Story
Vero is a sweet, energetic English Shepard mix who loves belly rubs. She enjoys being outside in our large fenced in yard most of the time and since the weather has been so nice we have had a hard time getting her to come in.  She is obsessed with trying to catch squirrels and will bark at them, but she is otherwise quiet. Vero prefers to sit mostly on her own, but she handles both people and dogs well. She is currently living with 3 large older dogs and mostly ignores them. There are also cats in our house and she is able to see them but does not have access to them. I do believe she would chase them if she could.  She is fed in her kennel and sits politely until she is let out.  We do not kennel her at night. She sleeps on a blanket on the floor or the couch in our dog room. Vero's leash manners could use some work, as she tends to run around. We have only had her a week and she is still coming out of her shell and has just begun sitting with us when we watch t.v. She may need time to relax into a new environment. She would do best in a home with plenty of outside time as she has plenty of energy to spare. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Dental, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $475.00Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 19, 2026, 3:17 pm

Story
Hello – I’m Tami! You were likely drawn to my picture because I am gorgeous, but my personality in real life is sure to melt your heart.I am affectionate and sweet, and my whole face and body light up when I see my people. I am brand new to Minnesota and still settling into my foster home where I am good with everyone, including the gentle dogs and the suspicious cats. I love being with people, but I don’t really know how to live inside yet – everything is new and I want to crawl into little spaces to feel safe. I don’t quite understand how I am supposed to do my “business” with everyone staring at me, so I hold it in until I can get some privacy; my foster family is really happy when I do that outside. I wish I could tell my whole story so you could understand why I sometimes skitter away when people try to grab me or put things over my head. I was found in Alabama as a stray young mama, trying to keep my puppies safe. Some nice people brought us into rescue, where I’ve been getting healthier and am filling out my skinny 45 lb frame. I am now in Minnesota looking for my forever home. My foster family has very quickly fallen in love with me and would love to keep me, but they think there is a super special home for me. I am very smart and very sensitive, and my foster mom thinks my ideal home would be with someone who has experience with dogs like me and who can give me time, patience and heart to support me as I build confidence and trust. I would love to be with someone who understands my herding instincts (so they can keep my brain busy and don’t trip over me when I crouch at their feet!). My foster mom also says that I deserve someone who will be very devoted to me, as I will be a very devoted, special companion. The right dog friend would be nice to help me come out of my shell and learn to be a dog, but some dogs can be a bit overwhelming and scary for me.My foster mom says she’s pretty sure that I am meant to be somebody’s Soul Dog… is that somebody you?--------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.Adoption Fee - $400To apply for this pup, please submit an Adoption Application at http://warriordogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application/

Story
Meet Spark, a mid‑December 2025 baby with long legs, a soft heart, and a whole lot of devotion packed into his 16 pounds. This Border Collie mix is the perfect blend of silly and snuggly. He trots around with puppy confidence, playing with toys and enjoying life. When it’s time for a break, he wants to be near his people, chilling out together. Spark’s favorite thing in life is people. Dogs are fun, toys are good, but his person is everything. He plays well with the other dogs in his foster home, but he consistently chooses human companionship over canine company. He’ll be happiest with a family that enjoys a dog-friendly active lifestyle and carries a calm, easygoing energy. Think walks, exploring new places, and then relaxing together afterward. Daily exercise will keep him happy. He’s curious about the world and has already experienced car rides, new environments, suburban sights and sounds, and meeting new dogs. He’s comfortable around cats, giving them a polite sniff before moving on. Best in a home with kids roughly 10 and over. Spark is working hard on house training and does best with a predictable schedule. He needs frequent breaks at this age. Crating isn’t his favorite, but he settles best when he can see or hear his person nearby. On leash, he’s still figuring things out, primarily by following the lead of older, more experienced dogs. Spark will do well with a canine sibling and can be an only dog. Families with herding‑breed experience is preferred to help guide his bright, sensitive mind. He’ll also need support learning to be comfortable on his own, because his instinct is to stay close and be with his people. Obedience classes are required to ensure he has a solid start to a long life of going with you everywhere: he will no doubt be your best friend. If you’re looking for a devoted, leggy little shadow who will adore you endlessly, Spark is ready to light up your life. See more videos of Spark at https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5ZDuP3CNniSx5VVqPczSHFQSSxH59T8I Spark is being fostered in Brooklyn Park, MN. Spark's adoption fee is $550 + MN sales tax. He is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. He will be neutered and microchipped at the age of roughly 6 months. The cost of this procedure is included in his adoption fee. Upon adoption, all of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Story
I’m Lark, a thoughtful, sweet 17# Border Collie girl born in mid-December 2025. I’m looking for a family that understands the best relationships are built on trust, patience, and love. My personality shines brighter every day, and I am truly a special girl. At first, I'm a little shy - the big world is new to me! At my core, I am a happy, playful, affectionate pup who absolutely adores my people. I love chew toys, wrestling with my foster canine sister, zooming around at the park, and soaking up praise and love from the humans I trust most. I’m a sensitive soul, true to my breed. My life's goal is a deep connection with my family – you can see it in my eyes! I will be completely devoted to my very own special people. Because I’m still learning about everything, I want to find a patient home that will help me build confidence at my own pace. Positive, low-key socialization is very important. Loud noises, cars rushing by, and pressure can feel overwhelming. Obedience classes are a must - I learn quickly and love it! I’m learning to walk on leash, getting on a potty schedule, and do well in my crate after some exercise and mental stimulation. I sleep quietly in my crate at night. Because I'm still very young, I need potty breaks every few hours. My ideal family has experience with Border Collies, or maybe other higher-energy, smart dogs. They will enjoy keeping my mind and body active as much as I do. A confident canine sibling would be a huge bonus because another friendly pup helps me feel brave and secure. Teen kids that won't overwhelm me could be a good fit. Dog-savvy cats are probably okay too if they won’t run, because I might chase them for fun! My foster mom says: It's easy to tell when Lark trusts you: she looks to you for guidance and support. Once that connection is built, your heart will belong to her forever. The very lucky family that adopts Lark will find they have their a once-in-a-lifetime dog. If you can see my loyal heart waiting to bloom into your best best friend, we should meet! APPLY to adopt me at hoabcr.org/how-to-adopt Lark is being fostered in Eagan, MN. Lark's adoption fee is $550 + MN sales tax. She is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines.
