I adopted this dog from a friend. River is high energy, and destructive when left alone, though she is very loving, and craves human attention. She is also an escape artist, and my fences will not confine her.

Story
Hello, my name is ENYA, I am about 4 yrs. old, Australian shepherd/Samoyed/Retriever mix. I weigh about 45 lbs, I am microchipped, spayed and up to date with shots. My breed is a mix of Australian shepherd and Samoyed, and I am fostered by the Founder of AnimalDefense Rescue.org [ADR.org] on Orcas Island, WA. I was rescued from a "hoarding case" in CA where about thirty dogs looking like me were seized. My new friends here on Orcas Island (dogs and cats) have helped me, and I love to be with other dogs. I do know my pack, but to get to know a human will take time and while I have made huge progress, I still must feel more comfortable with leashes or harnesses. Once she is attached to the new person/adopter she feels very confident and will follow your commands. ADR.org would like to see her at home. -with an experienced dog owner that will go all the way with me: an additional dog or dogs will help me settle in for sure. - that perseveres with patience, but as the same time is displaying authority so she respects you as leader and feels safe - a home without young children or toddlers as this might overwhelm her - a fenced property (ENYA is not a city dog and/or apartment/high rise building dog) If you are interested in seeing videos, and learning more about me, and meeting me, the first step would be to send an email to: ADR@animaldefenserescue.org, add some photos and tell me a little bit about you. ADR.org will then have a longer phone call with to get to know you. Cheers and big WOOFS from Orcas Island! ENYA April 2023

Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We provide weekly socialization programs for our dogs through playgroups and group leash training classes available to all dogs in our adoption program, and Doggy Sleepover, Doggy Day Out, and Ambassador programs for our boarding dogs. There is a professional dog trainer on staff to provide support for our fosters and dogs, and an off-site dog trainer for dogs that need more extensive behavior modification. This helps us learn deeply about every dog, prepare them for adoption, and ultimately match them with loving families. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Follow our rescue journey through the links below! https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue *Due to the rising cost of fuel and transportation expenses, there will be an additional $62 surcharge for transport. FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Say hello to Lincoln! He is a very high energy, active and sweet 2-year-old, 40 lb Australian Shepherd. He is a happy boy and loves to get attention from his people! He will do great with a family that understands herding dogs and their needs. He can be strong willed and is still working on basic obedience and will need a family that will continue his training. He is working on not jumping up and mouthing right now so he needs an adult only home or a home with kids over 14. He is super sweet, but he has a lot of happy and unfocused energy. He is very smart and will thrive with training. He would love to be in a home in a suburban or rural neighborhood with a securely fenced yard for him to run and play. He will do best in a home where someone is home much of the time. He likes other dogs but can play very rough with them and would rather spend time with his humans so for that reason we are looking for a home for him as an only dog or with another dog who is able to handle his rough play. He will need an adopter that will keep him physically and mentally active and would make a great jogging or adventure buddy. He is up to date on all of his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $450.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Meet Fury! He is a 9-year-old, 55 lb Blue Merle AKC registered Australian Shepherd who was surrendered to us as his owner could no longer care for him. Fury loves to be petted, pampered and groomed. He likes to play by himself with soccer balls and plushie toys, he tosses then around and chases them independently. He loves to lounge in the sunshine. Fury would like to find himself his very own retirement home where he can be an only dog with his own securely fenced yard to relax in during the day, and a cozy kennel at night. He would do best in a home where he can be the only pet. He walks well on a leash for the most part but can be leash reactive and he does not care for other male dogs or dogs who get in his face on leash. He will lunge at cars that pass by as his herding breed instinct takes over. For this reason, he would do best in a quiet suburban or rural neighborhood. He’s been gentle with the young child in his previous home under supervision but nips at the butts of anyone who runs next to him so it is recommended that he goes to an adult only home or with children over 12. When feeding time comes around, he acts as if he is going to be food aggressive/possessive by growling and sounding scary but is really just a marshmallow with no follow through. Fury is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $350.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Say hello to Cricket! She is a sweet 2-year-old, 42 lb, Aussie Shepherd mix who came to us from an overcrowded shelter in CA with her bestie, Junebug. Cricket is initially shy and will need a patient adopter as she learns to trust again. She walks well on a leash, sticking right by your side but is easily startled and we are looking for a home for her outside of the city in a quiet neighborhood. She is crate trained and takes treats gently. She gets along great with other dogs and they give her confidence. She would love another playful dog in the home and/or be adopted with her best friend Junebug! They came together and we would love to see them be adopted together! The link to Junebug's profile is https://www.adoptapet.com/pet/41269128-lynnwood-washington-cattle-dog-mix Cricket is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped and spayed. Her adoption fee is $500.
