Story
My step daughter adopted her as a puppy, but she has gone to college and I can't afford to keep her. She's good with cats, chickens, older kids, she should be watched with younger children, although has always lived with them. She can be protective of the house and her people. She's been around livestock, she shows quite a bit of interest, but could be trained to get along with them I believe. The other day she met a teenage deer in the woods and they sniffed each other, and she started play bowing and seemed to want to be friends! She would do great in a farm type situation, especially where she could be a guardian. She can be bossy, and would do best with someone who understands guarding breeds. She can be on the fence about other dogs. She's always lived with them, but introducing them takes time. She is highly trainable, very affectionate, loves to cuddle and be next to you, bonds tightly with her people. She has some anxiety, that we have been working on.

This cutie pie is Maverick. He's a Basset/Shepherd mix which is obvious in his good looks! (He's called a &#194&#147low rider.&#194&#148) Maverick is one year old and weighs 44 pounds. His foster says he's fun, vocal and sweet. She also says he's quite the curious boy. Add to all of that, and his dog friendliness, and you have a fine boy with a great temperament and, oh course, those short legs!!! (posted 2/5/26, ME) Adoption Fee: $395.00-- covers microchip, worming, all vaccines, monthly heart worm preventative, monthly tick/flea preventative, spaying/neutering, health certificate, and complete medical records. Transport Fee: $160.00-- We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. Jeremy has returned to the shelter through no fault of his own. Unfortunately, there has been a change in the family dynamic and sadly neither party is in a position to take him, so he was returned to the safety of the shelter where we are going to find this young man another family to love him. He has been spending his days keeping his owner company while they worked from home, so we are unsure how he is going to handle long days home alone. He was trusted to roam the home freely because he`s potty trained and a good boy. He is not crate trained but with a little patience hell get it if you work outside the home. Reportedly he has been good with kids of all ages, but he does jump up to greet. He is reactive to both dogs and cats so he needs to be the only pet, but he is an awesome companion and has enough love to satisfy any family. Don`t let Jeremy wait long.

She’s curious, cuddly, and loves being close to her people.  Bea and Bridget were adopted together by a sweet elderly couple, but caring for two young puppies proved to be more than they could manage. Like many littermates, they compete over food and toys, so we feel they’ll do best adopted separately, where each can shine and bond fully with their new family.                                                                              KENNEL ID #18804 Meet Sweet Amber &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Amber came heartbreakingly close to losing her life at a high-kill animal control facility in Greeneville, TN. She was picked up as a stray with her puppy, and while her baby was adopted, Amber was sadly left behind and scheduled for euthanasia. Thankfully, A Voice for Pets Rescue learned of her situation and stepped in just in time—rescuing her on the very day she was set to be euthanized. Since then, Amber has proven to be an absolute gem. She gets along beautifully with other dogs of all sizes, is 100% crate-trained and house-broken, and is as sweet as they come. She also walks nicely on leash (with a little “power-steering” assist ). Amber is approximately 5 years old and fully vetted—spayed, heartworm-negative, dental, and up to date on all vaccinations. She looks like a Beagle/Boxer mix and is the perfect medium size at about 30–35 pounds Her foster admits she’s getting very attached (who wouldn’t?), because Amber truly is the perfect dog. Now all that’s missing is the forever home she so deeply deserves.
