Story
Rascal Provac is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home!    Rascal is a sweet senior gentleman who is settling in beautifully in his foster home after landing in a local shelter. At about 15 years old he still enjoys his walks, does well on leash, and even has a playful spark. He has a small growth above his eye that is expected with old age and does not slow him down. No cats please as he gets a little too excited around them. If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter.   If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today! Story
Sonic Henson is currently in Rhode Island and looking for a ‘furever’ home! Sonic is not comfortable with men and is looking for a women only home that will respect his boundaries. He can be reactive to other dogs and would need very slow, structured introductions and plenty of time to acclimate. An adopter committed to continuing his training and confidence building will help him continue the great progress he has already made. Once comfortable sweet little Sonic is a total ham and an expert cuddler who loves being as close to his people as possible. He adores sleeping snuggled in bed, happily follows you from room to room, and despite that is also great in his crate and sleeps through the night. He is just as happy lounging around as he is playing fetch, going for walks, or riding in the car. Sonic is smart and truly enjoys training. He's ready to be an incredibly devoted companion for the right home willing to go at his pace. If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter.      February 27, 2026, 3:30 pm

Story
Meet Paisley, a gentle beagle girl whose heart is finally ready to bloom. Paisley was found wandering as a stray in Mississippi, scared, skin raw with mange, skinny and hungry. When she was finally caught and brought to the shelter over a year ago, she was timid and unsure of the world. But with time, kindness, and steady care, Paisley is slowly rediscovering what it means to feel safe.Today, Paisley loves to go outside, stretch her legs, and run free—her beagle nose in the air, ears bouncing, soaking up every bit of sunshine. She is well-mannered, walks beautifully on a leash, and enjoys exploring at her own pace.Meeting new people can still make her a bit shy at first, but once she trusts you, she becomes affectionate and loyal. She has done well with children she’s met, gently accepting their attention and company. Paisley isn’t just looking for a place to sleep—she’s searching for someone patient enough to let her continue to blossom, someone who sees not just who she is today but who she is becoming. Watching this girl learn to love and trust again is a truly rewarding experience. Her ideal home will be one that listens to her comfort level and respects her space. If you’re ready to be the chapter in Paisley’s story where everything finally gets better, she’s waiting—soft eyes, steady heart, and so much hope. Here she is with one of her shelter mates, Kirby:https://youtube.com/shorts/tRc498aeI-A?feature=shareName: PaisleyBreed: Beagle/CrossbreedSex: FemaleAge: 2 years  (estimated)Weight: 42.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Positive on recent testing. Story
Percy is a five-year-old basset hound with a touch of beagle—black and white with handsome brown markings on his face and long, soulful features that earned him the nickname “Slinky Dog.”He was a found stray in TN, and despite whatever his life looked like before, Percy remained a happy, easygoing, good-natured boy. Now in a foster home, Percy is being called the King of Moseying. He takes his time. He strolls. He explores. He is in no hurry to get anywhere—unless his dog friends are running ahead. Then he happily picks up the pace to stay with his pack.He absolutely loves other dogs and would thrive in a home with at least one playful companion. He enjoys being part of the group and clearly finds comfort and joy in canine friendships. He appears to be cat-friendly as well.At five years old, Percy is past puppy chaos but still youthful, playful, and full of personality. He’s sweet, steady, and the kind of dog who brings calm happiness wherever he goes.If you’re looking for a low-drama, dog-friendly, soulful hound who will mosey right into your heart, Percy is your guy.Name: PercyBreed: Beagle/Basset Hound  Sex: MaleAge: 5 years  (estimated)Weight: 33.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Positive on recent testing. Story
Meet Randall — and just look at that face… and those ears! This adorable Beagle mix puppy already knows how to make an impression. Randall came to us from Memphis, TN, after he confidently walked right up to a woman on the street who happened to have rescue connections — smart move, Randall! We believe Randall is about 12–14 weeks old (as of 2/23), and he’s currently settling into one of our wonderful foster homes. He’ll be heading to the vet soon for age confirmation, vaccines, and a full checkup. Once he has his vaccines on board, he’ll be ready to travel to his forever home. For now, Randall is exactly what you’d expect from a young puppy — curious, playful, and full of love. He enjoys playing with the other dogs in his foster home and is already winning hearts with his sweet, affectionate personality and endless puppy kisses. We’ll share more updates as we get to know him better, but one thing is already clear: Randall is a special little guy. If you’ve been thinking about adding a puppy to your family, you may not want to wait on this one! 🐾Name: Randall(Breed: Beagle/Crossbreed (no DNA tests done, this is based purely on sight and experience)Sex: MaleAge: 12-14 weeks estimated as of 2/23/26Weight: Spayed/Neutered: Too young - Spay/Neuter Contract will be required and strictly enforced.Vaccinations: Puppy vaccines will be up to date. All vaccinations required after adoption are the adopter's responsibility.Heartworm: Too young (testing is done at 6 months of age)Housetrained:  Not presently but working on it - crate trained by the time he arrives in New EnglandMicrochipped: YesLocation of dog currently:   Tennessee  Puppy Adoption Fee:  $600.00 (includes transport fee when applicable)                                   $100-150 additional mandatory quarantine fee applies to Massachusetts residents.Adoption Fee Includes spay /neuter surgery rebate to be paid to the adopter when proof of spay/neuter is provided to Paws New England. We can provide adopters with a list of low-cost SN clinics when requested. The adoption fee also includes the transport fee when applicableATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS:  You must attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are an experienced dog owner and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience.  This requirement is for your benefit and your puppy's, so if you experience behavioral issues, you have a point of contact.  PLEASE—Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so crucial in this puppy's life. Story
Age:   approx 2 years old   Weight: 18  lbs My adoption fee is $ 575  which includes transportation charges to the Northeast.   Riley was found by a good Samaritan who could not find her owner.  Riley was a little shy initially but she is quickly warming up.  She is a really sweet girl.  Riley does have the beagle voice but she would be a great addition to a family that loves the beagle breed. If you serious about adopting, the first step is to fill out an adoption application on our website:   https://www.smalldogrescuene.org/January 12, 2026, 8:00 pm
