Story

Remember that handsome juvenile delinquent from high school that eventually grew up to be a solid citizen? Meet Billy. Billy spent the first year of his life in a kennel in a small town shelter with very little interaction with people and no doggy playmates. He has now been in an ARM foster home since August while he has learned about the world. He is currently peacefully living with 5 other dogs and 2 dog savvy cats. He loves to wrestle wildly with the other young dogs in the home and would absolutely chase those cats if they would just run. He loves to tear up dishtowels and dirty socks. Billy has the most awesome playbow of any dog we have seen. He can be mouthy when excited and needs to be reminded to be careful. He pulls hard on leash (would be a good candidate for a head halter and more training) but can be walked in a rural area off leash and has a reliable recall. Billy is crate trained and food and tug motivated for training. He is still scared of strangers and shows that with deep, loud barks that can be intimidating. He is increasing his circle of friends and once you win his trust you can do anything with him. Fence:no Kids: maybe older ones Cats: maybe Dogs: yes All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.com. This boy was brought back because he was too much of a puppy who chewed because he was left alone and bored. So he is on the hunt for a family who will understand his needs and keep him busy!! He has a lot of energy and playing is his thing. He likes to play with other dogs, chew on toys and run run run. He does fine with kids, will have to learn about cats. He will need some work on housetraining and leashes. He is a bit stubborn when learning manners so will need a family who can work with that. A routine that occupies his time would also be a plus as that works with his breed mix. He is a sweet boy that has a wonderfully fun personality who just wants to live to the fullest. He needs a life full of adventures and activities and we know that family is out there for him. Dax is being fostered in TN but no worries because we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. East TN. Out of state welcome. Transport may be available to your area in the Great Lakes or northeast regions. If you are seeing this in Adopt a Pet the great news is that the transport fee is included in the adoption fee. We use rescue riders for all our transport needs because they are the best. Meet Minnie. She and her sister were surrendered to rescue by their owners who said they were 4-5 months old. When we received them they were certainly not 4-5 months old they were only 4-5 weeks old!! We were not aware if this and would have sent them back to be with their momma, however when we saw their condition we decided they would be better off with us. They were loaded with fleas and their skin had open sores and rashes and raw spots and infection from scratching the fleas. They were finally healthy enough for their spay and are about eight weeks old now. They have had two rounds of puppy vaccines and spay and microchipped. They will need two more rounds of puppy shots and rabies when they are old enough. They are super sweet puppies and a little shy at first but they have pretty good confidence. We were told momma was a rat terrier type and they said daddy was a mixed breed medium sized dog. So we can o it guess they will turn out to be a small-medium size fully grown. We offered to have momma and daddy spayed and neutered and were told they have vouchers for them already. Apply at petpath.org

Weebles is a 6-month old neutered male border collie/bully mix (his parentage is known). His date of birth is November 12, 2023 - and we actually know his date of birth which is very unusual in rescue! Weebles was adopted as a young puppy but after a few months his owners decided that a young, energetic puppy was not what they wanted in life as they did not have the time or energy to focus on training him. Weebles is a sweetheart of a dog and is always up for an adventure! Weebles is a very energetic little dude weighing in at 36 pounds currently, and will probably top out at 40-50 pounds fully grown. He is house and crate trained and LOVES to rough-house with other dogs; he is respectful of dog-savvy cats but if he knows he can make a cat run, he thinks this is a very fun game and loves to antagonize more fearful cats so he can turn it into a game of chase. Weebles is very smart and enjoys learning new things with treats and toys being his reward. He enjoys meeting new people and going for walks and runs. Weebles is a sweet, sweet boy who deserves to find a forever-home!
