Woody is a sweet, affectionate boy who loves nothing more than gentle belly rubs and cozy evening snuggles. He’s a loving companion with a playful, active side that will keep you smiling. This energetic pup enjoys a couple of walks each day and absolutely lives for fetch, especially with tennis balls. He’ll politely drop the ball near your feet for another throw, but he also has a hilarious habit of entertaining himself by tossing it, catching it, and zooming around in happy circles. He’s a big fan of his toys and is learning to keep his chewing focused on those instead of household items. Woody is fully potty trained and sleeps soundly in his kennel at night. He’s also great for baths and warm-water rinses, making his grooming routine a breeze. He’s an intelligent dog who already knows “sit” and is working on “down.” His leash manners are coming along nicely, and with continued guidance and a patient adopter Woody will blossom into an even more well-mannered, obedient companion. Meet Allie, a 2019 edition of a party colored Australian Shepherd x Border Collie weighing in at 42 lbs. This beautiful gal came to NWMNAR because her previous owner had to leave abroad to help take care of in-laws and could not take Allie with. Allie loves going to obedience class and showing how smart she is. Allie needs an Aussie savy owner whom can outsmart her. She is best with dogs the same size, she has prey drive towards rabbits and may not do well with cats or other smaller animals possibly including smaller tiny dogs. Allie takes time with strangers and will often back away barking. Allie has been scared of men with hats in the past. She can be a bit barky towards other dogs on walks, but has been learning to play nice. She can be dominant towards other dogs. Allie doesn't like plastic crates, but does just fine in wire crate. Allie must be crated in a vehicle otherwise she will run around in a vehicle pushing window switches until she gets out. Allie is best to go for a walk before a car ride to ensure she doesn't nervous defecate in the vehicle. Allie hides and sleeps under the bed to keep the monsters away. Allie does like to vocalize herself if she sees other dogs outside when she is gazing out the windows. She has just started to play with toys and gets groomed twice a week with a brush. Because NWMNAR is not a public shelter, meet and greets do not take place until an application has been approved and a home visit has been completed in person or virtually. Capp is a small mini. She is fearful but learning to trust while living with her foster. Loud noises and quick movements, send her running. She loves to spend the day with her foster while her foster works from home, often laying a few feet away. She is crate and house trained. She gets along well with dogs and isn't interested in cats. She is learning to walk on a leash outside. She gets nervous when she is away from the backyard but she is trying to get better about walking. She creeps to you for pets....she loves when you pet her. She will sit close enough for you to reach her but not fully in your lap. She needs someone that is interested in building trust with her so that she eventually feels at home and will give in 100% to you. She is making progress with her foster. She loves mealtime. Food makes her wiggle her butt like she should be wiggling it! Unafraid and totally trusting of the person giving it to her.
