KEVIN (Napa, CA) Meet Kevin Kevin’s story begins in Bakersfield, where he was heartbreakingly abandoned before making his way to Günter’s Legacy Animal Rescue. While we may never know what led to that moment, it’s clear Kevin was deeply loved at some point in his life. When he first arrived at his foster home, he would sit quietly by the sliding glass door and softly whine, as if waiting for someone he missed dearly. Today, Kevin is settling in beautifully and showing everyone just how special he truly is. About 2 years old and 15.5 pounds, Kevin is full of love and life. He is fully housetrained, walks nicely on leash, and gets along wonderfully with the other dogs in his foster home — both neutered males and females. He’s a smart little guy who quickly learns routines and happily puts himself in his crate at mealtimes and bedtime without being asked. During the workday, Kevin makes the perfect office assistant. He quietly keeps his foster mom company while she works from home, either resting by her desk or contentedly chewing a bone. He’s playful, gentle when taking treats, and always ready for a walk followed by a cozy snuggle on the couch. We haven’t yet tested Kevin with cats or small children, and we are still learning how he does with men — updates to come. Based on his short legs, long body, and adorable spotted belly, we suspect he may have some Dachshund and Rat Terrier in his mix. His foster mom’s only “complaint”? Kevin is a bit of a table beggar. But with his sweet, loving personality, it’s hard to hold that against him. He is currently being fed three times a day to help him reach a healthier weight. Kevin has recently been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He is ready to find the forever home he deserves — one that will cherish his loyalty, intelligence, and affectionate heart. Wishbone is a sweet, low-to-medium energy pup who loves short play bursts, long naps, and cuddling under blankets. He’s a total couch lounger and enjoys daily walks for all the Beagle sniffs! He’s crate-trained, house-trained, and knows basic commands. Wishbone is also a great office dog — calm and happy to snooze nearby. He prefers to be the only pet and would do best in a home without small children. While he’s good with respectful kids 10+, he finds younger ones too unpredictable. He can be a little possessive with attention over time around other dogs. Wishbone does have some separation anxiety and needs time to adjust to new places, but with patience, he settles in well. He’s neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines. He’s looking for a loving, patient home where he can be someone’s loyal shadow, couch snuggler, and walking buddy.
