Story
They call me "Schmear"!If you're asking yourself: "What kind of a name is 'Schmear'?", well, let me tell you - You could have a plain ol' bagel. But that would be...meh. So-so. Just okay. Kinda boring, though.OR - you could have a bagel with SCHMEAR - Now we're talking! That little extra takes a boring bagel and makes it OH YEAH!Well, that's me! If you find things are too "meh", too so-so, kinda boring - just add ME, and suddenly - OH YEAH! Everything is so much better! You know how they say "good things come in small packages"? They probably wrote that about me. Not to brag too much, but at 3 years old, I'm like, the Total Package. That's what my foster family says.I'm house trained (I know to go potty outdoors), crate trained (I settle right in and sleep through the night), I LOVE people, and I'm the perfect size for the couch, the car, your tote bag, or your lap. Speaking of laps - that's my absolute favorite place in the world! I like to play (I'm bouncy like a bunny when I run) but when I'm all done, I LOVE to crawl right into your lap, curl up, and hunker down. Snuggle skills? EXPERT. And your face? It needs my kisses! I live to love my people. Personal space? Optional. But, I'm a gentleman - I like the grown-ups, but gentle kiddos and I can hang out as well. How about other dogs? Sure, why not? Now listen - the world is very big to me, and I know my own small stature, so I take kind of a cautious approach at first. I prefer a slow and polite introduction, and then - give a Lil' Guy some time to settle in. I like to take in new dogs at my own pace and know that I have a safe space and a safe person who can help me meet them without them being all "extra". But once I've had a chance to size them up? We can be besties! Don't get me wrong - I'm fine with other dogs, but I don't NEED to have them around. If you wanted me to be your one-and-only, I'm good to go - I'll bask in all the love an attention!Let's just be honest - my ears are waiting for your scritches and your lap is waiting for me to curl up in it. You don't want a boring, so-so, meh little doggo, and I don't want to spend forever waiting to be your "OH YEAH" - let's start now! I'm ready to be the Schmear to your bagel - are YOU ready for ME???

To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.
PLEASE READ:
• If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this.
• All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date.
• Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments.
Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well.
Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation.
