Story
Captain is an adorable, healthy younger senior — a beagle/shepherd mix, around 9 or 10 years old — looking for a long-term foster or forever home. While he lives peacefully with other dogs, he’ would prefer to not share his person, and would be happy to have you all to himself - or with maybe a cat friend, as his past best friend was a feline.  LIFESTYLE: Calm, easygoing, fine being left alone. Fully housebroken. Doesn't get on furniture or chew things he shouldn't.LIKES:  Riding in a car, chasing a ball (and then you chasing him back), belly rubs, kids & babies of any kind, kitties, getting brushedLIKES NOT SO MUCH: Thunderstorms, baths (showers ok), hair dryers (towel drying a big YES), vacuum cleaners (even if off). A little too curious about fowl, so no chickens please. Just a good ol’ boy looknig for a peaceful home and somebody to love and love him back.  If you think you can be Captain's mate, let us know at dirtroaddoggiesrescue.org.To foster, complete a Foster App; to adopt, complete an Adoption App and specify Captain as your dog of interest.  ##2527573##

Story
Harley is a sweet girl, about 10 years old. She was rescued in 2018 (with my ex), along with 3 other Beagles (Bonnie, Clyde and Max) at different times. Since then, Bonnie and Max were rehomed and Clyde was put down end of last year due to congestive heart failure. I am a retired 23 year veteran who has PTSD, ADHD and anxiety. My home life has since changed. Harley is sweet and loving, she would love companionship in a healthy home environment. Thank you. I am willing to help support transition as well

Story
Charlie Brown is a playful puppy who is learning what it means to be a loved house pet. He may be a little shy at first, especially with strangers, but once he knows you, he quickly becomes trusting and affectionate with familiar faces. He is currently working on house and crate training and is doing well as he continues to learn his routine. Charlie Brown has already come a long way in just a couple of weeks, especially considering he likely spent most of his life as a street dog. With a little patience, consistency, and love, Charlie Brown will continue to blossom into a wonderful and loyal companion. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.

Story
A foster to adopt option is available for Billy Ray so you can get to know one another before making it official. Meet Billy Ray: a sweet senior Beagle ready for a fresh start. At 10 years old and around 20 pounds, Billy Ray came to us from a large hoarding situation where he lived among 80+ other dogs with very little exposure to the outside world. Despite his past, he is incredibly gentle and kind, with a loving nature. Billy Ray is learning to enjoy life’s simple comforts.. soft beds, fresh air, and the presence of caring people. He does well with other dogs and would thrive in a calm, patient home that will give him the time he needs to continue building confidence. A fenced yard would be ideal for safe exploring at his own pace. This sweet boy is ready to spend his golden years surrounded by love. Billy Ray may be a little shy at first, but once he feels safe, his gentle spirit truly shines. Billy Ray currently weighs about 20lbs., is approximately 10 years old (est. birth date 12/22/15), and his adoption fee is $85. Billy Ray has been neutered, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. If you want to know more about Billy Ray, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.
