Story

Ruby had been with us for almost 10 years, she is 11 now. We recently moved and cannot keep her so we are looking to rehome her. She is an indoor dog, very mild mannered and is house-trained....she will tell you when she needs to go out by going to the door and barking or going in circles. She is about 11 years old but still very active and likes to play with toys etc and fetch. She has had a a previous hip/leg injury from before we adopted her but it doesn't prevent her from doing anything she just walks a little funny. She is great with kids and grew up with ours along with cats and another dog. She has no history of any aggression towards people or animals but she does bark a little when someone comes to the door which we always liked as a warning with having kids at home. This sweet 5-year-old, 20-pound Beagle was rescued from a devastating hoarding situation involving 80 other Beagles. Despite her difficult start, Bonbon is a gentle, low-energy girl with so much love to give. She can be a little timid at first and is looking for a patient, understanding adopter who will help her continue building confidence and discovering how wonderful life can be. Bonbon absolutely adores snuggles and loves being held — she truly finds comfort in her people. On walks, she’s every bit the classic beagle, with her nose happily glued to the ground as she takes in all the scents around her. She is still working on her leash skills and would thrive in a home with a fenced-in yard where she can explore safely. Another friendly dog in the home would also be a huge plus, giving her companionship and helping her feel secure. With time, kindness, and love, Bonbon will blossom into a deeply devoted and affectionate companion. These dogs will require a fenced yard, as they can't walk on a leash. Due to the breed and how much they like to howl, we are not recommending apartments due to noise concerns.
