook, or bounce between rooms.A sudden burst of zoomies, then a dramatic flop at your feet. And later … a deep sigh, soft landing as he clocks in for cuddle duty.Uno doesn’t just hang around … he tunes in and keeps you in his orbit. The real thing to know about Uno is that he is not a background-character dog.He is full on. Morning coffee.Rainy-day errands.Late-night snacks in the kitchen.Movie night on the couch.Uno will be right there … a BFF companion who wants to experience all of it beside you.Bright-eyed, devoted, and always ready to follow you into whatever comes next.If you have room in your life for an affectionate little whirlwind … an outdoor buddy, a house helper, and a loyal shadow all in one … Uno would love to meet you.He has lived with other dogs and was raised with his brother Zuko, though we think he’ll shine brightest either as your one-and-only sidekick -- or adopted alongside Zuko.Questions? Story
We got him from a breeder in Monroe, and he came home with us May 18th, 2024. We also have a German shepherd that he gets along with well. We also had a skittish cat that he didn't try to bother, though he didnt see her much. He will show his love with his entire body (hes an excited wiggler), and might piddle a smidge if he gets TOO excited but he will go to the door if he needs out. He will bark and lunge at other dogs when we are on walks, and if there are people jogging (we had 7 acres that he had free roam of and we moved to a no-yard cul-de-sac and hes not adjusting to so much noise and movement very well). We have young kids that he does well with but he is also very protective so he will bark at other kids that come over. He really needs space, and less distractions along with someone who will throw a ball for him and let him get his zoomies out. He also wants to sleep in your bed or sit on you when youre watching TV.

Story
We are genuinely not sure how Jesse Bear is a real dog and not a living, breathing teddy bear someone accidentally brought to life. Everything about him is ridiculously cute. From his fluffy little teddy bear face to his constant happy smile, he has this soft, gentle look about him that instantly makes you want to hug him. And honestly? His personality is even sweeter. Jesse Bear is one of those dogs that just seems genuinely happy to be included in whatever is going on. Hanging out in the yard? Amazing. Following you around while you do chores? Best day ever. Snuggling up next to you for attention? Absolutely yes. He has such a gentle, affectionate way about him and naturally leans into people for love like it’s his favorite thing in the world. Being around Jesse just feels easy and comforting, like he’s the type of dog that quickly becomes everyone’s favorite without even trying. Watch his video and fall in love with his sweet personality: https://youtu.be/0ebYmBsgiGU?si=CTo1VpNSKPTnczOV Jesse Bear is believed to be a Shepherd/Husky mix approximately 1 year old and currently weighs 52 lbs. He is a rescue dog and with any rescue it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. We do know that Jesse is as sweet as they come, and to add to his greatness, he is essentially a real life teddy bear with that adorable sweet face of his. This handsome boy has such an easygoing, gentle nature about him and truly seems happiest just being around his people and included in whatever is going on. From what we’ve seen so far, Jesse has been friendly with everyone he has met and has this calm, affectionate way of leaning into people for love that is impossible not to adore. He’s the kind of dog you can picture as your little sidekick for everyday life. Whether that’s hanging out around the house, going on casual adventures, or snuggling up with you at the end of the day. And fair warning now… your camera roll is absolutely going to be taken over by pictures of his ridiculously cute face. Jesse has been around kids ages 5-8 years old and has been nothing but gentle around young kids. While he was with the kids, he did seem to gravitate more towards the 8 year old boy more. Jesse was leaning into him for affection and would keep going back to him and would give him gentle kisses. We do believe that she would be happiest in a home with kids 8 years old and older. Jesse is dog friendly and has done well with the dogs we have introduced to him so far. He has been with dogs his size and dogs smaller than him as well. When it comes to play time, he is good about matching the energy of the other dogs. He will play when play is invited and will enjoy those relaxing hangout moments too. When he does play, it’s consistent with running around, playing games of chase, and with the right dog he’ll engage in more physical type play. Jesse has shared affection with other dogs with no issues and has shared treats around other dogs too. He is a sweet guy that has shown to have such a go with the flow type of personality. Jesse also met our house cat Biggie and met him appropriately and was very respectful around him. He did not chase Biggie, nor was he bothered by Biggie jumping or doing what cats do. Biggie also felt comfortable around him as well. We do not know if he has ever lived in a home before with a cat and this was our first time seeing him with a cat. If you have a cat in the home, we can arrange for Jesse to have a sleepover with a cat upon request. Just let us know! Jesse’s ideal home would include a fenced-in backyard rather than an apartment. He loves being outside, exploring, zooming, soaking up the sunshine, and enjoying all the smells. A yard where he can do all his favorite things would make him one happy boy. At the end of the day, Jesse just wants to be with you. Whether that’s snuggling on the couch, going for a walk, sitting out on the porch, heading out on a little adventure, or even going on a camping trip, he’s in. Work from home? He'll be the best coworker too. Just don't go running to HR because he's smooching on you. Honestly, as long as he’s with his people, he’s exactly where he wants to be. We are willing to test Jesse Bear with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
