Story
Meet Finnegan in LA– Stunning, Sweet & So Ready for Love! Finnegan, rescued from a local LA shelter, was intended to be on our Freedom Flight to Minnesota after the LA wildfires, but a last-minute medical treatment meant he had to stay behind. Now fully healed, this beautiful boy is ready and waiting for his forever home in Los Angeles. And here’s the truth: Finnegan risks getting overlooked. Why? Because he’s a black dog with a “Staffy look”—two things that unfairly work against even the best dogs. But in person? He’s a total heart-stealer. Sweet, affectionate, and always ready to give kisses. At just 1 year old and 27 lbs, Finnegan is the perfect mix of playful and cuddly. He loves people, enjoys attention, and would likely be happiest as your one-and-only pup. He’s healthy, vaccinated, and recently neutered—ready to go home today. If you’re looking for a dog who will adore you endlessly, please don’t scroll past this hidden gem. Finnegan deserves to be seen. He deserves a chance. ****************************** ABOUT SHELTER STRESS Dogs who have lived in shelters for a long period develop behaviors due to an environment that is loud, chaotic, and stressful, even in the best shelters in the US. Dogs in shelters have limited socialization exposure to people and urban environments. DoVE dogs also come from a traumatic background such as dog meat farms and slaughterhouses. While many dogs acclimate within a few months with consistency, structure, and patience, some more sensitive dogs can take longer to rehabilitate. It's important to note that these sensitive dogs are even more attuned to human emotions and behavior, making for a deeper human-dog connection.

Story
Odie came into rescue after being hit by a car, and had a fractured right rear femur.  Had a very expensive surgery, and is still on four more weeks of crate rest...but the leg is as good as new. About 2 years old, and about 22 pounds.  He is the sweetest, very mellow boy.  Loves everyone.  No cats.  But Odie loves other dogs, and would be fine with older considerate children. Definitely needs a yard.  No apartments or condos.  He's a strong boy (twice the height of a Dachshund) with long legs. If you're interested in adopting this love, please complete an adoption application on our website to be pre-approved:  www.dachshundrescueoflosangeles.comNovember 1, 2025, 6:13 pm

Story
Hi there, nice to meet you! Thank you for noticing a sweet beagle boy like me. I'm a darling pup who was recently rescued by BFP from an animal testing laboratory. Did you know that thousands of beagles-- innocent dogs just like me-- are used as test subjects in experimental research trials every year? Now that I'm safe with Beagle Freedom Project, I'm dreaming of finding a forever home! Little is known about my specific personality at this time, but the BFP Team believes that I'm a friendly dog who will do best in a home with another loving pup! I'll thrive with a patient and compassionate adopter who understands that I've never gotten to be a normal dog before, so I'll need lots of support as I navigate a big new world for the very first time! Could you be the family I've always hoped for?

Story
Hi, I’m Noll! I was rescued from an animal testing facility, and I’m still learning what it means to feel safe and loved. I can be a little shy when you first meet me, but once you come close and show me kindness, I warm up quickly! I love sniffing around and exploring all the new scents in this big, exciting world. Every day I’m getting a little braver, and I’m even starting to enjoy going on walks. I’m still figuring things out, but I’m making steady progress and surprising everyone with how far I’ve come. If you’re patient ready to help a sweet boy grow into his confidence, I’d love to explore life by your side. 📍 My Location: LOS ANGELES, CA Please note: Third-party sites like PetFinder or Adopt-a-Pet may sometimes list multiple locations for the same animal.
