**THIS DOG IS NOT IN THE DIRECT CARE OF HAPPY TAILS HAPPY HOMES RESCUE - We are assisting his owner in rehoming him. If you are interested in this dog, please fill out an application at https://www.happytailshappyhomes.org/adoptionform** 🐾 Meet Neo — Your Next Adventure Partner! 🐾 Neo is a striking 3-year-old, 70-pound Australian Shepherd/Labrador mix — with the brains, loyalty, and heart of both breeds rolled into one. His head, mind, and bobbed tail are all Aussie; his sleek black coat and strong build are Lab. (He’s not too fond of cold water, but if you need to cross a creek, he’ll power through right beside you!) Neo is a one-person dog through and through — devoted, intelligent, and happiest when he’s with his person. He’ll do best as a single dog in a calm, consistent home with an owner who understands the Aussie mindset: smart, sensitive, high-energy, and always ready to work or play. He thrives with structure, clear verbal cues, and steady energy. Neo knows his hand signals for sit, down, and stay/wait, and he’s eager to keep learning. He’s superb on off-leash trails, focused and responsive on hikes, and would likely excel in agility, herding, or other active pursuits. Neo loves being outdoors — hiking, running, or helping with chores — and needs an owner who enjoys daily adventures as much as he does. He’s affectionate, “scary-smart,” and has a touch of FOMO (he just doesn’t want to miss out on any fun or cuddles). Because he’s cautious around children and selective with other animals, Neo should be the only pet in an adult household. He doesn’t enjoy loud noises or highly animated environments — he’s happiest with a calm, steady human who appreciates his loyalty and sharp mind. If you’re looking for a bright, athletic, and deeply devoted companion who will be your shadow and sidekick on every trail, Neo could be your perfect match. 📅 DOB: 10/03/2022 🏡 Ideal Home: Active, outdoorsy, one-dog household 🚶‍♂️ Exercise Needs: Daily hikes/walks (2+ miles) ❤️ Personality: Loyal, sensitive, affectionate, “Aussie-smart”

Story
Meet Sweet Girl, Brooklyn – Looking for Her Perfect Home This lovely 3-year-old pup was born in the home of her previous owners who watched her grow up alongside her mom and brother. She’s about 35 lbs—just the right size for snuggling—and she was raised with their family, including their three kids, with whom she’s always been gentle and affectionate. Per her previous owners: She has a fun, spunky side and loves to play with her mom and brother, but she’s also calm and relaxed indoors. She enjoys being petted, cuddled, and simply being near her people. She’s great on a leash, travels well in the car, and knows some basic commands like “sit” and sometimes “stay.” While recall in the backyard can turn into a game for her, she’s much better at coming when called outside of that setting. Now for the quirks—because honesty is important when finding her the right match. Due to a lack of socialization outside our home, she is fearful of unfamiliar people and situations. When she meets new people, she may bark and has been known to nip. Our vet described it as fear-based behavior, not true aggression. With patience and a little time (usually about an hour), she begins to feel safe. We manage introductions carefully—leashing her, giving her space, and letting her approach on her terms. Once she realizes someone is safe, she’s completely comfortable and affectionate. This is the hardest part of rehoming her, because we know how truly sweet and loving she is. We’re moving across the country and, heartbreakingly, our new home only allows two dogs. If we had any other choice, she would be coming with us. She is incredibly smart, eager to please, and highly trainable. With the right person—someone patient, experienced, and willing to earn her trust—we know she will thrive and be a loyal companion PER HER CURRENT FOSTER FAMILY: she’s gotten better with socializing but still takes her a while to warm up to strangers petting her but has come out of the shell with my pack at home and loves playing with all of the especially Oreo and our female cricket :)

Story
Bella is a sweet 9-year-old Miniature Australian Shepherd with a gentle spirit and a heart full of love. She came to Happy Tails Happy Homes under heartbreaking circumstances—her beloved owner had to enter hospice care suddenly, and no one in his family was able to take her in. It broke his heart to say goodbye. Our mission now is to honor his love for her by finding Bella the perfect forever home where she can enjoy her golden years surrounded by care and compassion. Bella has diabetes, but don’t let that scare you—she is a champ at receiving her insulin and follows her routine like a pro. She requires insulin twice a day along with a specialized diet, and her total monthly care costs are approximately $75–$100. To help her transition into a new home, *Happy Tails Happy Homes* will cover the cost of her insulin and food for the first **six months**. Bella adores people and just wants to be by your side, cuddling up and sharing all the love she has to give. She enjoys car rides, walks nicely on a leash, and loves to be included in whatever you’re doing. She has shown to do well with cats and currently lives with four other dogs in her foster home. Bella gets along with all her foster siblings, but she prefers a calm and respectful environment. She does not enjoy rowdy play or dogs who get in her face—if pushed, she will growl, bark, or air snap to ask for space. She’s not aggressive, just setting boundaries. Bella responds well to verbal redirection and listens when told “no.” If you're ready to open your heart to a loyal senior companion and give Bella the peaceful retirement she deserves, please fill out an application at [happytailshappyhomes.org](http://happytailshappyhomes.org) under the "Adopt" tab.

If you are interested in Buzz, please fill out an application at https://www.happytailshappyhomes.org/adoptionform ** Meet Buzz! Buzz is a stunning 5.5-year-old male with beautiful markings and a gentle, easygoing nature. Weighing in at about 75 pounds and standing 18” tall, he’s a solid, handsome boy with a heart to match. Buzz is submissive and respectful around other dogs—both male and female—and has been raised with adult dogs. He’s smart, obedient, and has had some leash training (though a refresher wouldn’t hurt). He’s crate- and kennel-trained, has an even temperament, and absolutely loves being outside. Buzz hasn’t been raised with kids, so he’d likely do best in a home with older children. He’s current on rabies, boosters, and worming, and is ready to find his forever home!

Story
***Carl is NOT in the direct care of Happy Tails Happy Homes. His owner needs to rehome him and we are assisting in that process. If you are interested in Carl, please apply at https://www.happytailshappyhomes.org/adoptionform *** Meet Carl Carl is a smart, loyal, and mellow 5-year-old mixed breed (Australian Cattle Dog, Australian Shepherd, and Mastiff) who forms a strong bond with his people. He’s a healthy 70-lb boy who’s calm for his breed mix and happiest when he’s walking, traveling, or simply hanging out close to his humans. Carl enjoys spending time outdoors in a fenced yard and going for walks of up to two miles. He’s not a fan of long hikes or hot weather and is perfectly content to relax at home for most of the day. He sleeps in the bedroom (but not on the bed) and does well being left alone when his owners are away—though he especially loves going for car rides together. Carl is friendly and affectionate when approached calmly, though he can be startled if someone moves toward him too quickly. He’s protective of his home, especially the front door, and makes an excellent watch dog. He’s also great at keeping wild animals like raccoons out of the yard—helping keep the family’s rabbits and chickens safe from predators. While Carl can be reactive toward other dogs, especially large males, he’s made great progress with training and now sits quietly as other dogs pass on the trail. He gets along well with cats and lived peacefully with an older female cattle dog who recently passed away. Carl would do best in an adult home with people who have experience understanding dog behavior and are willing to continue the gentle, consistent approach that’s helped him thrive. He’s not suited for homes with small children. His current family loves Carl deeply and has cared for him with devotion. They are rehoming him only due to allergies and would love to stay connected—offering to help care for Carl when his new owners travel. Carl is an incredibly loving and loyal companion who will bring joy, protection, and warmth to the right home.

Story
Meet Castiel! Castiel is currently 3 1/2 months old, and we think he may be an Aussiepoo— Australian Shepherd poodle mix, but with rescue it’s always a guess! This puppy is from a part of the US where puppies are regularly euthanized. So, this puppy needs you! If you choose a puppy from this rescue, it saves their life AND it also allows us to save the life of another in its place. Castiel is a joyful boy with a wiry coat, probably moderate to low shedder, and he’s young so he has spunky energy. He likes toys and playing with kids! He tries to instigate play and engagement. Castile is so unique and beautiful! Everywhere we take him, people talk about how unique he is! Castiel is a Good little guy! He played with Jessica - another small playful dog- and he is not too pushy with his play, for a puppy. He played chase for a little bit and would come back up to me to sit next to my feet. Once he got tired he would lay down in front of me and relax taking all the affection he could get. He is a puppy so he will need some training as he gets older, but he will learn quickly because he is very much a people pleaser. When he met my kids ages 4 and 7, he was joyful and wanted to engage with them. He’s very trusting and outgoing. He does like toys and wants to initiate play. He met a cat with us and was uninterested. Watch Castiel's video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BA8uxj60QXw Castiel is currently in a loving foster home and loves to play and take lots of naps! Castiel is a special boy who doesn't let anything slow him down. He has limited eyesight and hearing but is still fully capable of jumping up on the couch for a romp and a snuggle. He is not shy and adores other dogs and wants to be everyone's friend. Castiel is a one of a kind guy! It’s not everyday you get the chance to adopt a blue eyed wonderboy! If you are looking for a friend to spend your days with, Castiel is your guy! Castiel is still young so he will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. Baron's new family will need to continue with potty and crate training and daily exercise. We require a commitment from adoptive families to crate train their new puppy. When old enough, they will be perfect to go on walks and hikes or show off around your neighborhood. You will be guaranteed to get lots of kisses in return from your new best friend! Application link: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/6847277be1ba93663e02dcd5 Please email emilyparsons@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions. This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health. *To fully vet a dog in the PNW or the NE at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 7 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Follow our rescue journey through the links below! https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue *Due to the rising cost of fuel and transportation expenses, there will be an additional $74 surcharge for transport. DISCLAIMER- Breed type is determined based on general appearance and behavioral characteristics, and cannot be guaranteed unless DNA test results or AKC registration were provided at intake.
