Hello, my name is: CharlieDOB: 07/16/2022Weight: 55.6 lbsSex/Breed: Neutered male Basset HoundRescued From: Breeding farm After living his prior life loose on a farm with little human interaction, home life is very new to sweet Charlie. His foster home is his first experience being an indoor pet, and even after a few months, everything is still quite scary. Slowly but surely, Charlie is learning to trust and making progress, and a bit more of his silly personality comes out every day. That said, he is still very shy and prefers the company of other dogs to humans at this point (men seem especially scary to Charlie). He`s not used to any sort of affection or attention, and tends to panic a bit when the focus is on him. Leash walking is very new to Charlie so he is looking for a forever home with a fenced in yard to keep him safe as he learns that leashes aren`t so bad. Watching his canine foster siblings trust people and following them around has really helped Charlie, so he`s looking for a forever home with some resident dogs he can learn from. Meeting cats was uneventful, so we think he would be fine in a home with cats. Charlie is looking for a quiet home with a kind and patient family willing to give him the space, time, and support he needs to overcome his past and adjust to his new way of life. We have no doubt that he will be well worth the effort, and can`t wait to see him thriving in his forever home!
