Story
Vero is a sweet, energetic English Shepard mix who loves belly rubs. She enjoys being outside in our large fenced in yard most of the time and since the weather has been so nice we have had a hard time getting her to come in.  She is obsessed with trying to catch squirrels and will bark at them, but she is otherwise quiet. Vero prefers to sit mostly on her own, but she handles both people and dogs well. She is currently living with 3 large older dogs and mostly ignores them. There are also cats in our house and she is able to see them but does not have access to them. I do believe she would chase them if she could.  She is fed in her kennel and sits politely until she is let out.  We do not kennel her at night. She sleeps on a blanket on the floor or the couch in our dog room. Vero's leash manners could use some work, as she tends to run around. We have only had her a week and she is still coming out of her shell and has just begun sitting with us when we watch t.v. She may need time to relax into a new environment. She would do best in a home with plenty of outside time as she has plenty of energy to spare. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Dental, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $475.00Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 20, 2026, 8:16 am

Story
Hello – I’m Tami! You were likely drawn to my picture because I am gorgeous, but my personality in real life is sure to melt your heart.I am affectionate and sweet, and my whole face and body light up when I see my people. I am brand new to Minnesota and still settling into my foster home where I am good with everyone, including the gentle dogs and the suspicious cats. I love being with people, but I don’t really know how to live inside yet – everything is new and I want to crawl into little spaces to feel safe. I don’t quite understand how I am supposed to do my “business” with everyone staring at me, so I hold it in until I can get some privacy; my foster family is really happy when I do that outside. I wish I could tell my whole story so you could understand why I sometimes skitter away when people try to grab me or put things over my head. I was found in Alabama as a stray young mama, trying to keep my puppies safe. Some nice people brought us into rescue, where I’ve been getting healthier and am filling out my skinny 45 lb frame. I am now in Minnesota looking for my forever home. My foster family has very quickly fallen in love with me and would love to keep me, but they think there is a super special home for me. I am very smart and very sensitive, and my foster mom thinks my ideal home would be with someone who has experience with dogs like me and who can give me time, patience and heart to support me as I build confidence and trust. I would love to be with someone who understands my herding instincts (so they can keep my brain busy and don’t trip over me when I crouch at their feet!). My foster mom also says that I deserve someone who will be very devoted to me, as I will be a very devoted, special companion. The right dog friend would be nice to help me come out of my shell and learn to be a dog, but some dogs can be a bit overwhelming and scary for me.My foster mom says she’s pretty sure that I am meant to be somebody’s Soul Dog… is that somebody you?--------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.Adoption Fee - $400To apply for this pup, please submit an Adoption Application at http://warriordogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application/

Not good with kids, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Meet Luna, a 12-year-old mini ted tri Aussie who is not ready for the old folk's home. Weighing about 35 lbs and is up to date on shots, Luna has a little arthritis but is otherwise spry and playful and would like to find a home where she can make the most of her golden years. Emulating Dorothy of the Golden Girls, Luna is pushy and opinionated, but also kind and ready for fun and adventures. She's game for playing ball, taking walks, and maybe even learning a new sport like K9 Nose Work or barn hunt. Otherwise she's happy to just chill and hang out. The little old lady that she is, Luna can be crabby with dogs that pester her so she'd do best either as a single dog or with a dog that can read her (clear and appropriate) communications and give her space. In addition, kids stress her out and she would not be suitable for a home with children younger than high school age. She's just not the grandmotherly type. Luna isn't crazy about crates, but she has excellent house manners -- no accidents, chewing, or getting into stuff. However, she's not above occasionally lolling around on the sofa. Girl likes her comforts! She also likes her groceries and needs someone who can help her watch her waistline as she needs to drop a few pounds for optimal health. Overall she's a fun little dog looking for the right person or people to share her senior years with. The details: Needs a fence: Probably not after she realizes you are her person. Good with cats: Unknown Good with dogs: Yes if they don't pester her or try to steal her stuff when she's using them (toys, chews, etc,) Good with kids: No young kids All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.com. All dogs have an adoption fee of $400 plus MN sales tax. We pride ourselves on matches that are awesome for both the dog and your family. Story
ymphony is a stunning blue merle female with two blue eyes. Turning 2 in June, Symphony has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on shots. Symphony has a very shy, quiet personality. She came to rescue very undersocialized and really unsure of how to handle living in a home where she has freedom to move freely. Initially, she would hide in her crate and would startle at all noises, leading her to run back to her crate. Now she is showing more curiosity in exploring her environment and will now cuddle on the couch with her foster parents and foster diblings. Her first instinct is to run and hide, so she is considered a flight risk at this time. She does enjoy walks, but still does panic at strange noises. Symphony is learning that there's much to explore and her curious nature is slowly emerging. Symphony is crate trained and does love her crate. However, during the day, she is allowed to be out and about and she will hang out quietly while her foster dad works from home. Symphony is also doing well with the resident dogs; she's not really playing with them yet, but will lay quietly nearby or cuddle a bit with them on the couch. At this time, it is believed that she could do well as an only dog or with another dog who is not pushy. Symphony will need a home that is more quiet with less foot traffic and understands her need for slow introductions, extra time for adjusting to new environments, and a willingness to match her pace. She will not be a dog that will instantly bond with you and be ready for all of the adventures right away. But her heart is open and she's looking for her forever family to bond with. The details: Needs a fence: Yes Good with cats: Unknown Good with dogs: Yes if they're not pushy Good with kids: Seems fine, but probably would prefer older kids or teens who are more quiet & calm All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.com. Story
Odin is a 5 year olds, neutered male black bi Australian Shepherd. He is 37 pounds, housebroke, good with cats, and likes people but is bit nervous around strangers. He does pull on leash some, is well mannered in the house and can sit, down and shake. Odin is currently living in a foster with 6 other dogs with no issues. Odin was a transfer from a shelter in Iowa due to the fact that he has issues with body handling and needs some work in cooperative care to get him comfortable with grooming and vet visits. His foster is working on muzzle training and desensitizing him to brushing. Odin is very treat motivated and loves his training sessions on the grooming table. Scroll down on our facebook to see a live session on cooperative care using Odin as a demo. In that video I mention that Odin is headed to a new home. We took him there but the resident dog and Odin decided very quickly that they did not want to share a home and he came back to his foster the same day. The details: Needs fence: no, but unsure how he is off leash Good with dogs: yes, actively avoids conflict in house with 6 other dogs. Good with cats: yes Good with kids: likely not due to issues with bodily handling. Older kids would be fine. All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.com.
