Story
Meet Penny Lou  Penny Lou is a one-year-old, petite 20-pound beagle with soulful eyes and the softest ears. This little lady has already been through more than her fair share in her first year, but she hasn’t let that dim her gentle, loving spirit. Now, she’s ready to start her next chapter—with a forever family who will cherish her the way she deserves.  She is spayed and up to date on all vaccines.   Penny Lou is the definition of a cuddle bug. She’s incredibly sweet, submissive, and affectionate, and her favorite place in the world is right next to her person—preferably curled up on the couch for a cozy nap. She loves treats and meal times.  She would do best in a home where someone is around most of the day, as she truly thrives on companionship and being close to her people.  Penny Lou is friendly with older kids who understand her gentle nature. Penny Lou has not been tested with cats.   Penny Lou is crate trained and mostly potty trained. Like many dogs adjusting to a new environment, she may have a few accidents at first, but she’s trying hard and just needs a little patience and consistency to thrive. Penny has just learned about the joy of leash walking.  It is a new experience for her and she’s getting the hang of it every day.  Because leash walking is a new experience for her, a home with a secure fenced in yard would be best.  Penny was rescued along with her sister Maggie Lou.  These girls can be separated or also could be adopted together if your looking for a lovable dynamic duo. They are both currently with the same foster family.    This sweet girl will melt your heart and be the best companion.  An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  Please be sure to like our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions. Story
Erik Clapton is ready to steal your heart, serenade your couch, and become the big, lovable best friend you have been waiting for.   Erik Clapton, who goes by Erik and already knows his name, is a 3-month-old Beagle/German Shepherd Dog mix with an excellent temperament and an easygoing, affectionate personality. He currently weighs about 20 pounds, but he is expected to grow into a large dog around 75 pounds as an adult. He has short, very soft fur in a handsome mix of white, brown, red, and black, plus the softest ears you will ever want to pet.   Erik is a friendly, cuddly, relaxed puppy who is just about as close to perfect as a puppy can be. He loves people, including adults and kids, and is sweet and submissive with everyone he meets. He is equally happy being with people or other dogs, so he can curl up in your lap for snuggles, nap at your feet while you work, or race outside for playtime with a dog friend. In his foster home, he loves playing with his nanny, a 72-pound female German Shepherd Dog, and he does well with both large and small dogs. His behavior around cats is unknown.   For a young puppy, Erik is doing wonderfully with training and manners. He does well in his crate, is very quiet when crated, and runs right in to eat his meals there. He is almost housebroken and already understands that potty time happens outside. When the door opens, he runs out to go potty. He may still have an accident or two inside each day, but they are small and easy to clean up. He is also a fairly quiet puppy and only barks when he wants something.   Erik is gentle, eager to please, and food motivated, which should make him a fun and rewarding dog to train. He loves to eat, finishes all three of his meals each day, and listens well. When called, he comes running. He does not bite much, and when he does puppy-mouth, he is gentle about it. He also has no signs of trauma or abuse and seems like a happy, well-adjusted little guy.   This sweet boy is also an easy companion. He is a great car rider and will lay down and fall asleep in the passenger seat. At night, he will curl up next to you and barely move until morning. During the day, he is content to snooze at your feet while you work at the computer or lay in your lap while you watch TV. He also loves being picked up and carried around, which is adorable now and may become a very funny challenge when he grows into those big-dog paws.   Erik is healthy and at his ideal weight. He is already neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, and current on heartworm prevention as well as flea and tick prevention.   Erik’s ideal home is one where he will get lots of love, attention, and togetherness. He enjoys going outside, playing with other dogs, and then coming back inside to be close to his people. He will want to be part of your daily life, including bedtime, couch time, work-from-home time, and every little adventure in between. He should fit easily into a home with other dogs, but what he wants most is a family who will love having him nearby.   If you are looking for a sweet, soft-eared, cuddly puppy with a wonderful temperament and a heart full of love, Erik Clapton may be your perfect match. Story
McGraw Willie is an adorable, tiny, Beagle boy with a big personality packed into his 22-pound frame. At six years old, he’s the perfect age - past most of the puppy chaos, but still full of life and love. McGraw Willie is a total cuddle bug and would happily be your dedicated TV-watching companion or bedtime snuggle partner. He forms strong bonds with his people and truly thrives on human connection. If you’re looking for a loyal little shadow who wants to be close to you, McGraw Willie may be your perfect match. This smart boy learns quickly and enjoys spending time with his humans, especially when it includes one of his favorite activities — leash walks! McGraw Willie loves getting out to explore the world alongside his person. He ideally would like a fenced in yard so he can be in charge of the neighborhood watch and bark at any predators.   McGraw Willie would do best as the only dog in the home, as he can sometimes be reactive toward other dogs. He is currently living with 7 other dogs in his foster home and has adjusted in the past few weeks to sharing. He’s happiest when he doesn’t have to share his people. Because McGraw Willie is a proud Beagle and does enjoy using his voice, a home with shared walls (apartments, condos, or townhomes) may not be the best fit. A single-family home where he can bark less about the neighbors would help him succeed. Story
Meet Bumper — A Brave Young Beagle Looking for a Special Home One-Year-Old Beagle | Neutered | Up-to-Date on Vaccines Bumper’s story is one of survival and slow transformation. After being lost and on his own for five long months, this 1-year-old beagle is finally safe and beginning to learn how to be a dog again. He's shy, cautious, and still unsure about human touch, but he’s showing us he wants to try. Bumper is currently in foster care, observing and learning from the other dogs in the home. They’re helping him gain confidence and showing him that it’s okay to relax and trust. He’s taking baby steps, and every day is a victory. Because of his past, Bumper is a high flight risk and will need extra care when it comes to containment and leashing. He does not like to be touched or picked up, and he needs an adopter who understands that trust is earned slowly and gently. We are looking for an experienced beagle owner to become Bumper’s forever family. His ideal home will be: Beagle-savvy and knowledgeable about their sensitive nature and strong noses Patient, calm, and consistent, with no pressure to rush his progress Dedicated to ongoing training and socialization at Bumper’s pace Securely fenced yard and/or escape-proof containment Home with at least one confident, friendly dog to guide and comfort him Bumper isn’t ready to be your snuggle buddy yet, but he is ready to begin the journey with someone who truly understands him. If you're the person who sees potential in the shy ones and has the heart to help them blossom, Bumper is waiting to meet you. Could you be the one to help this brave boy find his way home?     An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  Please be sure to like our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions.
