Story
I am urgently seeking a new home for Amore, a cuddly 2-year-old English Bulldog I have fostered for the past two months. Her owner is unable to take her back, and I can no longer safely keep her in my home. Amore is wonderful with people—affectionate, loving, and happiest when she’s close to her humans. She has never shown aggression toward people and thrives on attention and companionship. Amore must be the only pet. She is territorial with other dogs and was recently involved in a fight that injured my dog. She needs a calm, structured, pet-free home where she can feel secure and succeed. She recently had a full veterinary exam, is current on vaccinations, and is not yet spayed. She appears to be purebred, but no papers are available. My goal is to find Amore a safe, stable, and committed home where she can be loved and given the structure she needs.

Story
Hitchcock is a laid-back, soulful guy looking for a dog-experienced home. Ideally with someone who has owned a bulldog before or has done thorough research on the breed. He’s not the best match for a first-time dog owner, as he can feel overwhelmed in new situations and will need a family that understands canine body language and is committed to making each new experience positive and confidence-building.Hitchcock has a shy demeanor when meeting new people or navigating unfamiliar environments, but with patience and consistency, he begins to settle and show his sweet, gentle side.At this time, his history with other animals is unknown. If placed in a home with another dog, his best match would likely be a calm female dog around his size. As always, adopters must be committed to slow and thoughtful introductions with any resident pets.Because of his sensitivity to new people and situations, Hitchcock is currently looking for an adults-only home where he can feel secure and supported. If you’re experienced, patient, and ready to help a sensitive bulldog thrive, Hitchcock may be the perfect companion for you. Come meet him and see if he’s your match. Stop by the shelter during regular business hours to visit available pets. AVHS is open 6 days a week 11am-6pm, closed Sundays, adoptions wrap up at 5:30pm each day.

Story
Meet Mumu! A lovable, squishy-faced English Bulldog with a big personality, a tender heart, and a whole lot of charm packed into her 3-year-old body. Mumu is looking for a forever home where she can truly be a dog — enjoying companionship, structure, and the comfort of having her people nearby. She thrives when she has company during the day and does best with routine, consistency, and gentle guidance. She’s crate trained and genuinely loves her crate, often choosing it as her favorite place to relax and feel secure. This sweet girl has a playful side and enjoys engaging with her people, though her activity is currently more limited due to healing needs. She’s happiest when she’s included, supervised, and given appropriate outlets to stay mentally enriched without overdoing it physically. Mumu is seeking an experienced adopter, ideally someone familiar with bulldogs or dogs with ongoing medical needs. Her care routine is very manageable for the right person and will feel familiar to those with breed experience. Mumu does have several long-term medical considerations that require commitment and hands-on care. She will need daily and monthly medications, including monthly injections (which she handles like a champ), ongoing management of skin allergies, arthritis pain relief, and careful monitoring to prevent jumping or strain. She also has an upcoming TPLO surgery on her other leg, and we would love for her to recover in a home environment if possible. Down the road, her hips may require surgery as well. Estimated monthly care costs for food and medications are around $275. Her skin care routine includes wiping her feet after outdoor time and keeping her wrinkles clean and dry to prevent dermatitis — small tasks that make a big difference in her comfort and quality of life. Mumu would do best as the only dog in the home and has not been cat tested. A calm, attentive environment with someone who can be present during the day and committed to her physical limitations is essential. Bulldog experience is strongly preferred. Mumu may come with extra responsibility, but she gives back tenfold in affection, loyalty, and that unmistakable bulldog charm. She’s looking for someone who sees beyond her medical needs and is ready to love her fully — wrinkles, routines, and all. Mumu is spayed, crate trained, and available for adoption.

Story
Please meet Forrest! This sweet pup is estimated to be about 10 months old. At a young age, he was abandoned in a park. We don’t know what happened to his mom or if he and his brother were the only ones to survive, but Forrest is resilient with a heart full of joy. Forrest is a happy and playful boy who’s adjusting well to life in a home. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and people. He lives in a foster home with cats but he gets very excited wanting to play when he sees them so he accidentally scares the cats. While he’s gentle and kind, we recommend a home with older kids, as his youthful energy might accidentally knock over toddlers. He's a big wiggle-butt, a very happy boy! Forrest would thrive with a family who can help him with leash training and shower him with the love and attention he deserves. Are you ready to give Forrest the forever home he’s been waiting for? We can drive this pup to your area! If you like this cutie please send us an inquiry here and we'll give you a call and video chat with the pup! Here's the link: www.friendsfurliferescue.org/adoption-application Please copy/paste the above link into your browser ^ Our transport can take this pup to any of the above locations. (YES we also adopt to Canada! Please note: adoption fee is in US dollars.) There is NO transport fee, or any extra fees. All is included in the adoption fee. Thank you! Story
Animal Profile:  Penny is a 2 1/2 year old, 65 lb spayed female English Bulldog mix. She has a tight, clean coat and an adorable under bite. She has guardian-breed tendencies and will need a breed-savvy owner who's able to provide appropriate leadership. She is loyal to her family and loves to snuggle. Her absolute favorite joy in life is Ball! She enjoys playing with other dogs but requires a human who can supervise and advocate for appropriate interactions or she is prone to bullying behavior. She is currently being fostered in a home with two other dogs and is crate-trained, house-trained, and has basic obedience training. She will benefit from structure, leadership, and ongoing training. Once acclimated in a home environment, she loves to snuggle and play and has a goofy, loving personality.  Adopter Profile:  Single family residence required Secure fenced yard preferred Large breed experience required Bully breed experience preferred Other balanced dogs and older children considered on case by case basis Adoption Info: The adoption fee is $400, which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, flea/tick treatment, deworming, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Medical Notes: Penny has had one TPLO repaired in Spring 2025 and fully recovered, before tearing her other CCL in Fall 2025. We will do another TPLO for her with adoption interest.  Animal History:  Penny and her siblings were a surprise litter - their mother was adopted from a local family when she was unknowingly pregnant, so he got much more than he bargained for when she had puppies soon after her adoption. Penny was born on 12/09/22; one of the littermates was  DNA tested and so presumably all littermates are  75% English Bulldog, 12.5% German Shepherd, 12.5% Rhodesian Ridgeback. As puppies, these dogs were playful and engaging. Penny was adopted as a puppy to a family who was not prepared for the tendencies of this breed combination. Without any formal training, she developed territorial behaviors in the home and on walks that ultimately led the family to return her to the rescue. She has since been evaluated and fostered in a DGS foster home. She is currently available for adoption to the greater Seattle area.  January 16, 2026, 10:31 pm
