Story
Meet Sweetie! Sweetie was found running down a busy road Riverside, but you’d never know it - she is as perfect as they come! She is a 2-3 year old beagle mix, about 34 pounds, and exactly what her name promises. She is incredibly gentle, affectionate, and happiest when she’s curled up next to you soaking up attention. She loves her walks and has great leash manners, no pulling or jumping. She already knows commands like sit and stay, is potty trained and is picking up home routines quickly. She absolutely loves her people and thrives on human attention, so we’re working on helping her build a healthy balance of affection and independence. She gets along great with the resident dog and is just an all around wonderful, easygoing girl. 🤍 When left alone, she sleeps peacefully on the couch without a peep! Meet Sheldon Male DOB: March 1, 2026 Weight: 7 lbs and growing Breed: Beagle Mix Neutered (Fixed) (age-appropriate / pending) Vaccinated Microchipped Healthy & Adoption-Ready Sheldon is a gentle little soul with a quiet sweetness that makes him instantly special. At just a few months old, he’s still discovering the world—learning that people bring comfort, that playtime is fun, and that love is something he can trust. He’s the kind of puppy who doesn’t demand attention, but once you notice him, you realize how deeply loving he really is. Personality Sheldon is affectionate, thoughtful, and softly playful. He enjoys exploring at his own pace and has a calm, gentle way about him that makes him easy to connect with. He’s the type of puppy who will sit close, watch, and slowly lean into you once he feels safe. He has a playful side too—curious and engaged—but it comes with a softer energy that makes him feel especially sweet and endearing. Ideal Home Sheldon would do best in a home that can offer patience, structure, and love. He will thrive with a family willing to guide him as he grows and help build his confidence. Owner Responsibilities Training, socialization, routine, and consistency are essential. Puppies require time, attention, and guidance to grow into well-balanced adult dogs. Things to Consider He will grow into a medium-sized, active dog. Please ensure your lifestyle allows for the time, energy, and lifelong commitment required. The 3-3-3 Rule 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience and love, Sheldon will truly blossom. Veterinary Care Fully vetted for age; continued care required. Important Note Sheldon is an indoor family dog. He is not to be chained or left outside. Story
I’m Flo (short for Florence, after the street where I was found), and apparently no one responded to Forte’s pleas to find my family. I wish I could tell them how I ended up on the street, but they’ll have to guess. But someone treated me well because while I’m a tad shy at first, I warm up quickly and love to snuggle with my person. I’m very calm and quiet—in fact, no one has heard me bark yet. I can quietly blend into your day, and going for a walk with you feels like heaven to me. If you are interested in meeting Flo, please download the Adoption Questionnaire, fill it out and email it back to us at info@farescue.org or fax (310) 362-0321. You can also meet this and/or other available dogs at our weekend adoptions. [Flo is about 2 years old and weighs 33 lbs.] (2605)

Story
Meet Jordan — The Life of the Party in a Fluffy Package 🐶 3 years old | Spayed Female | Mixed Breed | 55 lbs Jordan is a happy, energetic, and affectionate girl who’s ready to bring sunshine into your life! Weighing about 55 lbs (25 kg), she’s the perfect size for outdoor adventures and indoor snuggles alike. Jordan was rescued from the euthanasia list at a Korean city shelter. A compassionate individual pulled her just in time, and she’s since been living at a private boarding facility, waiting patiently for her forever home. She has already completed her heartworm treatment, is fully vaccinated, and spayed — healthy and full of life! 💛 Why Jordan will steal your heart: Extremely friendly with both people and dogs No separation anxiety, no barking issues — just a calm and social pup Walks beautifully on a leash and loves outdoor time Loves to play, especially with doggy friends Prefers outdoor potty and is clean indoors High shedding (7–8/10), but totally worth it for all that fluff and love She hasn’t met cats yet, but she’s shown such a gentle and open personality that with proper introductions, she may adjust well. Jordan’s personality is best described in three words: playful, affectionate, and social. She’s not just a dog — she’s a best friend, a cuddle buddy, and your future adventure partner. If you're looking for a well-rounded dog with a big heart and a bigger smile, Jordan is your girl.

Story
Meet Finnegan in LA– Stunning, Sweet & So Ready for Love! Finnegan, rescued from a local LA shelter, was intended to be on our Freedom Flight to Minnesota after the LA wildfires, but a last-minute medical treatment meant he had to stay behind. Now fully healed, this beautiful boy is ready and waiting for his forever home in Los Angeles. And here’s the truth: Finnegan risks getting overlooked. Why? Because he’s a black dog with a “Staffy look”—two things that unfairly work against even the best dogs. But in person? He’s a total heart-stealer. Sweet, affectionate, and always ready to give kisses. At just 1 year old and 27 lbs, Finnegan is the perfect mix of playful and cuddly. He loves people, enjoys attention, and would likely be happiest as your one-and-only pup. He’s healthy, vaccinated, and recently neutered—ready to go home today. If you’re looking for a dog who will adore you endlessly, please don’t scroll past this hidden gem. Finnegan deserves to be seen. He deserves a chance. ****************************** ABOUT SHELTER STRESS Dogs who have lived in shelters for a long period develop behaviors due to an environment that is loud, chaotic, and stressful, even in the best shelters in the US. Dogs in shelters have limited socialization exposure to people and urban environments. DoVE dogs also come from a traumatic background such as dog meat farms and slaughterhouses. While many dogs acclimate within a few months with consistency, structure, and patience, some more sensitive dogs can take longer to rehabilitate. It's important to note that these sensitive dogs are even more attuned to human emotions and behavior, making for a deeper human-dog connection.

Story
Hi! I'm Liz Quakers nice to meet you! I am 16 years old! No idea what happened to my people but I ended up in the same shelter I was adopted from as a baby! I am really lucky the nice rescue folks came to get me because my 16 year old lady bones certainly did not deserve shelter life! I can't see very well but I navigate around like a boss! I have early stage kidney disease so I am on a special renal diet-just food for dogs-and take some supplements as well I am house broken and spend most of the time napping but I do like walks too and I am great with other dogs and cats wanna adopt me and spoil me rotten? p.s. I like to howl at the ambulance and my foster mom thinks it's hilarious Please note: All of our dogs reside in private foster homes. Once you submit an application, our volunteer adoption team will screen it; if your application is a potential match for a specific dog, it will be forwarded to the foster parent, who will contact you to answer questions and schedule a meet-and-greet. Please be aware that we do not transport our dogs. If you are applying from out of state, we require that you travel to Los Angeles to meet us and ensure the dog returns home with you via a car or an in-cabin flight. www.apurposefulrescue.org/adoptable-dogs
