Story
Biggie is approximately 3 years old, he is a sweet boy with lots of energy. He is very strong so although he is not aggressive he is not a good fit for families with small children or babies. Biggie needs a fenced in yard where he can run around when you are not home. Biggie goes potty outside. He is very lovable and needs lots of attention, so if you are home a lot he may be the right pup for you!

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please go to our website for all specific information about this dog.  Our info doesn't transfer over to the adoption sites.  There is information you need to know about this dog before applying for adoption so please read his entire profile on our website www.collarofhope.org  BENTLY WOULD DO BEST AS AN ONLY PET.  HE NEEDS A SPECIAL DIET.   Bently came from a local shelter but we did get a lot of info on his past.  He was with his Mom but she passed away.  During that time, he did escape once and a dark-skinned man beat him unmercifully, even dislocating his shoulder, so understandably, he doesn't do well with darker skinned people now.  After his Mom passed, family took him in.  Observing some things at the shelter, they contacted the family with questions and they admitted that they and the kids teased him horribly with toys and food as well as hit him.  He was super hand shy when we got him and would cower when you went to pet and love on him.  He soon realized that it was nothing but kindness for him now.  Eventually, we saw his resource guarding from being teased and tormented when he tried to take a young dogs treat (the pup was crated with food, a bully stick and toys).  This can take some concerted effort to turn around in the right hands. Without these things around, he's a very friendly and loving boy even playing well and hanging out with some of the other dogs we've had him with.  It's probably best if he's the only dog in the home so there is no chance for altercation over food, treats or toys.   He's only 2 years old and has had a pretty crappy life so it's our goal to insure he's placed in the right home, so he's well loved, taken care of and happy for the rest of his life!   He is also allergic to both chicken and beef as well as grains (which no dogs should be fed).  It's easy to find single protein foods for him.  He's currently doing well on the Natures Domain Turkey from Costco.   If you think you can give this gorgeous boy a wonderful life and home, please submit our adoption application to get the process started!      Prior to adoption, our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and parasite treated/prevented.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 22, 2024, 2:07 am

Story
I'm entering the Freedom Tails program and plan to graduate on July 3, 2024! pawsgh.org/freedomtailsBigboi Beef Stew is a great young man who would make a great addition to most homes. He doesn't know his own strengths and can get a bit too rowdy if he gets overstimulated, but calms down with a hug, some chest rubs, and a booty scratch. He adores attention but has never learned the proper way to ask. His go-to right now is to aim for a piece of clothing to try and pull you in and if he goes misunderstood then it turns into a game of tug. There is a certain look that he will give when he needs some extra love and he does great with a hug and a little bit of redirection to a toy. He made his way to us from Hoquiam Animal control where he spent 5-6 months waiting for room with us here at PAWS GH. He has been a joy to get to know while in our care. He is nothing but happy all the time and enjoys the company of anyone willing to say hello. He has made so many new human friends and dog friends here at PAWS and is willing to make many more! He is now one of our long term stays and has been living the shelter life for about 9 months total. He has been patiently waiting for the right family to come along but he is starting to get antsy. He is a very cuddly, loving, smart, playful pup looking for that special home willing to give him a chance to show what a great dog he truly is. Bonus: He has made friends with our most selective dog and longest term resident Jojo! Adopt him with Jojo as part of a AOGO promotion! (Adopt one, get one with no adoption fee)Freedom Tails Update: 4/4/2024Hello, my name is Stewie( for short), and yes I am short too: about 21 inches at the withers–that is the area between my back and my nose in case you were wondering. Today, I weighed in at 80lbs. I am built like a horse, and people say I sound like a horse too. Presumably, they are talking about my heavy footsteps because I am not the whinnying type; I am in fact very quiet most of the time. I will pick-up light barks and whines when other dogs are complaining, but when I am by myself, I am usually very quiet–like I said. Petting me is like petting a horse. All this talk about horses..I suppose I should clarify that I am indeed a bulldog. I imagine you could see that from my stupendous picture. Get it “Stu” pendous-haha.I would really like a new home. I promise I will be good. People say I am super-duper well tempered. I will make an all-around great family dog, Someday…Please apply to adopt at: http://www.pawsgh.org

Story
Meet Bianca, a gorgeous, furry white female pup who was rescued along with her littermates after being found in the desert with their mama in La Paz, BCS, Mexico. Bianca is very outgoing and friendly, always one of the first of her littermates to readily approach humans for attention. She loves to play with her siblings and can be a little mouthy, but as soon as you pick her up she just melts in your arms. She was rescued when she was just a few weeks old, and grew up in a foster home with good vet care, food, and lots of love and attention. Her mama is a small/medium sized beagle/terrier mix around 30 lbs, and we think there is some Shar Pei in this litter from the dad's side. Bianca is sterilized, vaccinated and ready to find her forever family!Meet Bianca in person!
