Story
Meet Hazel! Are you seeking just the right blend of fun and cuddles? Search no more! Miss Hazel, here is a senior lady, but she’s playful and curious and engaged…which makes us think she’s perfect! Hazel loves attention and will ask politely to be lifted onto the couch or bed. If you talk to her but don’t lift her, she’ll bark just to be sure that you understand what’s going on here. She wants to be wherever you are, but her short little legs and loooong body make jumping difficult. Luckily, she's just a small 22 pounds. She settles right in for a nap after playtime or a walk, and will sleep as long as you will at night, curled up in the bend of your knee. She has not had any accidents in the house, but her foster takes her out after she sleeps and after playtime. Hazel plays a little rough and likes to trade toys with you rather than just give them up, so perhaps older children would be the best fit. She gets along well with other dogs, and she likes her walks, but let’s keep them shorter, please. Those little legs work hard to get her down the lane! She settles into the car once she finds her comfy spot and will watch the world go by through the window or enjoy a chew stick while you chauffeur her around town. Hazel prefers not to be left alone and will show her displeasure by barking for a few minutes after the door closes, so apartment living may not be her jam. She will rest quietly after a few minutes and await your return, which she will celebrate with wiggles and smiles, and happy little grunts! Hazel could live with a cat that would stand their ground with her, but its best if she doesn’t live with them, as she really enjoy chasing them when they move. If you want a sweet, curious, playful dog who just wants to be your best friend, Hazel is the gal for you! *Hazel is being fostered in Fredonia, WI. Story
Odie was adopted by me as a puppy, now 12 yrs old he was left outside in a shed by himself until I got him always had separation anxiety, but also a extremely loving, good boy. Loves to cuddle, he just needs alot of attention and love. Loves food and will swipe it out of your hands, so watch that lol, in general a very sweet, loving boy that just thrives on attention, he loves kids and other dogs, needs someone who can provide him with a good home with someone that's is a homebody, short periods of time alone is fine but he just doesn't like being alone for long periods, bottom line is he is the sweetest, loving boy you'll ever meet and will give you tons of love and companionship🐾

Story
Two best friends, looking for a new family to love! Hank(Pomeranian) and Emma(Beagle) were brought to us by one of our previous adopters, after their owner suddenly passed away. These buddies were found in the home, protecting their owner for an unknown length of time before someone realized their owner had passed away. They showed loyalty to their first dad, and are now ready to share their love and loyalty with another family. Hank and Emma are a bonded pair, and must be adopted out together. If you're looking for an easygoing, gentle pair of pups to bring some joy into your home, please consider adopting Hank and Emma! All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age appropriate vaccines. If you're interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at sftsrescue.org/adoptableanimals

Give this lovable Beagle Cocker mix the forever home she deserves, and she will fill your life with joy and laughter! We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation. If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $450 for most adults and up to $650 for puppies which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $75 (up to $230 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $75 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS July 5, 2024, 5:17 pm

Story
Missy is a 4year old Beagle/PitBull mix who is about 40 pounds. She is spayed and fully vaccinated as well as potty trained. She knows her basic commands and is an extremely loyal dog. She will be your shadow and your best friend. Unfortunately, we have to rehome Missy because she does not get along with her female litter mate we also have in our home. Missy’s favorite pass times are snuggling and chewing on her bones, with some occasional tug-o-war. She also loves to bark at all her surroundings. Missy is picky with other dogs, but with slow introductions it may be possible with the right dog, she is cat friendly. Missy requires a fenced in yard or a secured area to run around. We also prefer a location away from busy streets. She is slow to warm up to people, but she loves everyone after a couple minutes. Missy is so loved and I hope to find her a home where she is even more loved and cherished than she already is. If you are interested in Missy, or have any questions please message.

Hi there! I'm Lailani, a 2 month-old bundle of energy and sass. I love wrestling with my siblings it's my favorite game! Chewing on Nylabones is super important for my sharp puppy teeth, so you can often find me gnawing away on one. But don't let my feisty side fool you; I'm also a total love bug. I absolutely adore getting lots of affection from the amazing staff and volunteers. They make me feel so special and loved!
